very good hotel, clean room, good service and nice view (partial ocean view option) great location as well. Worth the money....

The Holiday Inn Santa Monica is a great place to base yourself for downtown, the Pier, the beach, and to explore main street and Venice Beach. It is central for everything and the busstops are close at hand. It is though fairly basic, hasn't got much character and there is quite a bit of traffic noise as it is sandwiched between 2 busy roads. I never took the breakfast, or had a meal, or used the gym, or the pool, I pretty much just slept there and for that it was great.

This was a fantastic hotel, very comfortable and clean (like all Holiday Inn's) The Pool was nice and the hotel is in an amazing location only 1 minute from the beach and pier. I would stay here again!

The fitness room was not very well equipped and it was extremely hot. The halls were not air conditioned and again were extremely hot. The bathroom in the lobby was not air conditioned and again was extremely hot. The room was adequate and clean.

Great location but mediocre hotel, however it was clean and the folks were courteous and friendly. Check-in which was 4pm was delayed by 1/2 hour which was an irritation but they comped the parking fee ($24/day) because of the delay. Also, they let us park the car in their parking garage from 9am the morning we arrived which was really nice since parking is very limited in the area. The pool is rather small but clean. Did not try their restaurant. Nothing fancy for sure but the location (across the street from the pier) is outstanding.

Nice Hotel, Great location, friendly staff, great room service!

Great location, just seconds from the Santa Monica Pier. Nice room, comfortable bed. Great customer service, very polite. Restaurant a bit pricy.

Hotel is located one block from the SM Pier access on Colorado Street. Room was comfortable for a reasonable price, and there's a McDonald's conveniently located right across the street. Traffic noise was significant on road side of hotel. Staff were very friendly.

The most upsetting thing was that I specifically requeste a non-smoking room and to my dismay, although my room was non-smoking, my floor was not. I was in bed and around 10:00pm my room starts filling up with smoke. I called down to the front desk and they informed me that the room directly across from mine was not non-smoking. The gaps between the hall doors allowed for smoke to infiltrate my room all night long. The Hotel offered no restitution. I was very dispointed. When I crawled into bed I noticed a strange smell, upon further investigation I found that the decorative pillows were the culprit. The maids obviously don't clean the bed spread or decorative pillows, and therefore, left a pungent smell of body odor or fluid.. I prefer not to know which.

The room was nicer than any Holiday Inn I've stayed at, for sure. The breakfast we ordered via room service was delicious and impressive. The room service people were friendly and sweet, as was the concierge. But the front desk staff left a little to be desired. They said our bags would be 'right up' after we checked in...an hour later, no bags. We called to remind them, and it was clear they'd forgotten. However, we still got attitude for asking for OUR BAGS. They also tried to charge me for 2 nights' parking (I didn't have a car there), despite asking me about 5 times if I had a car, and hearing me say "NO". Overall it was great though. The area was so close to all the action, but that also brought a down side. There is a huge homeless population right there, and it was concentrated near our hotel area. It was a very sad sight...as a warning, if you can't handle seeing that kind of sadness, stay inland...

I thought we paid a lot of mony for what we got. The Hyway noise at the pool was unbearable. Their wasn't even a continental breakfast for the amount and then had to pay an additional fee just to park my Harley, which takes up no room at all. I would say you get what you pay for but we stayed at another hotel on Saturday in Port Hueneme for much less a night and we got a continental breakfast. Whats wrong with this.

Standard hotel. Nothing impressive. You are pretty much paying for the location, which is PERFECT. We walked to the Promenade & the Pier. The room was comfy and clean except for a big wet spot on the carpet by the desk area. Overall good hotel.

Room was fine, had everything you expect. And the staff was very knopwledgeable and helpful. They even recommended a bike rental company on the Santa Monica Pier that was cheaper and had better bikes than their in-house rentals. But the location was the key - on Colorado, one block from the Pier and walking distance from everything in SM. A bit of construction, but nothing at night. Great value.

The roads around it were being repaired so it was noisy, inconvenient to get to and hard to get around to walk to other areas.

Major road repair on the street in front of the hotel made driving made access difficult

Great Location, minutes from the beach and the shops on the Promenade. However, don't expect a view. The hotel was built parallel to the freeway on one side and the Mall on the otherside with no actual rooms facing the ocean. Rude and unhelpful reception staff, including the supervisors on duty.

big street work going on. Hard to navigate in the dark. Need to go around Hotel a bit to find one-way in. If known in advance it makes it easier. NOT TOLD BY HOTELS .COM OVER ALL A NICE PLACE,WITH EASY WALKING TO HOT SPOTS.

Quite convenient place. Staff members friendly and helpful. We did appreciate the free internet access and the use of the swimming pooL We recommend this hotel

This is an okay Holiday Inn, nothing fancy, bit outdated bathroom, real noisy (earplugs at night) if you have a room on the frontside so make sure you get a room at the back. 50 yards from the Santa Monica Pier.

Hotellet var av standardnivå, men med rymliga rum. Först blev vi lite avskräckta av att hotellet låg precis mellan genomfartsleden och lokalgatan, men trafiken störde oss inte. Läget är perfekt, precis vid piren och ett kvarter från gågatan med affärer och restaurangen.

Très bon emplacement pour profiter des animations de Santa Monica , Les chambres sont propres et les prestations correctes mais trop près de la Freeway , les conséquences : un peu bruyant surtout lorsque vous vous trouvez à la piscine .
