Hotel Astor Saint Honore is well-located on a quiet street near the excellent shops on fashionable Rue du Faubourg Saint Honore. Not too far of a walk from the Place de la Concorde, the Louvre, and other key locations. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The rooms were tiny but well-kept and nicely decorated; the bathroom was similarly small but clean. For the price, the hotel is a good value for Paris.

Fantastc hotel just a few steps from the Saint Augustin Metro station which was brilliant for sight seeing. We went to Paris for two days in August and did not realise that the hotel restaurant was not open during August as most of the Parisians take their holidays in August. Most of the neighbouring restaurants and shops were there also closed which was quite disappointing. But apart from that we had a lovely and romantic time in Paris.

I have no complaints. I was traveling with my mother (who just had knee replacement surgery) so we have very different needs. The hotel was perfect for the both of us. The bathroom offered a bath and shower with removable shower head. There was ample room around the sink/vanity and we never felt crowded in the bathroom. As expected in Paris, the bathroom had a wonderful magnification mirror (for those who like/need to groom their eyebrows). The room was equally impressive. The safe was easy to operate, although we could have used a man to figure out that darn remote control (a disadvantage to never having control of the remote at home, I guess). Lots of electrical outlets to charge the camera, iphone, and laptop. (Don't forget your converters and surge protectors from AAA). We vacationed in four European cities and this was my Mom's favorite bed and pillows. I liked the firmer beds in Rome (which reminded my mom of the prison beds at the Doge's Palace). If you like soft beds and cushy pillows, you will like the Astor Saint Honore. As to the location, there are great (!!!) Parisian pastries in proximity to the hotel. The first morning we made the mistake of eating a 35euro breakfast near Notre Dame. Thereafter, we enjoyed 10euro breakfasts with the best pastries and coffee you could ask for at the local establishments (even open early on Saturday mornings!). When in Paris, do as the Parisians do. We never ate at the hotel, although the tables always looked full of tourists. Not only would I recommend this hotel, I will stay there again next year. Abientot.

The service is great and the lobby and style elegant. The room was less satisfactory for the price. We booked a suite which we found very tired and dated in terms of finishes. The size was nice, for Paris, but there was not furniture at a standard usually associated with a suite, just two wood chairs and a small table. The bathroom was OK but nothing special as well.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff was extremely attentive, but our room didn't have air conditioning, so I would never recommend this hotel for a summer stay. The restaurant was very expensive, so be sure to hit a patisserie unless you want to pay 25 euros per person for breakfast. The concierge was very helpful when it came to finding quality restaurants close by.

With my mother and 2 daughters (8 & 10) we stayed in a Junior suite for half term to visit the main sites of Paris. We found the position perfect - lovely walks to the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre - and the hotel suited our purposes perfectly. It worked very well for a day trip to Eurodisney as we were a 5 min walk from direct RER train station (Auber). The staff were very helpful and polite and the room clean and comfortable. For a junior suite it was not huge - but really high ceilings and full height windows made it feel spacious enough. We did not sample the breakfast or restaurant but found plenty of lovely cafes in the area instead.

The Astore Saint-Honoré is a very good value for a nice stay in Paris that won't break the bank. It's located centrally and you can walk to most of the major sites. My only complaint is that our air conditioning broke twice. Maintenance fixed it right away the first time, but was unavailable the second time and they loaned us a fan for the night. The concierge is great!... especially if you do not speak French.

Overall we found this to be a very charming hotel with the ambiance and coziness we would expect of a French hotel. Entering the lobby, we found it to be a warm and inviting decor. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Check in was a breeze. Although rooms tend to be small in Paris hotels, we had a deluxe which was a comfortable amount of space and included a King size bed (if you are used to a lot of space, you would probably not want to go smaller than this size room). The room was also very quiet, and well-insulated from the neighboring rooms. The air conditioning worked well and was hardly noticeable from a noise standpoint. The breakfasts are very worth while if included in the room rate (which was the case for us). Otherwise they can be quite expensive if you have to pay extra. The buffet breakfasts were quite good, with creamy scrambled eggs, fruits, cereals, an assortment of breads and pastry, cold cuts, cheeses, bacon and sausage. The location was on a small side street, without a lot of traffic noise. It was convenient to the metro trains which made all of Paris nearby. We developed some favorite local restaurants. The staff was very courteous, helpful and friendly, which made the hotel experience one that we would recommend.

The staff, especially the concierges at the Astor were great! We talked to them daily about directions, restaurants, trains, etc. and always got great answers and suggestions. The room was beautiful but small and the bed was rather soft with bad pillows but overall we had a great time because of the excellent location-close to everything, even the Louvre, which we walked to one day! We'll stay there again, but probably book a suite for more room.

