I got the Air train, then bus shuttle from Federal Station at JFK. I had to wait quite a long time for the bus shuttle in spite of calling the hotel to let them know I was there. The other hotel shuttles were more frequent. The hotel lobby was nice and the staff were helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the room was below average, very tired decor, peeling paint. TV reception was also bad. I felt it was overpriced for what it was

My husband and I were extremely disappointed in the location,service,and cleanliness of our room.We discovered blood on one of the sheets, they were never changed prior to our visit.Housekeeping knocked on our door at 9:30 at night, I was very upset after it took us an hour and a half to find the hotel,no one at the hotel could help us with directions. So overall I would never in a million years recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.!!!!!!!!!!

We checked in at 10 pm with one person working the desk (and answering the phone) and a line of people. They had no clean rooms. Everyone waited for the one cleaning person to clean the rooms. When we got to our room, it was horrible, the bed was all springs and it was like sleeping on a trampoline. The condition of the room was old and musty. The next morning taking a shower the soap dish fell out of the wall and hit my foot! I complained about the soup dish when checking out, but, they didnt seem to care. I got no response other than they will send maintenance to check it out. I cannot belive this hotel is actually operating under the Ramada name.

This is a very expensive hotel which although has a good location is still expensive. The restaurant and lounge have hugely inflated prices which to a traveller is silly.

We were coming from Europe and continuing to the Caribbean next morning, so we needed a room for 2 adults and 3 kids to sleep in. As the connecting flight left early, the airport needed to be close by, and because we already had a 9-hour trip and 6 hours' jet lag behind us, we didn't need a luxury resort, just a bed thanks. Getting to the hotel shuttle was somewhat of a pain, but this is a JFK problem, not the hotel's. Once on the shuttle and then in the hotel, we found friendly personnel in a functional and clean surroundings. Yes, the hotel is starting to show its age - the bathroom fixtures and A/C are technologically old and carpets and wallpaper are getting threadbare. However, the room was clean and neat, the A/C, TV and fixtures all worked and the beds fulfilled their purpose - we were well rested for the trip next morning. The hotel shuttle takes you directly to the terminal in the morning, which is a welcome change to the previous afternoon's trip via twisted pathways, elevators and the AirTrain JFK. All in all, it fulfills most requirements of airport hotel at a fair price.

Room was very clean. The hallway was dirty. Noticed this on the review when I booked the room. Restaurant staff said they were too busy to give us a menu to look at. Looking around the restaurant area was not busy. Went to the bar area for a drink. The friendliest person was Nancy M. the bartender. The rest of the staff were too busy talking to one another. Hotel staff needs to remember the guests are the ones who are paying their wages from our stay and they should not be talking to each other when guest approaches them. Unfortunately the location was why we booked at the Ramada as it was close to the airport for shuttle service. Would not stay here again,

The hotel provides 24 hours free shuttle to & from Airport. The front desk personnel was very helpful even gone beyond the hotel services to help us for the dinning options as well. But the room is not very well kept and the furnitures are a bit dated. There are plenty of dinning options as well as free deliveries available. The hotel is ok for a night stay before your departure flight

Extremely disappointed with the JFK Ramada Inn. Very long wait to check in, dirty bathroom, toilet had been used and not flushed, hair on floor and around sink area. Dirty rug, dried stains ran down nightstand, something obviously had been spilled next to the pillow. Rust marks around faucets in bathtub, cracked toilet seat. Waited 45 minutes for a crib to be brought to room (arrival at midnight with a baby that was mentioned on reservation). No place to heat a bottle of formula, staff said that they could not even heat it for us in a microwave. Rooms are not soundproof at all, teenagers made noise until 3 AM next door, TV ran all night in a room across the hall and we could hear it too! We have traveled extensively and are not fussy people, but this was sub-standard. We chose Ramada Inn since we have always considered it to be one of the better hotel chains. Unfortunately, that is no longer true, judging from this one. There was a special check-in area for airline crew, so perhaps they have the nice rooms?

