Excellent location. Best breakfast of 5 hotels on my Italy trip.

Very comfortable hotel a liitle away from the mediavel city centre but classic entrance and service

Hotel is on the Gran Via, close to the shops and in the centre of town. There is a lovely cafe across the road called Kilko which is worth a visit and a coffee shop close by called Spinnato which does great coffee. Make sure you get a renovated room, ours was lovely, very clean, sky TV and a massive shower. Common areas in the hotel are outdated and the bar is old and lacks any atmosphere, also some of the reception staff can be rude and dismissive but all in all I would recommend this hotel. Make sure when you are in Palermo to go to Mondello as its a nice constract to the city.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. The rooms (including bathrooms) were large by european standards and beautifully furnished. The breakfast was a great way to start each morning and was plentiful and fresh. Hotel staff was helpful with all requests.

This hotel is very nice and the staff did their best to serve us. The lobby is very nice and the restaurant and the breakfast are both very good. But, it is in a very congested area. The parking is not convenient at all, and it is expensive. It took more than an hour to get our car out of the garage they contract with. They had to move a ton of cars around to get ours out. Palermo is not the friendlist city to visit. Restaurants seem almost non-existant. However, across the street Klinko was excellent. I am guessing that the surrounding area of Mondello or Montreale would have been a better area to stay in.

The Hotel was very nice. The room was clean and decorated quite elegantly. The bathroom was also very spacious. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was filling. This was probably one of the nicer hotels we stayed in on our trip this summer. We were looking for a hotel near the train station. The hotel is not in walking distance of the train station and you have to take an extremely crowded city bus #101 or 102. After we arrived at the hotel we realized that the bus we took from Palermo airport to the train station would have dropped us off close to the hotel and will do this next time.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel at the beginning of our holiday in Sicily and at the end. Our room for the first stay was on the 2nd floor and very nice (comfy bed, nice sized bathroom, clean) but we were really shocked at the room we were given for our final one night stay. The room itself was huge but it must have been on the grubbiest floor in the hotel (3rd). The common parts had stained carpets and torn wallpaper and our room's carpet was also pretty grubby. The room itself looked really tired too...not nice. On the plus side, the service at the concierge desk was first class, if you have a car it can be parked in the hotel's garage (which is v handy) and the hotel is in a good location. I would stay again but I would definitely ask for a room on the second floor!

It is a beautiful hotel in a great location. The room decor was superb. It is possible to walk to many attractions and convenient to restaurants and bars. Dining in the hotel itself was very expensive. The breakfast included in the price was great, served in an elegant setting.

This is a grand dame. The hotel is located on the water with charming rooms. The staff were very helpful. We paid about the same price for this hotel as we did for some 3 stars. The breakfast was very good and included champayne. I would recommend this hotel as well as this city which was clean and impressive. The hotel was a little hard to find.

Since our stay in Sicily was short we selected grander accommodation than usual. The Grand Hotel Et Des Palmes is definitely grand, yet not overly fancy or outrageously expensive. The hotel is obviously old and possibly a little outdated, but it possesses a sense of history that can't be replicated in newer hotels. I think it would be unfair to describe it as neglected, merely 'aging gracefully'. This is the kind of place you don't bother enquiring about WiFi... simply sit in the bar, order a Talisker on the rocks and enjoy. The room itself is comfortable and beautifully presented. The bed was lovely and the bathroom met with womanly approval. The room felt a little too warm for me, although I have ample padding so others may feel fine. Service was, well, typically Italian. Not bad, per se, just Italian. Anyone who has spent time in Italy will know what I mean. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It is within walking distance of shops (lot and lots and lots of shops), restaurants and historic sights.

We liked the hotel. It's a well know Palermo landmark referenced in novels (Wagner finished Parsifal here). It was pleasant (although there was a conference on during our stay so the foyer was full of delegates all the time), pleasant clean rooms with nice features. Breakfast was an extra cost (couldn't see why as it was buffet and no special menu). Staff informative. We didn't use the restaurant. The hotel is going to be renovated soon.

My stay at the hotel was most enjoyable and comfortable. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and I would come back in a minute.

this hotel is beautiful, just beautiful. the staff was elegant; thoughtful, helpful, just great. i wish i could have stayed there for two weeks. the room was spotless, the linen was top notch (that's how I make my living) there was nothing more you could possibly ask for. they have a tour department; and I believe this hotel is also used for the Perillo tours. We had a superior room; which I'm sure is an upgrade; but I would not trade this experience; it was truly wonderful.

this hotel was okay. There was no alarm clock/radio so I had to depend on a wake up call.

Staselig hotel med imponerende interiør i resepsjon, bar og frokostsal. Også rommet imponerte; lekkert oppusset, men med den fornemme atmsofæren i behold. Dette hotellet kan virkelig anbefales

Hotel Des Palmes ist neu renoviert und hat den Charme und die Großzügigkeit eines Luxushotels der Belle Epoche! Preis-Leistung waren nicht mehr zu überbieten, das Hotel im Herzen Palermos ein echtes Highlight! PS Richard Wagner wußte wahrscheinlich auch, warum er sich dort auch eingemietet hatte!

Hotellet bærer preg av å være en eldre fasjonabel bygning men som har vitret noe grunnet for lite vedlikehold. Du møter en fin foajè men den er det mest oppdaterte også. Rommene er helt ok og du ligger ganske sentralt i Palermo. Servicen er det beste med hotellet. Ansatte snakker engelsk og er svært kundevennlige. Maten er også utsøkt, men det er det over hele dette fantastiske landet.

Bella struttura nel centro di Palermo, comodo per chi di inverno vuole visitare la città, scomodo per chi vuole fare mare. Tanti piccoli microdifetti portano l'albergo a un giudizio mediocre, le camere sono belle e spaziose ma i letti sono rumorosi e i bagni poco curati ni dettagli, la colazione abbastanza tirata via, internet nelle camere non funziona e wireless praticamente inesistente.

Bra hotel med bra beliggenhet. Hyggelig pesonell. Fantastisk frokost og hyggelig bar. Stort og godt rom, velutstyrt. Renhold på bad kunne vært bedre men likevel akseptabelt.

Camere spaziose, ambienti molto ampi e retro'. Hotel pieno di fascino in cui sembra di essere tornati indietro nel tempo. Posizione centralissima.

Et suverænt hotel med masser af atmosfære og aura. Flotte værelser, spændende bar og hyggelige faciliteter. Hotellet ligger perfekt i centrum af Palermo, i gå afstand fra shopping, kultur, caféer og restauranter.

Hotel magnifique et plein de charme. Petit déjeuner extrêment agréable servi dans une très belle salle sous verrière splendide. Qualité excellente des patisseries et viennoiseries, café, jus de fruits..Très classe aussi le joli bar de l hotel avec le buste de Wagner en marbre à l'entrée.

Bien situé à Palerme. personnel compétent et attentionné

Et gjennomsnittlig bra hotell med god beliggenhet. Betjeningen var høfflig og alt gikk som planlagt. Vi fikk et relativt nyoppusset rom som var romslig og rent. Førsteinntrykket var imidlertid svært dårlig. Korridoren til rommet hadde teppe som hadde vært gjennom et hardt og vondt liv. Fullt av maling, skitt og vi vet ikke hva. Tapeten på korridorveggene hadde langt på vei fått samme behandling. Vi så inn i et par andre korridorer, og de så nesten like ut. Hadde de pusset opp korridorene ville hotellet framstått som ypperlig.

Plein centre. Ambiance de début du XXème siècle, décor des pièces du rez de chaussée magnifique petit déjeuner copieux et varié personnel froid dommage !
