Kowloon Hotel - Hong Kong

This hotel locates in the middle of Kowloon Tsim Sha Tsui. Very convenient and reasonable price.

We booked three rooms. One for myself and my husband, one for my two daughters and another room for my sons. On our way up to our rooms the hall ways smelled of mold and also inside the elevator. We were hoping the rooms were clean. When we went in our rooms the smell was terrible. We called each other and all the rooms were the same. We met down stairs to speak to the manager to see what could be done. The hotel was full so they could not give us other rooms. We ended up having to pay a much higher price at another hotel since we did not have reservations. We prepaid 4 nights at this hotel and I am now disputing the charges on my credit card.

This hotel is in great location. near shopping area, train, ferry. Rooms are amazingly small but can't complain for the amount of money I paid for them. Carpet on the floor is a little stinky. Try to avoid using the soap in the bathroom. They leave nasty scum on your skin. I had the concierge yelled at me for not understanding his broken English.

I was pleasantly pleased with the hotel. Yes the rooms were smaller than most, but thanks to the comments and advise from your site, I had requested an ocean view room so that the rooms seems bigger. In addition, I think for the price and perfect location of Kowloon Hotel ( next to MTR station) , this is a very recommendable hotel. Good luck.

The location is great. 5 minutes to star ferry, downstairs to the mtr (subway). also 5 minute cab ride to kowloon airport express. The room I had was very very small so if you are going to need to work and socialize in your room I am not sure the right place for you. If you just need a place to sleep this place is perfect. Also take the airport express to the airport from kowloon. $90 hong kong dollars and you check in at the train station before you board and then go directly to customs when you arrive no waiting in long line at the airport. The service is awesome.

The rooms are really, really small. My friend and I were there for 2 nights and were sightseeing so much and were barely in the room, but when we were, we were basically on top of eachother. The 2 twin beds were no more than 4 inches apart. That said--if you plan to be out and about most of the time, this hotel is just fine. It is not fancy or frilly, but it serves the purpose. The rooms were a bit musty smelling, but clean nonetheless. The front desk staff was friendly and responsive.

The Kowloon Hotel was an excellant hotel, great location, personnel very sincere and helpful. The only negative was the extremely small guest rooms. If the rooms were bigger this would be a 5 star hotel.

Central to everything in Kowloon, good service but rooms are small. I was on my own so it was fine, but a tight squeeze for two.

I found the accomodations for the price a very good value. The Hotel Location is excellent. I would recommend highly.

To be honest I booked in this hotel based on location primarily, easy proximity to the TST Metro stop and right across from the out of price range Pennisula, but was pleasantly surprised by a spacious and attractive lobby, attentive and pleasant staff, a good sized room with a decent view of the harbor from an end room. For the price, considering the easy location, a clean, decent sized room and very helpful staff (the concierge booked our ferry to Macau and they held our bags for 36 hours) this is hard to beat.

Everything was going fine until the day I left. I had to go back to Main China while my wife stayed until the checkout due to a flight she had to take to Europe. The day before I took the precautions to pay any outstanding item and by the time my wife left, she was charge additional 500 and something HK$. This is an abbuse. Not planning to go back there unless they return my money

Felt like I was on a ship the room was quite small.

Although the hotel location is convenient, the rooms are too small and need improvement, the carpets are smelly and need renew, as the hotel is over 30 years old.

Convenient location with everything I needed. Hotel personnel were gracious.

Location is good. This hotel needs renovation, carpet very dirty and tub is old and dirty, bathroom door is wornout and fallen apart. Room is very small

Great location. MTR (subway) is just right next by the hotel. ATM and convenience stores are around the corner. Besides the room is kinda small, everything has worked out really well. High recommended!

The hotel was well located to the shops and transport.The dining was excellent(breakfasts). The room was bright and the bed very comfortable.

Rooms are very clean but very small space. Not comfortable for TV viewing or any activity besides sleeping (comfortable beddings).

Very good location. Hotel services are excellent. The rooms are very small as others have mentioned. I didn't spend much time in the room so it really wasn't an issue. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was well kept and OK size. I would stay there again without hesitation.

for the rate of the room quality was missing, it was not a 4 star hotel service, more like 3 star. location is excellent though. rooms are too small and carpet was dirty

I read the reviews before, and they warn me that the rooms are small, so i wasn't surprised. The rooms are really small. But the quality of the hotel, and the service is superb! I would stay there over and over again if the keep the same rates.

good location, service need improve

It's a very nice hotel.....the staff is very helpful and are extremely polite and are always smiling (they have a smiling contest)....the food is pretty good for hotel food, plenty of choices....the room was very small for the price......but overall not bad.

We stayed in a standard double room which was quite small and offered a slightly below average level of comfort. We spent most of our time out in HK so we were not that bothered about the hotel. If you intend to do the same then I would say the hotel is sufficient as the location is spot on and therefore worth considering. However, I wasn't overly impressed with the cleaniness of the room and the manner of the staff.

Great hotel: clean, excellent bedding, great service from hotel. Rooms are small, but not unusual in that area. Excellent value too. There were 2 beds and a friend and I shared. Starbucks, 7-11 right around the corner. Cabs to take you anywhere in HK. A bargain Peninsula Hotel.

Located in the center of the action of Hong Kong, highly recommended. The rooms are small and the view could be better but the value was exceptional. We could not have been treated better by the staff - friendly and ready to serve.

5 mins walk from the Star Ferry and harbour, and practically on top of the subway, this mid-upper range hotel is pretty good value. Staff are very helpful and rooms very comfortable.

Great location on the golden mile with a great view of Hong Kong

Right at the heart of TST, if you are looking for a central point to stay while shopping and dining at TST this is it. The rooms are smaller then other nearby hotels but the location and the price makes up for it.

While comfortable, don't expect a lot of room. No TV either but after a day of walking and seeing the sites around Hong Kong, it won't be missed.

I've stayed at this hotel 4 times now, for at least 5 nights each visit. It is a 5 minute walk to Star Ferry, directly behind the Peninsula, in a nice neighborhood with lots of local and western eating establishments. The place is spotless and has a very good staff, but the rooms are small. This is always my first choice for Kowloon. Our visits are always for vacation, so I prefer the Kowloon side since the ferry is so close. We don't eat breakfast at the hotel as it costs about USD $25. The carpet is clean but somewhat worn in the rooms. Plenty of elevators.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel is well located in regards to proximity to the shops and ferry terminal. However the room allocated was very small with very little room for two adults to maneuver let alone fine places for luggage. The restaurant offered both Chinese and European cuisine. We chose the Chinese menu which did not disappoint. Would I choose this hotel again, only if I knew I was getting a far larger room.

While the service was outstanding, the food left a lot to be desired. Also, the size of the room was minuscule. There was not sufficient closet space and there were only two small drawers. we were two people staying in the room for 11 nights. We had to use our luggage as a dresser and actually climb over the bed to avoid knocking each other over!

Everything about the Kowloon Hotel is terrific, with one exception. The room are WAY TOO SMALL. The rooms need to be 2-3 times the size. You can hardly move about in the rooms.
