The hotel is in a good location overlooking the water. The DLR station is nearby with easy access to anywhere. On checking in we were upgraded to a penthouse suite at no extra cost! This was a very spacious and comfortable room. We were only there for the weekend and didn't use the restaurants but made good use of the relaxing and comfortable bar overlooking the water. The only downside was the noise from the DLR which starts very early in the morning. Would definitely stay here again!

The Britannia International is in an ideal setting to access all areas of London with the DLR and Jubilee lines within three minutes of the entrance. The hotel views are excellent on the river and dock side, and although some building work is under way next door, this has not a mojor impact on the quality. The rooms we have had each time have been very good, with great A/C. The food is very good although I wish the bar was bigger and more adventurous. The staff are very keen to ensure a good stay.

I was really suprised by the excellent service this hotel provided for me and my family. The staff very helpful and friendly and I would say my daughter enjoyed her time there my only gripe, one had to pay to use the swimming pool, and when the tube service went down for the weekend, it made life difficult to get from the hotel unless you pay for a taxi, which cost 30 pounds. My room was excellent and very clean, they need to upgrade the Televisions in the room and have more cable channels. I really enjoyed my stay and would stay there again with my family.

I stayed at the International, Canary Wharf for an overnight business stay in London. Having booked a single, economy room I was promptly upgraded on arrival to an executive double with shared balcony. Whilst the hotel was looking "tired" and would benefit from a refurbishment, the stay was comfortable, food in the hotel was good, and it was great value for money.

IMy son had an interview for a company on Canary Wharf, as we live in Manchester he wanted to be fresh and not travel weary! As I had stayed in the International twice previously, I had no hesitation in booking it for him. When he arrived he had been given a room upgrade at no extra cost. He was able to do some last minute preparations in comfort and was very relaxed. He was impressed and would stay again. My husband and myself are staying there again in October for a mini break, we love it.

Gave an overall 4 rating just because of the location. Very convenient, at a walkable distance to Canary Wharf. Views from the 12th floor room are stunning. For a 4 star rated hotel, not providing a freezer is disappointing. The housekeeping were impolite, told us that room can be cleaned only in the mornings. If we miss that, our room will be left unclean till next morning. Very bad service.

On arrival hotel reception is well laid out and clean with friendly helpful staff. Unfortunately it stops there. Bar area very tired as well as the room I stayed in which was small with dark over powering furniture. There does not appear to be any rules in the bar which was full of noisy children with no shoes on despite it being 10 o'clock in the evening. On the plus side staff in the Pizzeria could not have been more friendly and helpful.

The location was a bit out of the way, however, as it turned out, we weren't in London to sightsee, just to collect ourselves from a very tiring cruise, and the two days we were at the hotel, we did just that. The food in the hotel, itself, was very good, both breakfast and evening dinner.

Overall this was a decent value considering the significantly lower price compared to many other hotels in London. The location is not anywhere near as bad as some people make it sound, it is only a 15 minute train ride into the city. However, it is definitely NOT a 4-star hotel, and as many other reviewers have noted, the quality of the mattresses was not acceptable. If they only fixed those, I would have no problems recommending this hotel.

Hotel decor was dated and very tired. If all rooms are the same as ours then then the hotel is in need of a major refurb. Apart from that the room was clean and tidy and the views from the 13th floor where our room was situated were fantastic. Excellent location for canary wharf and the O2.

The bed was on a box spring and a bed sheet on it. Hard as a rock. The people that worked there were rude and could care less about us staying. No iron in the room and asked for one had to call 3 times to get one and even then it took over 3 hours. Charged me for ice if you can believe that. Asked for directions and the hotel employee told me to go in a totally different direction and when I got back told and he said and I quote “did you find it then what is the problem?” I told him I had to ask someone on the street for the right directions. This stay once one of the worst stays in my life and if given the choice of a box on the side of the street and going back I would pick the box.

The bed was the most uncomfortable that we stayed in in our 3 week europe vacation spanning the british isles. Also the water from the sink had a horrible smell comming from it. Thankfully the shower didn't have teh same smell comming from it. Everything costs money to use be it the gym for 2 pounds or have one garment washed for 5 pounds. THere are 2 restaurants inside one buffet and one pizzeria both were good. The airconditioner in the room also worked great. No one helped us with our baggage as we went in. Really the worst hotel experience i've had anywhere. We did get a cheaper double room.