We had problems regulating the temperature of the room - often we had to leave the window open in order to be comfortably cool at night. The room itself was modern, very clean and characteristically (for Europe) small, with a double bed - which was a modest disappointment for my 191 cm frame. A buffet-style breakfast that was included occasionally seemed a bit chaotic during our 5-day stay, with a somewhat disorganized waitstaff, but there was a reasonable selection of foods selected for both American and European tastes. The location of the hotel on what could be considered a side street in Paris had advantages (quiet) and disadvantages (difficult to locate at times). Overall, considering that the hotel was in Paris, we felt that the accomodations were reasonable for the price.

A romantic walk through the narrow cobbled streets, to come to what looks like a nice 4 star hotel from the outside, Once inside the Hotel Astor has an extremely Persian feel, the staff are very polite and the Bar will melt the most unromantic persons heart. Decorated in red with, red tea light holders scattered around, chilled out music and exquisite cakes the bar staff are happy for you to sample. We didn’t eat at the hotel as we found the prices to be out of our budget, however the menu looked good and if the cocktails and cakes are anything to go by, I'm sure the food would be fab. The room was cosy and the room was always cleaned everyday, we also had clean bed linen everyday. On Valentines night we were given chocolates. I loved the hotel, I would definitely go back, but it was extra special because of the person I was with!

My wife and I picked this hotel for our short half term break, after reading various reviews of Paris hotels. The staff at the hotel were extremely courteous from the moment we arrived until the afternoon we left - 4 days later. The room, although not the largest we have stayed in, was extremely clean and tidy, well decorated and comfortable. Due to the poor exchange rate during our visit, Paris on the whole appeared a tad on the expensive side, especially 25 Euro's for breakfast at the hotel, so we ventured out every day around the corner for our coffee and croissant. (several options within walking distance). A Gin and Tonic at 13 Euro's also seemed a little steep, which is probably why the bar was so empty in the eveings. As always in Paris, the geography made it easy to find our way around the city via the excellent Metro system to all the major tourist sites. The only downside of the area itself is; there are appeared to be very few restaurants in the local vicinity, not a problem if you don't mind travelling, which we did, or staying out the whole day. On the whole a very enjoyable experience.

this hotel was situated in the elegant 8th district around the block from the Buddha bar and the famous Crillon Hotel. it located down a very small narrow street (therefore no traffic) and was very quiet. it was beautiful on the outside and on the inside. i felt very safe and we were 5 blocks from an ATM and the subway. we had a safe, mini-bar, AC, wonderful shower, crisp white linens, and decent TV. although we didn't use the concierge, they would've been great. the entire staff was very nice. breakfast was not included and was $40/person (apparently the going rate for Europe) and our room was a little small. this was a 4 star hotel for a bargain, a small boutique hotel that i would stay in again and again.

Just like all Paris hotel rooms this one was small too, although clean and in a great walk-able location. Pros: - Excellent Service - Friendly staff that spoke English - unlike most of our experience with the general Parisen public who seemed to be very disinterested/basically rude and arrogant in helping American tourists - even though we tried to speak French when asking for help - Monoprix (Grocery store about 2 1/2 blocks away) - Relatively close to St. Augustin Metro - about 3-4 small blocks - High end feel to lobby/restaurant Cons: - Relatively speaking, rooms are still pretty small for the money - AC was very very weak (basically it didn't work and they supposedly fixed it - they offered to move us from 5th to 2nd floor) - The refrigerator/mini bar was just a bit better than room temperature (no ice machines - you have to call for room service to deliver or walk down to the restaurant bar with an ice bucket) - Location was safe and close to what seemed to be daily Parisien life (read, not close to any significant tourist attractions) - A few cafes around the metro but the hotel area was not a great neighborhood for restaurants, shopping or hanging around after a day of seeing the sights - Internet worked for only one of the four days

my room was pretty not pokey..i found the concierge and front desk staff to be very friendly and helpful.. the location, mid-way between metro stops and not far from great shopping and eating was a plus. I was glad there was an in-room safe, since a few years ago, my wallet and passport were stolen from my room in a supposedly "very good" Paris hotel. The mini-bar had enough space in it so that I was able to stash a few things i had bought to eat in my room. i travel a lot in my work and stay in much more expensive hotels with excellent services for business travelers. You get spoiled, so when it's your own money, and you can't or won't pay for that level of accommodation, the astor, I think, is a good choice. You get professionalism and attractive surroundings for what in Paris is a reasonable price. My only quibble..they were pretty stingy with the amenities, only one soap for my whole stay, when one for the sink and a different one for the bath would have been nice. there was a nice little box with cotton pads, q-tips, etc. in it. I ran out of cotton pads. they were not replenished.

This reasonably priced (for Paris)hotel stood out for its service at the front desk, the concierge desk and at the door. The room (314)itself was beautiful, with upholstered walls, attractive decor and a nice courtyard view. However, the room was tiny - I don't think the room would have been comfortable for a couple - in spite of a queen sized bed. In several locations, there was less than 24" of clearance between pieces of furniture and/or walls. With respect to location, the hotel is close to the Metro at St. Augustin, but a little isolated when walking at night, especially from areas near Invalides/Eiffel Tower.
