Stanhope Hotel - Bruselas

My partner and I stayed at the Stanhope Hotel for a four-night stay. Upon arrival, we were immediately tended to by Delphine who warmly welcomed us and checked us in professionally and expeditiously. The room was absolutely perfect - cosy and quiet. We also enjoyed the breakfast during the weekend and the head waiter showed utmost professionalism in his demeanour. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel (with truly five-star services and professionalism) to anyone staying on business and/or on leisure. We will definitely return to the Stanhope Hotel again!

The standard room was comfortable and attractive. Good size en-suite. Within easy walking distance of the main attractions and a metro station. The hotel is quiet but close to busy traffic. However, we did not book breakfast in our deal and it was pricey. Decided to eat outside the hotel. A quiet hotel. I had a nine year old with me, but its not really a place for a group of children.

We spent our last night during a 3-week vacation at the Stanhope. It was a fantastic way to end the trip. The service was excellent, the room was larger than expected, and the location was great for the short time that we were in Brussels. The only disappointment is the cost of accessing the internet. Guests pay a premium to stay at this luxury hotel so it would be nice if it provided complimentary WIFI.

We had booked a double room but found we had been given a twin. This was changed without any problem but the replacement room, unlike the twin room, was not up to 5* standard. It was quite cramped, carpet worn, you couldn't open one side of the wardrobe very well because of the window sill, it was on the top floor and the lift broke down one day! However, room was quiet, bed comfortable and the location suited us well, in walking distance of city centre and other points of interest.

Everything about the hotel was excellent, staff, room, cleanliness (except the maid smoked while she cleaned in our non-smoking room). When we went out to dinner it was hard to find a nice restaurant-the neighborhood was kind of seedy.

I chose this hotel based on the good ratings and online recommendations, but stayed in a disappointing room. The single bed awkwardly blocked the closet and desk, while the carpeting looked worn. The general cleanliness was not up to five or even five stars. While this hotel has character, you should be careful which room you are put in as the quality seems to vary. Also, beware the loud construction taking place next door.

All the receptionists were v ery friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. I did not like my room as the bed was rather uncomfortable but as soon as I mentioned this on reception I was upgraded to another room with a very conmfortable bed.

Hotel located in a great position for travelling from Brussels Midi to the European Parliament and well suited to the business traveller. The room was clean and comfortable and the only disappointing aspect of my stay was the lack of in room tea/coffee making facilities.

very nice hotel. but when we asked for a nice restaurant nearby they suggested what was a fair caferteria. not very nice for a business dinner. They just were clueless

The hotel is very nice, well-kept, comfortable. I definitely liked it. The only two things I would improve are the Internet in the room (should be free) and the prices in the restaurant (good, but pricey).

I have been travelling for 15 years, 150 nights per year, this has been my best experience.

I didn't expect such luxuriousness for the price... The hotel was absolutely gorgeous and extremely comfortable. The public areas are very elegant and sophisticated, and the rooms have a similar sparkle and charm. The restaurant as well was truly lovely. I traveled through Europe for over a month and this was one of my very favourite hotels. Easy to find, at the end of a busy road.

I travel often on business. I found the Stanhope on hotels.com because I wanted to be near a hotel where the convention I was attending was scheduled, but did not want to be at that hotel. Because weekend rates are excellent the average price was within my travel budget. The only change I would make would be to offer real coffee in pots (no machine expresso with soy substitute), but if you bring your own press pot that problem will be solved.

From the moment we stepped out the taxi and were greeted by the handsome doorman we were impressed. As you walk through to Reception you can't fail to be impressed by the decor, cleanliness, and overall ambiance. The staff were very welcoming, polite, helpful, and spoke extremely good English, happily accepting our attempt at French. Not one aspect of the hotel was a disappointment. The buffet breakfasts were of high quality and despite the poor exchange rate, very good value. The location is ideal for walking and sightseeing as well as near to tube station. Highly recommended.

We were greeeted by Oliver at the front desk, very professional and friendly. Were upgraded to a lovely room - very very nice would have stayed there again in a heart beat. Great location, wonderful breakfast and the amenities in the room exceeded most European hotels I've experienced!! Very nice.

Excellent all round, grea rooms, well equiped, it was a surprise for the money, we went in late July sand felt we got a real bargin.

Located in a quite area close to the European area and the center, could not be better. Decorations and furnishings first class. Very well serviced rooms. Excellent staff, a good restaurant and good public space. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely return.

For quality and value for this 4* hotel at the rates provided by Hotel.com could not in my estimation be beaten. Although a little way from groups of resturants in the commercial ara, it is within easy walking or Metro disrtance from the Grand Place area.

Stayed at this hotel for business. It was near the Parliment in the "EU quarter". Staff was very friendly and the room was very clean and nice. Near the metro and easy to get a taxi. About a 20 minute walk to Grand Place. Breakfast buffet each morning but not included in price. Also paid for Internet connection. Overall a great experience.

Our stay exceeded our expectations. It was a little hard to find at first, but once we made it we loved our time here. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with directions, train timetables, etc. It is located near the lovely Parc du Bruxelles and the walk toward the Grand Place and other attractions is quite lovely. Brussels is a wonderful city and this hotel offers a lot- comfort and a great staff.

Staff were really helpful and friendly & could not be faulted. The reception, dining room & outside area are impressive but then the room we stayed in was a little disappointing. We were lead up a narrow stairwell which was grubby & it felt like a forgotten part of the hotel. The walls were cracked and the carpet looked in need of a good clean. But we had a good stay - the room was quiet and comfortable and the location is good as it's only a short walk from everything.