Overnight Car Parking £15 which is OK for the area. From changing my room type en-route to the hotel it was nice to discover that the communication had reached the front desk which allowed a speedy and efficient check-in. Although the carpets of the upper floors of the hotel are a bit worn, the hotel in general is very clean, and friendly. Happy-Hour 5-8pm in the bar, well this is always a plus in any hotel in London! The gym/swimming pool was well managed and friendly Breakfast was fresh and varied and you could probably eat all morning if you were that way inclined. Location is good for Canary Wharf / East London.

This was a nice hotel that seemed to be popular with the travel companies catering to young adults (mainly high school) as well as business travelers. It is a short walk to the DLR station that connects to the underground. I stayed here on a visit to the O2 arena and found it to be very convenient. A taxi ride was 20 pounds, you could also take the underground much cheaper. (the line was down for repairs when I went, so check for scheduled outages) The late night offerings from both the bar and food service were great. On check in, I was "upgraded" to a deluxe room that had a great view overlooking the canal. I was told by another guest that my room was much larger than the standard room that he had. (and I paid much less!) All in all a pleasant experience at a great price.

My husband and I arranged a one night stay at this hotel while touring London. I was not inpressed with the room, the decor was out-dated, offered a poor view, the bed was rock hard, and the hotel staff, while polite were not at all helpful The amenties were not what I expected for a 4-star ranked hotel. The climate control was a higher fee for the night, but it did not seem to work well. I asked for additional beddding and was told that the housekeeping staff had gone home for the day. I did not sleep well and the lack of clock (with alarm or not) was another fault. The hotel was ranked as a four-star, but I have stayed in two-stars which were much cleanier, more accomadating, and offered better amenities. I would not stay in this hotel again and would not recommed to anyone. It is not worth the high fees.

The hotel itself was ok!! Not what i expected for a hotel in Canary Wharf though!! Service was rediculous, had to ring reception 3 times to get an iron delivered to my room (was about a 45 minute wait). Also thought that the price of parking over night was absolutely rediculous. Guests should not have to pay to have the privelage to park. The price was roughly £25 per night. Would never stay at this hotel again.

I read the reviews on this hotel (AFTER I booked it!) so was a little nervous telling my daugther who was travelling with me to expect it to be 'a dump'. We approached the hotel on foot from Canary Wharf and was not over-impressed - it looked like a dilapidated office building! However, once inside, it was okay. The reception staff were polite and helpful but I opened the door to our room with some trepidation....What a pleasant surprise! The room was large, bright, comfortable and CLEAN!! The carpet was obviously new, as were the bathroom fittings and bath itself. There was an over-bath power shower, crisp white cotton bed linen and very comfortable beds. The only problem we had was that the air conditioning wasn't working properly and it was a very warm day. I complained to reception and they sent someone up right away and he 'fixed' it by opening the windows for us which was fine (until it rained later on and the rain came in!) We didn't eat in the hotel so cannot comment on the restaurant. However, there were plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Most importantly, the hotel is close to the o2 Arena (excellent view of it from our window!) which was the main reason I chose it. Overall, yes, the hotel could do with further refurbishment, but my daughter and I had a wonderful time, at the (Beyonce) concert, AND at the hotel! I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I was attending another event at the o2 Arena in the future.

Really handy for transport links (if they are running) the breakfast food was great. there are many local bars and resteraunts which offer great food and, being out of the city and in the financial ditrict are not too packed nor full of yobs! The service in the hotel, espescially on reception was exceptional. The hotel is very nice, clean and tidy but in my opinion it is just about du a refurbishment. some of the decor is a little worn and dated but we had an excellent weekend nonetheless.

We were very close to the 02 arena where we were seeing a concert that evening. However after coming back late we were shocked at the continual knocking at our door from 8am from the cleaner. When I did open the door, she was down the corrider. Considering we were only staying one night, there was no need for cleaning the next morning.