The hotel is old and grimy.I asked the reception for some matches and they said they didn,t have any nor was the bar open late to get some.I ran out of cigarettes and the concierge did me in on $25 for a pack of cigarettes.When i went to my room there was a party on in one of the rooms across from me.Drunk people screaming and kicking the doors.Paper thin walls.Terrible.Dont go there

A nightmare! The staff has no training whatsoever. Most of them don't care to assist the guest nor do they try. I woke up early and tried to find coffee, the front desk attendant told me there was a machine down the hall, but neglected to tell me that I needed coins or to offer change. Later, after obtaining the change, I realized there were no cups on the machine. The bartender down the hall told that the cups were in a different place and didn’t even offer to get them. Also, she was too busy chattering with a coworker and seemed bothered by my approach. In short, after obtaining the cups myself from the restaurant, it took me 25 minutes to get coffee. Similar situations happened for mouthwash and directions from the concierge. In addition, the hotel room was lacking basic features such as coffee maker and regular TV (the TV was 13 inches), and the entire room smelled.

This hotel obviously caters to passengers from flights that have been cancelled. The line to register for a room was out the door of the lobby at 10 o'clock at night. When we finally did get our room we had to make numerous phone calls to the hotel operator before anyone would answer, to let them know that there was no airconditioning. They said they could not move us. On top of that they couldn't provide us with a roll away bed for our 4 year old so 3 of us slept in a tiny bed without airconditioning in August! They couldn't fix the airconditioner so we slept with the windows open....in NY...in August. Need I say more.

Check-in service took a very long time. Long lines and not enough personel to help. Sheets on the bed were very old with old flat pillows. Mattress didn't fit the frame. Frame stuck out to injure legs.

We used the hotel as a stay over waiting for our 7:00 AM flight at JFK. We only had a problem with the iron in the room. Called down and an other iron was delivered quickly. Shuttle is great. Every half hour. Traveling hint --------------- We took a taxi from Penn Station to the hotel. Taxi driver said he didn't know where is was and he searched for it on our meter. The flat rate to JFK is $45 + tolls -- not to the hotel which cost us more. He quickly found it after my wife was throwing a fit. I think it might be best to take a taxi to JFK and then the Ramada Shuttle to the hotel.

The check in process was terrible with only 1 person checking in. The first room offered stank of cigar smoke, the 2nd only had the one bed when we'd requested a 2 bed room. Finally we got what we'd booked over an hour after we checked in. The hotel is ok for a night stop over at JFK. I would not recommend it for anymore than that. The hotel is badly in need of an upgrade to the decor. The only thing I can say was good was the service in the bar for food and drinks. I was expecting a whole lot more from a Hotel named Ramada Plaza.

I noticed that room service trays were left outside of rooms for at least a few hours. Also, when we flew back to NY & stayed at the Ramada again, our room had a light switch that didn't work nor did one of the lamps by the bedside. Otherwise, the hotel met our expectations, & check-in staff was wonderful.

The hotel was fine; the service was less so. Check in was very slow. Only one clerk was on duty (around 6:00pm) in spite of several people waiting. The restaurant service was awful. One waiter for a large room. We finally had to request service from the restaurant greeter. A busboy finally came to take o ur order.

This is hotel has a good location if you need to stay overnight to catch an early morning flight out of JFK. Otherwise, the food is way overpriced (likely because there are no other restaurants within walking distance and so they know you're trapped). The rooms are a bit shabby.

This hotel was run-down and not clean. The room needed light bulbs and no one had even checked to see if the lights were working before we checked in. then there is this very long crazy line they put you in to check in - not good. The food was very expensive as well. Do not recommend and will not stay there again.

Close to the airport, and the shuttle drivers are very nice, they take you to your airline, and give you directions.

This hotel was a good value, but beware that you might wait 20 min for a bus and then be packed on like Sardines, especially if you arrive at night. And also know that you have to take a train just to catch the bus.

