Room had stains on the carpet. No closet - just a rack. Bathroom was old, stains on wallpaper. I had stayed there last year and apparently was upgraded because the room was fantastic. The "standard" room which I received this year, was extremely disappointing. I will not stay there again.

Although this hotel is abit out the way from attractions such as times square and central park i would still definetley recommend it. Even still its only a 10min walk to times square. the service was great, the room was very nice and was always cleaned to a high standard. The staff were very nice and helpfull. The hotel made our stay in NY a very happy and stress free one.

Was not particularly impressed with the service at the hotel. They didn't put me in the room I'd booked and when I asked to be moved I was told that I was wrong. When I tried again they finally agreed to move me but they didn't do it when they said they would and no one once apologised. I was made to feel like I was wrong for asking for what I paid for. I'd always heard service in the States is meant to be the best, well I was not impressed. The concierge guy was great though!

We were on the 38th Floor and the views from the Hotel were absolutely breath taking. That is the plus point as well as the lobby. We stayed in 12 different Hotels during our stay in America, this was the most expensive Hotel and the only one that didn't provide complimentary coffee or anything else in your room. More significantly we requsted 2 rooms with 3 family members in each room. At all the other hotels we either had two twin beds or a king size bed for my wife and me and then a sofa bed for the additional member of the family. At the UN Plaza we had one room with a King Sized bed only (how did they expect 3 people to sleep in that) and then the second room had two twin beds which are designed to accommodate a single person. When we complained the Hotel said that there wasn't any alternative accomodation. Therefore my wife and I ended up sharing a twin bed with my son in the other twin bed. In the second room my 3 daughters had to share the King Bed at great discomfort. Not very good..

The restaurant was a little biut pricy so I never ate there, but it did have a good range of food. Conceirge was very helpfull, gave advice on tours and hailed taxi's for us.

We had a terrific family vacation! Nice quiet neighborhood. Freindly staff. Deli nearby with great takeout breakfast. We were able to get to most attractions on foot or short taxi ride. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a spectacular view. The only drawbacks were that the pool closed at 6PM and the hotel didn't serve lunch or dinner.

I like this area (Tudor City) because its a little quieter than other areas in Manhattan, yet its very close to many sights. Subway maybe 1/2 mile away, and Central Stn is closer. Taxis everywhere of course. The room was surprisingly large for the city. I would definitely stay here again if I got a similarly good deal.

The location of this hotel is incredible. The views from the rooms are the best I've ever seen, great views of the UN, the Empire State Building, and the Chrysler Building. But the service needs improvement. First of all they put is in a smoking room, even though we requested non-smoking. We called and got a different room. When we went to the front desk to exchange our key cards the guy at the front desk, without saying a word, basically threw the new keys at us, which we thought was pretty rude. Our new room had a shower that drained very slowly, a sign of old plumbing in the hotel. Later, when checking out on a Sunday morning there was only one person working the front desk, the line wrapped around the lobby, and it took some time to check out. We had them hold our bags for the day. Upon returning, we did have to do some hunting through the lobby to find the concierge to retrieve our bags. Overall, though, the location and views made it worth it.

We stayed two nights at the Millenium UN. We were very satisfied with our room and the hotels service until the second night, we had just gotten back fron Little Italy at about 9PM and were extremely tired from all the walking we did that day. We got into our room only to be horrified by yellow water dripping from the ceiling by our bathroom, the floor was soaked and before my husband realized this he stepped from the soaked carpet onto the bathroom floor, slipping from the wetness and crashing down to the floor. Luckily he was not seriously injured. We immediately called down and some one came up to "upgrade" us to a junior suite. They did apoligize but did not offer us anything for our hughe inconvenience besides the upgraded room. I feel we should have at least had that night free since we had to pack all our belongings to move to another room, my husband fell and skinned up his knee and we had nasty sewage drip on us from an apparent toilet overflow from the room above us. The upgrade of the room was an ok gesture but it was after 9PM and we were checking out the next morning, also our bed had been a king size and it was only queen in the junior suite. I will be writing a letter to this hotel.

1st time to stay on the east side of the city. When we tried to check in, they only had us scheduled to stay one night even though we had pre-paid for four. After the lady at the desk spoke with her manager, they found a room for us. Decor is outdated. Chair in the room seemed dirty. Seemed that they just added a working shower head to one that stopped working, but the room was spacious and had an awesome view.

