Overall better than expected after having read the other reviews. Room was clean and good size for a European hotel; no problems at all with plumbing. WiFi was available in room for purchase - pretty standard fare in Europe. American breakfast was very good and plentiful. Staff spoke enough English to get by and were friendly. Central location to Termini Station and historic attractions - priceless. A good bargain.

great location, staff was friendly, helpful and spoke english. two blocks from train station/metro, i'd suggest ear plugs if you're a light sleeper (though it didn't bother me too much)

Extremely conveniently located right next to Termini station and a comfortable walking distance from the Colosseum, Fora etc. Excellent value: my single room was large, spotlessly clean and well-appointed in terms of furnishings, toiletries and mini-bar. Reception staff were very helpful, including night porters, although the one let down was the bar staff who frowned all through the so-called 'Happy Hour'. Breakfast is an ample buffet in a bright, airy room and guests can enjoy drinks in the roof garden bar of the Hotel Mediterraneo opposite, owned by the same company. Overall very impressed with this hotel and woul definitely recommend it.

Excellent location...clean rooms, confortable, breakfast ok...will stay again.

Excellent location. We took the train from the airport(much cheaper than the taxi); the hotel was a one block walk from the train station. Close to the metro and right on 2 bus lines. Room was good, bed was firm, bathroom was marble, shower was very small, which wasn't a problem for us but would be for big people. Included breakfast was good; the fruit was canned, but other than that, quite good, including scrambled eggs, bacon, great capuccino, all kinds of breads, and all kinds of cereals. Staff was multilingual and very helpful. Would certainly stay here again, although their sister hotel across the street(Mediterraneo) is worth checking out. We went over to their roof garden, and it looks a little higher level, although I'm sure it's more expensive.

After finishing a Perillo Tour, we decided to move our hotel for an extra day at the end of our stay. The location was very convenient, rooms were clean and very nice, and the front desk staff exceptionally helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is near the train and subway station, for me it was convinient. It was clean and the room was nice. Bed was firm. The staff was friendly and spoke english/spanish. The breakfast was good. This hotel is not high end, but I would recomend it and stay there again.

The hotel is conveniently located just next to the station so that it was good to start the touring of Rome. It is a good hotel but not worth to spend the price. The breakfast was ok but the quality of food was not good as other hotels I stayed in Itay.

The Massimo d'Azeglio is a fine old hotel that has been renovated to provide all that a traveler could ask for.The location around the corner from Termini, the breakfast, the cleanliness of the romm and the service in general could not be better.

If you are looking to stay near (2-3 minutes walking) the railway hub "Termini" and have good access to the airport, metro and Trenitalia - this is a great location to stay. The services are decent and the hotel is clean and professionally maintained. Also serves a good breakfast that is usually included in the rate.

We were very pleased with the location of this hotel. It made our travels in Rome much easier and faster. The rooms were nice. There were 3 of us staying in one room which made for a little closer quarters. However, it was not uncomfortable. It was a great European hotel. The staff was nice. The breakfast was good. It is in a great location. Great pizza places and other resturants in the area. We will stay at this hotel again in the future.

This hotel has a real authentic European flavor. The staff was fluent in English, extremely professional and efficient, and very charming. We were lucky, because they elected to upgrade us to a junior suite at no additional charge, but I think we would have enjoyed a standard room as well. The location is rather "urban" - near the train station - but as such is very centrally located. This hotel provided a real value for the dollars spent - and didn't feel like a compromise.

Godt centralt placeret hotel med god service og fint og rent. Venligt personale som altid var parat til at hjælpe med råd og tips. Lidt plaget af støj fra Metro og vej, men ikke den store betydning.