The room was very small for one person only. The bed was up a flight of stairs with room for a double bed and small TV only. Very small down staits with one chair and TV. OK if you only plan to sleep.

This is a hotel in the financial region of Brussels but do not let this put you off. It is right beside a subway stop and 5 minutes walk from a large park. Nearby there are good places to eat and the area felt safe. We got a free upgrade with our room to a suite and it was beautiful. Double bathroom, beautiful king size bed and living room. Staff were helpful and the upkeep was to the highest standard. A suprising amount of luxury for the price paid and I would most definately recommend this hotel.

I've stayed at the Stanhope a few times - the double rooms are very nice, the single occupancy ones are also perfectly fine - if a bit less comfortable. Staff are courteous, the rooms are clean, location is convenient, so I will certainly be going back.

the best hotel ive ever stayed in. grand rooms bigger than my house. only 10 mins walk from the xmas markets. wold definately recomend it. merry xmas x

Although it was lovely the 25 euro I paid for coffee and croissant was a little over priced!! Having breakfast...? Make sure you eat as much as you can!!!

The Hotel is beautiful and close to public transportation etc. Breakfast was expensive 18 euro if purchased in advance or 25 otherwise. Room was nice but carpet was stained and looked like it needed to be replaced. Ordered pizza one day and it looked cooked but was obviously still frozen on inside. Breakfast should be included. Also I made a call to a cell phone (Belgian number) and for 6 minutes it cost me 25 euro - OUTRAGEOUS!!!!! That was a real rip-off. The clerk at the desk barely raised an eyebrow at my complaint and shock. I was there for business and id dnot feel that it was a great option for business.

I recently booked two rooms at the Stanhope for myself and my two teen-age daughters. The hotel was great - the rooms are very large, beautifully furnished, and the hotel staff is extremely helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

This 5-star hotel is absolutely amazing. Our room was more like a suite rather a standard room. We stayed in room 525 and I would definitely stay there again. There are double sinks, a separate tub and shower and a large heated towel rack. Molton Brown bath products are provided new every day. The water closet is separate from the bathroom, as well. We found that to be pretty nice considering we are in Europe. The bed was like one of those "Heavenly Beds" you find at one of hotel chains in the United States. We only stayed for the weekend because we got a superb deal off of hotels.com. If you stay during the week, you will pay much more because of all the business travelers. I would recommend this hotel to anyone but if you are on a budget definitely stay for the weekend only.

Eventhough I got upgraded and my room was very pretyy (2 floors) it was amazingly hot in the second floor which prevent me for sleeping well. Staff was very friendly and helpful. All in all we had a good time. You may need to walk a bit since the restaurant at the hotel is not open for dinner

Jeg hadde lest positivt om hotellet før, og hotellet levde opp til sine forventninger. God service og meget imøtekommende personell. Stor åpen stilfull lobby med vakker liten utehage.

Hyggelig hotell i typisk "business area", forretninger og restauranter er ikke så langt unna. Hyggelig interiør og betjening som delvis lever opp til fem stjerner, men synes nok likevel hotellets tilbud ligger nærmere tre stjerner enn fem. Eksempler: Store flekker fra noe som er sølt på fortrekksgardin og i taket på rommet, lunken/kald kaffe begge frokostene. Men altså ellers hyggelig!

+ luxe ,confort,propreté,calme - prix du petit déjeuner, check-out long (beaucoup de monde et peu de personnel)

obligé de contourner les meubles pour se déplacer. On dirait que pour respecter les normes la chambre a été surchargée. De plus petit dejeuner tres cher (25 euros) pour une formule buffet "normale" sans possibilité de prendre continental classique

Pour une somme modique grace à la réservation par l'intermédiare d'hotels.com, nous avons pu avoir le luxe de dormir dans une suite maginifique pour le prix d'une chambre d'un hotel 3* L'hotel est splendide , et mérite le séjour , le petit déjeuner est superbe, même s'il augmente le prix de la chambre Aux conditions Hotels.com nous y retournerons avec plaisir

Der "Fitnessbereich" mit Sauna uns Solarium ist gerade mal ca. 40 qm groß. Das Restaurant ist am Wochenende geschlossen. Wir hatten ein Deluxe Zimmer gebucht - sehr klein (ca. 25 qm). Im WC war der Bewegungsmelder kaputt. Licht und Belüftung gingen nicht mehr aus. Trotzdem wir dies bereits am zweiten Tag gemeldet hatten, geschah nichts und wir blieben 4 Tage! Ich würde also eher sagen 3- Sterne- plus aber in keinem Fall 5- Sterne.

The Stanhope was perfect for our purpose: a short weekend break. We got a sizeable room with all the comfort you look for in a hotel, ie bathroom with ample space, separate shower + shower over bath, kingsize very comfortable bed (a plus given that I am rather spoiled that way), etc. Did not eat at the hotel at all, since around the Sablon and Louise there is a plethora of good restaurants, coffehouses and bars to choose from at very affordable prices. All in all: recommended if you don't want a "chain"-hotel (otherwise: Hilton is about 800 mts away).

Bon hotel dont le prix des chambres est très bon marché. les à-côtés sont quant à eux moins abordable. Services et prestations de très bonne qualité.

Sehr schönes Hotel, doch von einem 5 Sterne Haus erwarte ich auch eine Topp-Sauberkeit. Diese war nicht 100%ig gewährleistet.
