I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in the first week of August with 2 other adults. Loved it! The grounds were beautiful and the whole hotel stayed consistent with the River theme. There were 3 or 4 bus stops to take you to the parks, and one was a short walk from my room. The pool was nice. Lots of kids and families during the day, but at night it is less crowded. We went swimming at 2am after being at the parks all day, and no one came to kick us out because the pool was officially closed. The pool is not fenced in so it is basically always open, and it is not near other rooms so you are not disturbing anyone. The double sinks and being able to pull the curtain across the vanity area was nice with 3 women trying to get dressed in the morning. My only complaints are it was hard to see the room numbers from the car when we first got there and had to get out and start walking around to find our room #; and the last food station at the food court closes at 11pm but the parks are open past that. So if you stay out that late, eat at the parks or fend for yourself. The prices of food were on the high side considering what you get, but comparable to the prices in the parks.

The only problem I had was the check in process. Disney let's you check in on line and you do not! My room was not going to be ready until 5pm and I arived at the Hotel early in the morning. They did change my request and I was allowed to check in at 3pm...I had been on property since 10am...

I stayed for 2 nights in August. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was powerful and stayed hot. I did not hear any noise from another room. I used the Magical Express and it worked well. Luggage delivered quickly to room. The bus transportation around disney was amazing. Never waited more than 5 minutes. Even leaving Disney after the fireworks, hundreds of thousands of people streaming out at the same time, and we walked right on a bus to our hotel. Eating at the food court for breakfast was convenient with a lot of choices.

We got a good deal on this room thanks to hotels.com. We paid the extra for the waterview which was nice, and worth the money. Our view was of the lake which was nice, as I was a little worried about it being of the pool. I recommend calling the hotel and requesting a room close to the lobby. We didn't have to request this, we just got lucky. But the there are many buildings and they can be a long walk after an already long walk. I can see that being very tiring after a long day at the parks or downtown disney. Plus when you are close to the lodge you are close to the restuarants, shop, arcade and pools. The Riverside port of the hotel was much nicer then the port orleans in my opinion. The riverside was more relaxed plantation based, very beautiful with the port orleans side representing the french quarter more, which i found a little obnoxious. For parents seeking a relaxed environment this is definitely the better side. also the housekeepers did a great job and even made towel animals like you often see on cruises which was a nice touch. The hotel was very clean as well, very nice, more like a suite then a room, very easy to get comfortable in. The only down thing was we were told 2 queen size beds but had 2 full size beds which was a tight fit with me being pregnant and my larger husband plus 2 kids. But we bared through it because we didn't want to get a room not as close to the lobby. We didn't mention it bc we liked our location but i'm sure it would have been resolved had we said something. There was a trundle bed that helped relieve the situation.

Overall, this hotel was ok. It was clean, and there was plenty of room for our family of 5. The kids enjoyed the pool, and the restaurant was decent. However, maid service was terrible. They constantly forgot to leave soap and shampoo, even when we were completely out. The location was very inconvenient. It seemed to be far away from everything, and the buses took at least 20 minutes to get to the parks. Sometimes we would have to wait up to a half hour for the bus to even get there to pick us up. The resort was very large and spread out, so it was a long walk to the bus stop, lobby etc. I would not waste my money on a moderate resort, as it is basically just a value resort with a higher pricetag. The values are just as nice and clean. If you want to splurge, go for the deluxe, if you want to watch your budget go for the value. There's no advantage to the moderate resort.

This was our first stay at a Disney resort and we were most pleased. Clean, comfortable room with regular amenities (refrigerator, iron, coffeemaker). Well lit walkways between buildings and clear signs to help you find your way. Lots to do on property. Several bus depots so you can get to the parks easily. A variety of choices in the food court, including many healthy options (of course it can get pricey!) Just a few inconveniences- no room service, towel service only at the main pool, and paying for Internet. Otherwise it was a great deal! I would stay there again.

