Hotel Amsterdam - De Roode Leeuw - Ámsterdam

The only reason you should consider staying at this hotel is for the location, its 5s walk from dam square. Everything else about the hotel is bad, the rooms are small, they have horrible locations and the staff are very unhelpful.

The Hotel Amsterdam really leverages its excellent location. The staff was very helpful. However, my tiny, nonsmoking room still suffered from smokers in other rooms. Given how little time I spent in my room, it was bearable.

The hotel is well placed for Dam Square and all the major sights, but is basically just somewhere to rest your head. Not many amenities, and no bar as such, although you can drink in the restaurant (which closes at 11PM each night). The rooms are very small, but clean and tidy, with very comfortable beds. The bathroom is meant to be an ultra modern wet room, but lack of a decent drain means the bathroom floods if you have a shower! The staff were excellent, and very friendly/helpful. On the whole, recommended if you don't want to spend too much time in your hotel room.

I stayed there for 1 night only. The room was single room, but even so, the room was extremely small - hardly enough room to open my suitcase by the side of the bed. Bathroom was a very strange full on wetroom, where the water seemed as if it was going to spill into the bedroom (but thankfully did not). The staff was really nice, including the night staff when I came back late in the evening. Breakfast was adequate, but very expensive. Didn't try the dinner there. Overall, a good clean hotel with excellent service, located 30 paces from the Dam square, but wish the room was bigger.

Despite it's great location on Damrak (between Centraal Station and Dam Square) unless you happen to be travelling alone then I think that this hotel is not for you. Miniscule rooms with a bathroom that wee Jimmy Krankie would struggle to get into it was that small. Comfortable beds though.

Polite and friendly staff. Room was clean and comfortable although the decorations were a bit dated. Great location by Dam Square and 10 minute walk from the Train Station. Staff happy to look after the luggage for the day once checked out and was able to check in a couple of hours before the advertised time.

The hotel has a great location. The room was very small but usable -- you pay for the location. The breakfast was mediocre at best. The staff was friendly.

Ideal location for young people, at the heart of the hustle and bustle but once inside the hotel it's comfortable and quiet. Not too expensive for a 4 star hotel. I would recomend

My usual business in Amsterdam only requires single night stays and this was no exception. Centrally located hotels have been a massive disappointment in the past, this was definitely not. A warm, efficient greeting at check-in, a clean and well furnished room and all at a price my expense form can handle.

It's not called the Roode Leeuw for nothing! bathroomDoor is see through glass.you can see everything.This issue aside, the room was not too bad, although the decor nicotine pale brown it was clean and as you would expect from a no smoking roomdidn't smell of smoke. not a dble bed, 2 sgles pushed together werecomfy enough.diff tween standard rm & delux room is extra chair & bigger. plasma screen TV, no CD player. hotel website says free cocktails on arrival, we didnt. will save luggage after checkout 11am hotel restaurant serves wonderful food hotel 5 min walk frm cent easy staggering distance of coffee shops&red light district no 9 tram stops just outside. room has double glazing, Monday morning you could hear the noise of road works . hotel is fine if you just want smewhere 2 crash clean& comfy easy staggering of nightlife if you are looking for a romantic getawaythen this is not it. hotel has no charm /character What it does have is an incredibly convenient location.

We booked a twin room. It was not only very small but the bathroom was tiny and narrow with a glass door so you had no privacy when on the toilet!

Good location , helpful staff, some rooms a bit grotty. hairdryers poor, bathroom needed a regrout.

When I was checking out the hotel tried to bill me for items from the minibar (I consumed NOTHING from the minibar) and other random fees.

Floors are uneven and feel "rickety", in the hallways as well as in the room itself. Room heater malfunctioned. Location is good, but the property does not live up to a 4 star (or even three star) rating in my opinion. This is the only time that the rating system on Hotels.com has let me down.

Personale disponibile ma discreto, camere pulite ogni giorno. La camera ed il bagno erano spaziose ma non sappiamo per le altre stanze. Unico inconveniente: la porta del bagno era trasparente. Oltre al costo della camera all'arrivo chiedono di pagare la city tax. Ottima posizione perchè è in pieno centro e a pochi passi dalla stazione. Ci torneremmo volentieri.

Veldig bra hotell med sentral beliggenhet. Vi spaserte til de aller fleste stedene i byen. Fikk ikke røykfritt rom fra dag en som vi hadde bestilt, men de påstår å ha tatt forbehold om ledig røykfritt værelse. Vi fikk dette fra dag to. Kan absolutt anbefale dette hotellet.

Vi fikk et bra rom, mens våre venner fikk et veldig lite rom. Heisen er liten og trang. Ikke hadde vi frokost inkludert, men rett ved siden var det bakeri og konditori. Bra mat her. Skal du kun sove på hotellet, så anbefaler jeg dette hotell.

et godt hotel, beliggende midt i amsterdam, med gode værelser, god restaurent og med virkelig venlig og personlig betjening.

Hotellet var veldig trangt, små rom og veldig dyr frokost. Jeg synes ikke det fortjente 4 stjerner. Man måtte også betale et gebyr på 1500 nok som ble betalt tilbake senere, dette fikk vi ingen forvarsel om! Derimot var beliggenheten god og resepsjonen relativt hyggelig.

A 20 mètres de la place DAM, en plein centre ville d'Amsterdam, accueil et propreté sont au rendez-vous. Presque trop bien pour nous qui cherchions du confort en centre ville. Petit déjeûner à moindre coût dans les cafés à proximité (50 mètres). location de vélos, quartier rouge, quartier Jordaan, tout est à proximité. Très bon rapport qualité/prix.

Kan tenkes å bo der igjen pga beliggenhet. Frokosten var ikke god, heller ikke servicen, med unntak av et par hyggelige resepsjonister. Badet var svært lite, uten varme. Selve rommet var greit nok, med to separate senger, som det ikke var mulig å sette helt inntil hverandre.

praticamente posizionato a piazza dam, fronte bjienkorf(si vede anche madame tussaud) questo albergo nn e male pulito, ben strutturato carino si. i prezzi sono accettbabili ma occhio alle city tax...tanto te le accollano lo stesso...l'unico difettuccio e la reception...nn e che sappiano molto...ma si puo migliorare

Hotellets værelse (221) er meget lille - alt for besværligt - ingen plads. Ved afrejse d. 12-06-08 blev jeg afkrævet EUR. 4,60 pr. dag - ialt EUR 13,80 på faktura nr. 62820 - kaldet "Tourist Tax" - dette beløb vil jeg gerne have tilbagebetalt. Min svigermor og nogle venner boede på Hotel Delta Damrak uden opkrævning.

Vet inte om jag hade tur som hittade ett specialerbjudande men i jämförelse med andra hotell jag tittade på var detta oerhört prisvärt med tanke på läge och standard. Jag betalade dock lite extra för bättre rum.

Posizione fantastica, a due passi dalla stazione e praticamente in Piazza Dam. Ottima accoglienza e pulizia. Un po' piccole le camere... ma ad Amsterdam non si sta molto in camera

Ceci n'est pas un 4 etoiles mais un 3 etoiles tout juste. Etabilissement viellot, sale, mais un personnel accueillant....

Une salle de douche beaucoup trop petite et une insonorisation limite compte tenu du prix !
