Thistle Manchester - Manchester

Arrived at hotel early saturday, got to check in early. Staff were very helpful with directions etc for getting around. Health spa was lovely. Room was clean and tidy. Location of the hotel was perfect, right in the city centre. Fabulous Chinese "all you can eat" buffet across the road, Whetherspoons pub nearby too. Can't wait to go back. Really enjoyable weekend.

Very convenient for Piccadilly station, very clean and well equipped hotel and apart from our non-smoking room smelling of smoke and the housekeeper being called up to spray the room cannot fault it at all. The reception staff were very polite and will definitley stay there again when need to on another visit to Manchester.

We stayed for 3 nights. Basic double room, you get what you pay for. Nice bed and shower. Most of the staff were helpful and nice. Had a disagreement with a bar staff, which wasnt resolved to our satisfaction, we were just told the conversation was over and he walked away. Hardly 'customer service', quite rude. Otherwise all other staff were helpful

The room was cheap, location good but the room was very small, toilet in poor condition, poor finishings and the room needed a referb 10 years ago, cold as the heating doesn't work. The AC, if you wanted to use it makes a real noise. This room tought me a lesson, don't be cheap!

I was there for a weekend on the beer. The location is good with some good bars close by, plus accessible to train stations and taxi rank across the road. The room was clean and the staff were helpful. I would recommend a stay here and will probably book there for my next visit over.

The Staff in this Hotel could not be more helpful, the bar food is great - we tried a lot of it!! The Hotel is very centrally located 5 min walk to Arndale Shopping Centre and centre of Manchester and Piccadilly Train Station. Only Complaint is that the Hotel could do with a lick of paint, a bit of a freshen up would do no harm.

We were visiting Manchester for New Year and found the Thistle Hotel ideal for us. The location is excelent - close to rail metro and bus services, within walking distance of shopping areas, nightlife and cultural attractions. The hotel is clean, bedrooms very comfortable and well equipped. Staff very professional, yet friendly & welcoming.  All in all, found the Thistle Hotel truly "a home from home" - well done - thanks to everybody there

Stayed in Thistle Hotel for one night and was pleasantly surprised by standard.We got a friendly welcome and found our rooms to be clean and fresh if a little small.Didn't eat in hotel but bar area was busy and modern.Staff very helpful and look forward to staying again.

I found the hotel to be all I needed: clean, comfortable and nice service.

I booked the hotel through the website on the afternoon and arrived just after 1030pm that night. The Manager that was on reception after the initial greeting informed that there seemed not to be any reservation in my name and the hotel was already over booked for the saturday. He might be able to book me in for that night but I would probably have to come down in the morning to confirm if it was ok for the other 2 days. After the 3 hour drive from London and a hard day in the city it was the last thing I wanted to hear. He then checked the system and after about 5 mins, which felt like an hour he was able to book me in for all 3 nights. When i went to the room and had a shower I then stepped out onto a cockroach......took my uninvited guest down to reception but was in no mood to discuss at this point as my mind was set on a beer. I was seen my lovely Scottish House Keeping Manager on the sunday night who offered me a free breakfast as an apology........

Size of room was dissapointing, bathroom was miniscule. Hotel needs an upgrade. Excellant choice for breakfast. Staff were friendly and location was good. Have stayed in much better hotels for same money.

The Thistle Manchester is right in the heart of the city, a stone's throw from the Arndale Centre for shopping and Chinatown for restaurants with that Oriental flavour. Less than a mile away is the MEN arena for concerts and major events. The transport links to the the surrounding countryside and the airport are adjacent to the hotel. If you have your own car there is convenient next door parking at NCP covered carparks.

we were allowed to check in early treated brilliantly by all the staff i left my wallet at hotel and is was returned within 48 hrs with all my money and credit cards intact .location was excellent and the pool and steam room were very refreshing.

This hotel is ok, if you are looking for a place to stay without spending a lot of time in the hotel. Rooms are dark and small, the interior is dated, but clean. We took one of the weekend offers, which was good value for money. For a night out, restaurants and shopping it is good located - right in the centre of Manchester.

For the cost of the room my colleague and I were really unimpressed with the condition of the hotel. Once you left the reception area and headed to the rooms 3rd & 5th Floors, the decor was shabby and not well maintained. Breakfast was not included and we charged for a full english when we only had toast!!!!!

Thought the hotel was good value as it ticked all the boxes and did not dissapoint in any way.

Great location, Enjoyable breakfast, very poor room. Other hotels in Manchester including "budget" brands offer facilities equal or in some cases better than the Thistle Manchester. Rooms are in desperate need of a refurb.

Nice people, quite impressed. The room was very small and old but clean so no complaints. Perfect location for train users, only 5 mins walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station.

Great location - very central, near train and buses, shops, restaurants etc. General condition of the hotel was shabby - rooms are small, tatty but clean. For a city centre hotel the rate we got was competitive. Staff very friendly and helpful.

After having visted manchester whilst going to the Manchester United match, i decided to stay in this hotel and not a travel in which would have been alot easier as it offered a larger range of amenities... this hotel had a swimming pool, which was closed for over a week and i was not warned about this, only one towel in the room, no hairdryer, small, uncomfortable and weathered old rooms, that are in desperate need of refurbishment. Not Impressed, although great location.

After having tried a number of different hotels around Manchester centre I've finally found one that isn't either in disrepair or full of rioting revellers all night. Very comfortable, friendly staff, nice rooms, great central location for all of Manchester's night life.

Vi åkte till England över helgen för att kolla på fotboll. Alltså inga lyxförväntningar från våran sida. Rummt var städat och fräscht, lite skavanker på vissa ställen men inget som störde oss. Ljust och bra ventilation. Toaletten var fräsch. Personalen trevlig och hjälpsam. Läget centralt och nära till tåg- och bussförbindelser. Kommer gärna tillbaka!

Hotellet ligger midt i sentrum. Kort vei til alt. Hotellet har god standard, spes i forhold til pris.

Hotellet ligger meget sentralt og har en helt ok standard...jeg reiser mye i jobb verden rundt og er ganske kresen og thistle hotell kan jeg trygt anbefale!

Middels bra hotell sentral beliggenhet mellom Piccadillly gardens og Piccadilly Railwaystation.
