The Madison (a Loews) Hotel was, for me, an excellent choice. I was only in DC a short time (2 nights) and wanted a hotel that was (1) of a high standard, (2) well located near the Orange Metro line, (3) not too far from some of the great sights of DC and (4) reasonably priced. The Madison fulfilled all these criteria. My room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. Although I only had breakfast in the restaurant, it was also excellent. The service and friendliness of the staff was of a very high standard. I would definitely stay there again and not hesitate to recommend to others.

Close to the White House. Half hour walk from museums. Overall, I think it's a decent hotel. Parking is expensive though.

The hotel is in walking distance to all of the Washington sites and monuments as well as Georgetown. There are good and reasonably priced restaurants in the area.

Just a lot of little things that were not up to snuff, i.e., they never replaced the in-room coffee cups (although we asked each day for 3 days). Room service never once picked up their phone line, and trying to schedule a wake-up call was difficult as well. They also tried to put us into a lower grade room, even though I questioned it at check-in (they finally did correct it afer talking to the manager).

Had a wonderful trip. Went to DC for the fireworks on the 4th and to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The hotel is pet friendly and they mean pet friendly! We were given a bag of goodies for the dog at check in which he relly enjoyed. We all felt very welcomed in the hotel. The staff asked us several times if we were enjoying our anniversary, which I thought was quite nice. Ordered room service for breakfast. The food was good, not great, the price was a little high for pancakes and eggs however it was nice being able to eat in the room with the dog. I would go back in a heart beat!

The hotel was lovely. Our room was large, the bathroom updated and we had an enormous balcony. The staff was absolutely amazing. From the moment that we checked in and all through our stay, they were like a family. I am so impressed with the experience we had at The Madison that I look forward to our return. On our last day in the hotel, I noticed a man that was with lodgenet and I questioned him about his job at the hotel. He informed me that he was installing wireless access into the rooms. There is free access in the lobby, although access in the room will be nice. (Although I must admit, one reason I got to know the staff so well was because I hung out in the lobby reading my email. It's nice to see activity in the lobby and for the guests to come out of their rooms!) I so look forward to visiting The Madison again. We had room service everyday and the food was great and the timeliness perfect. Thumbs Up! Loved The Madison Hotel!

We travel at least every month or two. I have stayed at Lowes hotels before and they are generally nice, though I would not say exceptional. However, this particular Lowes in Washington D.C. was outstanding in every way from the time we checked in through when we checked out. The room was so comfortable and came with a massage chair. The hotel is walking distance from the white house. The staff was friendly, helpful, and anticipated our needs, but not in a pushy or phony way. They seemed sincere. I will absolutely stay at this property the next time we are in DC and I will recommend it to my friends and family.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, however the room could have been cleaner, no fan in the bathroom so it took forever to clear the mirror to get ready, smallbathroom in large room = tight squeeze getting ready...

I love the five star quality of the Madison. I really liked that it was only blocks from everything in the city. The service I got from everyone was top class. The room it self was great! I love the Madison Hotel.

The quality of the hotel did not reflect the price. The bathroom had cabinets that were warped and peeling. Our room had a view of the air conditioning unit and at night we had to close the windows because a very strong sewage smell was coming in the open windows. We felt that the Holiday Inn which also has a location we liked would have be just as good for far less money. On the positive side the staff was very pleasant and helpful.

So convenient to all the places of interest. Walking distance and metro distance to everything. Great service. Just check your bill carefully before you leave. They charged us for parking for several nights when we only had a rental car for one night. They fixed the problem immediately and everything was wonderful.

This hotel was in a great location, and within walking distance to many of the Wash DC sights. They also always had cabs waiting right outside the front door, if you needed to take a taxi. The hotel staff was very friendly. The beds were very comfortable, rooms were clean, but alittle small, as expected for the DC area. My only complaint would be, that the walls between the rooms were paper thin. We could hear the guest in the next room on her phone and we could hear her TV through the walls. There was no street noise. We did order room service for breakfast one morning. It was very good, but extremely expensive. We had a $50 food & beverage credit, and the breakfast was about $50 for 2 people.

Overall i had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel. We stayed for 3 nights over a weekend. The rooms are a good size, comfortable bed, large lcd Tv, fridge etc. Although ask for an outward facing room. Nice bar with friendly staff. It is quiet at the weekend but you are very close to all the main sites.

Great great service. We arrived and they had our room waiting. We had asked for a non-smoking room, but when we got there, they gave us a room on the smoking floor. Well it smelled like smoke and I called immediately and within 5 minutes our room was changed. Anything you need they brought to you immediately. The best part of this hotel it is literally walking distance to everything. I would recommend a rental car if you want to go to Monticello because it is 2-1/2 hours away. Wonderful wonderful hotel and trip. Will definitely stay again.

This hotel was very comfortable and the staff was very responsive to our needs. The only issue we experienced was some small ants in the bathroom. I don't know if it's related to the rain, or what, but the hotel needs to address across the board. When we told the front desk about it, they must have sprayed, so we didn't see any for a couple days, but then they were back. The staff was very attentive and greeted us warmly when we left in the am and came back in the afternoon. I would definitely stay there again, and hope that the issues we experienced were resolved.

I was very disappointed in the overall service provided for a 4-5 star rated hotel. I booked a weekend package in one of the Grand rooms, whichs translates to a rooftop with balcony. The location and hotel condition where fine, and the value was okay for the off-season at DC. My biggest disappointment was the extreme lack of detailed service. No turn-down service was provided. Soaps where not replenished and a morning paper was not provided (until I called and asked about it). The concierge was very helpful and nice though, and the room had wonderful coffee makers. Still a letdown overall.

The hotel staff was very hospitable and accomadating. Whenever we had a problem it was addressed immediately(one time the maid did not leave new coffee refills and staff brought it up right away, one time there was an ant problem-an engineer arrived right away). The only complaint I had was that the parking was expensive and I thought it was included in the price-look out for this when you book an inner city hotel.

Upon arrival, I was impressed with the location of the hotel, plus the friendly staff. The blue/orange line of Metro, which I utilized frequently, is just a few blocks south. I was disappointed, however, to discover that the in-room internet service (on the hotel TV) was not working. Access to the business center was available, though at a higher rate of cost. Also, I was charged for parking, and I did not have a car! The front desk promptly removed this from my bill upon my request.

This hotel is located in a nice area, close to many attractions and a nicer residential area. Close to a few small restaurants, Room service is excellent, the rooms were clean and great quality for the price. However if you are not wearing a suit you won't get quite the service you would if you were. That is to say the service in the main lobby gives you looks if you are not dressed properly, it was a little uncomfortable. In light of that the hotel is very nice and worth the rates.

Staff was driendly and, mostly, efficient. We were initially checked in to an already occupied room, but the desk quickly resolved that problem. In all other regards, good service. The location is good, especially for visiting the White House, and the DC metro is within two blocks.

This pentahouse is overpriced for it look and comfort level. Overall it was just ok. Get ready for a cold shower in the morning. You get about 1 minute of warm water and shortly after the temperature drops to "get me out of here levels".