Where do i start? the front desk lady was good and helpful. service went downhill from there. the room had rusty light fixtures. the room had a bad odor. the air conditioning did not cool the room. the restaurant was a joke - it closed before the posted time (forced us to eat in the bar), the food on the menu was not all available, the chef (cook???) refused to prepare meals after 10 PM on the night that i was eating in the bar (there were ~50 people at registration some with children that were left hungry), the shuttle drivers spend more time at the hotel talking than waiting for customers on the route,

This hotel is conveniently located at the airport but could use a facelift. The rooms are outdated. If you are looking for a hotel close to the airport and are not concerned about the room decor, then you will be satisfied with this hotel.

Great hotel if you just need a place to sleep prior to departure from JFK. Staff tries to be helpful but needs to be better trained and coordinated. Front desk, security, and cleaning staff do not share information. I missed a 6:30 flight waiting for a Fedex package that had been delivered at 4:30 but the front desk and bellman knew nothing about it. Who took delivery of it? Security. Of course they told nobody about it. Last person I would expect to have to contact about a delivery. Restaurant and lounge very expensive because it is your only option and they know it. Called national pizza chain for food to bypass their expensive pizza.

The hotel is an old crappy hotel. Enough to get some sleep before continuing your travel. We tried the buffet at the restaurant: the salad was rotten! It was disgusting and we ended up paying $28 for each. It may be that we are not used to NY City prices.

Our stay here was very brief. We checked in at 9pm and checked out at 5am. It was only a place to sleep between flights. The shuttle service was great and the bed was comfotable.

We had a reservation and when we arrived there was a computer cliche and it gave us a room which was already occupied then we got a room where the phone didn't work. There was a lot of yellowing on the wall paper and big black hair in the tub...it was sufficient for our short stay but I would never stay there for more than a day. Employees were very nice but a definite 2 star room.

I'd read some reviews prior to choosing this hotel, and not a lot of good things were written about this hotel, but, surprisingly, it was a good hotel - I took a chance, but almost did not. Yes, the rooms do need updating, but, they were still really nice rooms, and the hallways were not noisy. Also, the housekeeping - they're on point with that, they want to make sure that you get your room cleaned. The lobby is amazing - perhaps, that is why they have not renovated the rooms yet, but the hotel is a good, low-cost stay for anyone looking to be on the outskirts or close to the airport. The staff was also very helpful, and there was ample enough parking.

No coffee maker in the room as stated. Only one soap and nothing else in the room. We had a reservation for a king size bed when we checked in they gave us a queen size we went back downstairs to clarified the mistake the concierge ( with a nasty attitude in the top of it)said there was no king size available we had to ask to speak to the manager whom gave us a room with a king size. Dirty carpet etc... Worse Hotel ever...

We needed a hotel for one night because our oversees flight came in very late. I have traveled all over the world and have been in some very marginal places. The Ramada Plaza Hotel was really awful, I have been in better places in the poor parts of India. The lobby was pleasant and the staff courteous, and it was almost like being in two worlds once you left the main floor and got on the elevator. The infrastructure itself is terrible. The walls are full of dents and gouges, the floors feel uneven and bumpy, everything looks dirty and the whole place really needs a total renovation. However, it seemed as though the housekeeping department really did try to supply clean sheets and towels, but there was nothing anyone could do to make the lumpy bed comfortable. It's embarrassing that in my own country, accomodations like this exist, epspecially in a chain like Ramada, which is mediocre, but usually a pretty safe bet. Yikes. Avoid this place.

This was the worst hotel I've seen. The rooms were dirty, out dated and I didn't feel safe. You could clearly hear the person in the next room and in the hall. The TV didn't work and I wouldn't even sit on the bed in fear of catching something. We checked out shortly after checking in!

Our satisfaction with this hotel was so poor we checked out soon after checking in. Our room was dirty and worn. We didn't feel safe. The sound on the tv was so poor you couldn't understand what was being said. The walls were paper thin and you could clearly hear what was being said in the hall and in the next room. The bed, awful! After checking out, we called another hotel, got a much better rate and our room was much more comfortable, safe feeling and clean.

I was ending my visit to New York, the hotel was a great location to stay for an early flight the next day. I got in late, the check-in was easy. I had dinner and the service staff was nice. The only drawback was the TV did not work well. I would stay here again on another trip to New York
