Comffortable downtown hotel between Little Tokyo village and LA Financial Center. I got a number of parcels delivered to the hotel before my stay and at my arrival they were all promptly delivered to me. Only two things I was not happy with is that one need to pay extra to park the car at the hotel car park and for wifi internet.

You can tell that the hotel has been their for a while, it appears used, but then again the rooms are nice, with big TV's, and you never have to wait for the elevator. Self-service parking is very easy and it is about $24 a day. Internet in the room is about $14, a bit too much and should be included. The location is good for downtown, but you must keep in mind what part of LA you want to see, as I would recommend taking a hotel within and that area, as distances in LA are very big. A cab to Sunset strip was about $42.

Self-parking was $24 per day. We were assigned a room at 4th floor. Nearby police and fire departments were not sky about using their siren 3 in the morning. The noise would wake anyone up. It happened both nights we were there. The hotel only upgraded the headboard and wall paper behind the bed. The rest of room was dated, especially the bathroom. The bathtub was cracked and covered with stint.

The room was small but comfortable. The main issue with this hotel is that they nickel and dime their guests for everything from the internet connection ($10 per day), to water bottles ($5) and parking ($24 per day).

The hotel itself was beautiful, had a very upscale feel to it that made me feel as if it was the wrong hotel at first. The staff did there job well , not very personal but you could tell they were busy. The furniture in the room was very elegant and the beds were outstanding. Only issues we had were the $24 parking, the mold in every corner of the bathroom, and the fact that the water lines on our sink were crossed. (the one said cold but was actually hot, and vice-versa) Overall we were pleased, nice views, great location to visit Little Tokyo, and be sure to check out the rooftop garden!

So everything I read on the reviews is true. I waited in line for about 30 minutes (like #5 in line) while the hotel tried to check in people. There wasn't a special convention or anything, they were just really slow. I got to my room and its a basic hotel. Nothing fancy. I paid a cheap price and everything was good except for the customer service at check-in.

When considering this hotel for its price, please keep in mind that self-parking is an additional $25 and valet is $30. You could try looking for parking on your own, but to be honest the surrounding neighborhood looked a little iffy and I don't know how safe it is to walk at night from where you parked back to the hotel. My only annoyance with customer service was the front desk, as I was asked to wait several minutes for check in and check out. I felt that dealing with customers and their needs should have been their first priority. As other customers have mentioned, the carpet needs either an update or a deep clean. And I also noticed a black smudge mark on out fitted bed sheet. Fortunately, I was too tired to make a fuss about it. Overall, the hotel was fine for one night stay. But I felt that it wasn't worth the money we paid for it (And it was discounted at that). I would have rather stayed at a motel.

Over all the stay was good and the hotel was decent. The lobby is beautiful but it does not depict the hotel as a whole. I was told the room I chose was newly remodeled. If that was the case the hotel needs to hire a new contractor. The bed was comfortable but besides that the room felt old and dingy. Not a bad price for the area.

We stayed at the hotel for a wedding, and the gardens were perfect for that setting. The room we had was very dark, had poor lighting. The beds were tiny and hard. Only two pillows per bed. The bathroom needed updating, which made it appear to be dirty. The A/C never got cool enough for us. There were others in our group who seem to have had remodeled rooms that were nicer with flat screen tv's, and other updates. The towels were quite nice, which was surprising compared to the rest of the room. There were 3 computers in the lobby that you could use to get on the internet for free which was nice. The fashion district was near by, but that seemed to be about it. For the price, the hotel wasn't bad, and we would stay there again if the price was much less than other hotels in the area. You must get a Japanese Taco at the nearby La Chicken. Also, there is a small parking lot behind the hotel next to the bail bonds place that was less than half the price that the hotel charged.

There was a used towel in the bathroom and a wad of hair in the toilet. The staff was rude and unhelpful, the decor was super tacky and not fitting with the theme of the hotel, which was clearly Asian, but decorated like tacky gold Vegas. I was told the buffet was free, but was not, I paid way too much for eggs. The room smelled, parking was $24 a day with no other choice, the phone kept ringing with on one on the other end, they came to clean the room even though I used the door hanger to signal them not to enter, I was in my underwear just out of the shower when they entered. Everything was wrong, and not just by a little, but by a lot. Things were wrong that common human courtesy and a level of common sense would have cured. Do not stay here unless the cardboard box that is the other option has no air conditioning. Avoid at all costs.

Checking in & out of this hotel was worse than waiting in line for the DMV. Staff was helpful but cleaning staff consistently took medications while tidying up our room. Views & asthetics of the hotel were fantastic but I will not stay there again. On the plus side, having access to the local plaza & market made the convenience worth all staffing issues.

Comfy bed, great flat screen, loved the contemporary Japanese interior design, but the bathroom is from the 80s- the faucets leaked water, the countertop and bathroom fixtures belonged at Motel 6. We found open bottles of shampoo and a used soap bar in the bathroom when we first arrived. Service is excellent. Another bad thing but something to be expected in downtown LA, the hotel charges $24 for overnight self-parking and $30 for overnight valet parking. Big plus: the neighborhood is full of great late night Japanese restaurants plus a Pinkberry.

Was stoked to find a great price @ this Downtown LA hotel. BUT... first off the front desk was NOT friendly, her demeanor changed when she got a phone call on her personal cellphone (and yes answered while I was at the front counter!) and was totally upbeat and friendly to whoever was on the other line. I was there at 1pm (check-in is at 3pm), so room was not ready... let my bags with the bellman and headed a block away for to good eats in japantown. location is great, wished my stay at the hotel was too... found hair on two of the towels and stains on the comforter- even though I don't use the comforter in ANY hotel... I was totally disgusted. and parking on the Saturday night that I stayed there was BAD! parking lot was full (mustve been a combination of the rave that was going on nearby and a wedding)... but HELLO I'm guest! After going around the block twice and talkin to a car attendant got in and parked my OWN car (what happened to valet???) neva eva again... but good luck to whoever wants to try this place out. looking at the other posts, you have a 50/50 shot.

Our stay at the Kyoto Grand was grand! Check-in was prompt and efficient, the room was beautifully furnished and spacious (with a view of the skyline, no less) and breakfast in the Azalea restaurant was a bargain. The only things needing improvement are the elevators (long waits) and garage (way over maximum capacity led, again, to long waits) and irregular bar hours. Overall, however, this property is well worth a stay. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