Port Orleans, Riverside is formerly Dixie Landing--a antebellum southern themed resort. While I was changed for politically correct reasons, it still holds it southern plantation charm. The marina, its waterways and stately buildings are reminiscent of the old south. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained. In conjuction with the "French Quarter" it is a wonderful Disney resort that is suited better to older teens and adults rather than children. We loved our stay and I'm sure you would too

Port Orleans Riverside is actually our favorite on-site hotel. We actually like this more than the deluxe resorts. The location is perfect and is just a quick bus ride from the Magic Kingdom. There is convenient ferry service to Downtown Disney, and the theming of the resort really transports you to a different time and place. There is plenty to do on property and the restaurant serves up some great southern cuisine. I would recommend this property to anyone seeking a relaxing Disney vacation.

This is the first Disney resort that I have stayed at so I do not have others to reference to. We were able to successfully navigate around w/out a rental car through the transportation services that Disney provides. At times it was tricky to know which buses and stops to take, especially when traveling to Downtown Disney and the Disney boardwalk (you have to take a resort bus but we were trying to travel from a park). The bus drivers were helpful though. It also sometimes took longer than I wished. It seemed to always be at least a 20 minute experience, sometimes much more. We were traveling as 2 adults and were told at check in that they did not have any King beds left. We were left with 2 very small beds, didn't even feel like a double though it must have been.

This was our 2nd time staying at Port Orleans Riverside. The rooms are comfortable and the hotel is clean and convenient. The location and on-site restaurant and general hotel make this a great place to stay while vacationing in WDW. There are 6-7 pools, a pool bar and a boat to access Downtown Disney. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and there is plenty of room to walk, jog and enjoy the scenery.

I would consider the Disney Port Orleans Riverside more of a hotel compound then a hotel. Had many many buildings with numerous pools, good dining facility with many options for picky eaters and a fairly well stock gift shop with necessities for unplanned needs. It is a very large place so if you have young kids you may want to request a location closer to main lobby so you don't spend a lot of time having to get from your room to the dining area and main bus stop. The buses are convenient but require some patience(as any trip to Disney would require). The buses come frequently, but at peak times can be crowded and slow so you will need to give yourself ample time (45 minutes or so) to get back and forth the the parks. The beds are pretty comfortable, too. In the one bedroom, it is a little strange how the bathroom configuration works out-the shower and toilet are in a very small enclosed room, but the double sinks are only seperated from the room by a curtain. There is little room to change in the enclosed room and the curtain feels like it offers little privacy if you are sharing a room with someone not in your immediate family. There are no "drink" vending machines by the actual rooms which meant you had to load up at the front lobby area and carry back to your room. All in all I would consider it a good place to stay, it was scenic and convenient.

We travled with two toddlers with whom the staff were very accomidating. We were able to get a rail up on one bed and had a crib as well. It was very peaceful compared to the hustle/crowds of the theme parks. My mother (65) enjoyed this as well. The hotel really could be enjoyed by people of all ages. Taking the ferry to Downtown Disney was very nice. It could be a little cleaner, noting mold in shower tiles and dirty baseboards. I would go back.

We also liked being able to drop off our luggage early and enjoy the park while our room was being prepared. They also brought our luggage to our room when we got back (no charge). It was a great stay! We are planning our next trip back.

Great perks when staying here! Free airport shuttle was important to us and extremely useful. Loved the boat ride to downtown disney and shuttle elsewhere. Would have used the luggage check in but didn't know until going home we could check them all for free without paying the extra airline's baggage fee. Would have preferred to do that rather than tote three carry ons and pay the extra fee for checking a bag! All of these added up to a big savings for us. Although the hotel itself needs a little more attention (no towels at pool, broken refridg. door, broken air cond.-fixed ASAP though, and dirty feeling food court) felt for the low price we paid it was definitely a good value. Go for the lowest rate on this one though! Would definitely stay again!