If you are working at the UN, the location couldn't be better. The pool and other amenities were nice, but the room was pretty standard. I've stayed at less expensive places that were at least in good repair. Several leaks, stains and mangled parts mentioned by my colleagues. Shop around before settling here. For the price, they should just throw in WiFI

While check in was a challenge, at least for one front desk clerk, and a request for a room change was required, we did find one great front desk agent who found us an upgraded corner room with great views. The original clerk could not find our reservation. During the stay the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful, especially the doorman Robert. He is a gem and a wealth of information! Drinks in the bar are a bit pricey, but this is, of course, New York.

The Hotel lobby is beautiful and well maintained as are most of the public areas, however the room was a disappointment. The furniture in our room was dirty and worn we refused to sit on it without first covering it with a towel. The beds were uncomfortable. But the worst thing was the condition of the bathroom, the fixtures were worn and rusting and it was not cleaned properly, the floor had hair, the glass coutertop had dirty water pooled on it and the mirrors had dirty streaks.

We always enjoy this hotel. It has great views from every room. In NYC, you don't want to stay right near the theatres (too many tourists), and the hotel is only a short walk from the #7 train that goes to Times Square. The staff could be a little more eager to please, but this didn't really affect us. The lobby is really cool--it feels good just to sit there. The restaurant in the hotel is open late and a great place to have a quiet meal after a hectic night out in Gotham. Hotels.com got us a GREAT deal.

Our room was pretty nice overall. we had a beautiful view of the East River and Manhattan North. The bed was very comfortable. There was no breakfast at the adjoining Ambassador Grill but a good diner at the end of the block. the Bathroom was OK, the grouting was a little old and blackened...for a "superior" room, they could do more with the upkeep. I would stay there again, very convenient.

The most spectacular feature, by far, was the sweeping views over Manhattan from north to south (west tower, window facing west). The pool was small (but very nice to have) albeit in the East tower and had views east over the river. The hotel restaurant was closed for dinners, and I didn't try room service, but the "Italian steakhouse" across the road was pretty good. Other slight downsides: poor TV reception on a couple of channels, and the pool closed earlier than stated in the hotel info folder. Overall, a decent stay and I'd stay there again.

We spent 2 stays of 3 days each here recently. The only complaints would be that the pool now shuts at 6pm so if you want to dive in after a long day sight seeing or shopping then you may be disappointed. The pool also is said to be kept at a steady 30 degrees but we swim every week in pools at home and abroad and it was chilly ! Hotels has great views, great location, is well kept and staff are excellent

I shopped around on various discount hotel sites before settling on the UN Millennium, and chose it for A) the discounted price; B) its location; and C) the swimming pool. Although motel prices in western countries and big cities (and especially in NYC) still give me major sticker shock, the Millennium was well worth the cost. Even though I stayed in a "regular" room (as opposed to a "superior" one), I checked in to a spectacular view of the city (looking right out at the top of the Chrysler and Empire State Buildings); a lovely, spacious room with giant flat-screen TV and extremely comfortable bed and marble bath; and (perhaps best of all) access to the gorgeous 27th-floor swimming pool complete with a view of the UN, sauna, and locker room worthy of a good sports club. I was originally a little worried that the location might be a bit seedy, being between First and Second Avenues, but it was nice and quiet. Right around the corner from the U.N., it's easy walking distance to Grand Central Station and midtown attractions, with lots of good shopping nearby for those so inclined, and even a decent 24-hour convenience/deli shop on the same block for those who don't want to pay motel prices for breakfasts and snacks. About the only negative thing I'd say about the motel is that it doesn't have do-it-yourself in-room coffee, but that's a quibble. The people working at the motel were all very helpful and pleasant to me. Of course, like anywhere else in western nations, it helps if you tip a little now and then, but that's normal. All in all, it was a terrific stay, and I'd heartily recommend it.

My loved one and I went for a Valentines weekend getaway, and I wanted to surprise her by having flowers waiting in the room prior to ckeck-in. Initially, they told me it wasn't something that they usually do because they do not know which room will be asigned until the rooms are ready. They came through...Upon our arrival, our rom was ready with a beautiful arrangement and a bottle of champaign. Great service throughout our stay, great bar downstairs, and great location, just down the street from central station. The view from our room was an amazing panoramic window that included the Chrytler builing and Empire State building. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it for any romantic gettaway.
