Always an elegant hotel. Disappointed this time..was staying overnight going into surgery @ 5:00 AM next day. Never slept...workers down outside our window ALL night...lights, huge machines lifing cement etc. Much much much noise and when I called to inquire if they were leaving person said were there until 4:00AM. They obviously had this planned and still put us in that room directly above it...Very very very disappointed. Beautiful hotel but no sleep leaves one with bad feelings..feel something should be done about compensating for not sleeping all night the night before my surgery

The Taj Boston is a beautiful hotel with Old World charm and is located right across from the public gardens. The staff is curteous and willing to accomodate. The price for parking is too expensive, and I think it should be half the cost if you stay at the hotel. The room was clean and a very comfortable size. I would stay there again.

I travel to Boston occasionally both on business and for pleasure. I have stayed at the Taj on three separate occasions and have been extremely pleased each time wtih the quality of the rooms, the demeanor and attitude of those at the desk, concierge, restaurant. They all make you feel special. The valets are extremely nice AND timely. Your car is there exactly when requested. Location is superb to all the shops on Newberry and the Boston Gardens across the street are delightful to relax in. A true treat each and every time I stay here.

Large room, nicely furnished, but bath wasn't perfectly clean...hairs behind bath faucet. Newbury Street side of hotel, tree wells empty...and lantern broken. Arlington Street side of hotel...poor plantings. Hotel needs spit and polish and discipline. Bar charming and bartenders know their work.

The Taj Boston Hotel, formerly the Ritz-Carlton exceeded our expectations. I've stayed in similarly priced hotels all around the world, and the professionalism of the staff, location, and size and features of the room would compel me to stay again if I visit Boston.

Always exceeding our expectations. Looking forward to our next stay. It would be difficult to stay anywhere else when visiting Boston.

The Taj Boston is in a perfect location! The subway stop is within one block and the start of the Freedom Trail was also within walking distance. Great shopping started right at our front door. Overall the hotel was fairly priced for our needs, but there was no coffee pot in the room which means we had to get dressed and head downstairs to the Cafe to get a $4 cup of coffee (taste was good). The bathroom was well appointed but very small--had to close the bathroom door to use the toilet. The shower pressure was very good considering we were up on the 15th floor. The final thing I found odd was that our bed had only a fitted sheet and a duvet. There was no top sheet so we requested one everyday during our stay. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay especially because the hotel's proximity to the Charles River and the 4th of July festivities.

We booked this hotel at the last minute and when you do that you are always concerned. The Taj Boston is everything you would expect. Great staff, and a wonderful area of boston that is close to shops, restaurants, and sites.

The Taj was a perfect place to stay on the 4th of July.Very happy there. Room a bit noisy from mechanical noises throughout the night. Staff was wonderfully accommodating. Only issue is that I was searching for a hotel room with 2 beds. The first look at hotels.com indicated "1 king or 2 double" . When you go to book, it indicates that 2 double beds are not guaranteed, information I really needed when I was searching. The Taj provided us with 2 folding beds when asked, making for tight quarters.

Booked 2 rooms for the 4th of July weekend to move my son into Boston for the summer. I booked a premier room overloking the Public Gardens for my wife & I , & a standard interior view room for my daughter. Both rooms were nice, but the interior room, costing ~ $100 less per night was much more spacious ( seperate commode, huge bath, sitting area & 4 poster bed ), versus our fairly cramped room overlooking the park which you really couldn't see because of the overgrown trees. Granted, the interior view room overlooked the roof, but I think it was a much better value. Otherwise no complaints, good service, great location.

Everything about the hotel was very nice. We were surprised by how we had to jump out of the car and grab all our luggage when we pulled up for valet service. Also to discover they parked our car on the street beside the hotel and we paid quite a fee for the parking. Breakfast was also quite pricey. Being adjacent to the Boston Public Gardens was lovely - walking around such a beautiful outdoor place in the middle of the city.

Excellent location. Really comfie bed. Nice view. No coffee maker in room, but staff provided one, and an empty mini-fridge.

old hotel. clean, etc but not as "first class" as i expected.

The best thing about the Taj is the location. Room was OK, comfortable and clean but the rate is a little on the expensive side. This is an old hotel, lobby and restaurants give a better impression than the rooms; they are dated. Strange that the bathroom did not have an electrical outlet.

Newbury Street, Comm Ave, Boston Commons and the garden view make this a terrific location. The hotel does not disappoint.

Great renovation to an older building while preserving the historic feel.

Maintains the standards of its previous "self" (the Ritz Carlton) with a great internet rate.

Over looking the gardens was really nice. Nice turn down service in the evening. Bathroom a lttle cramped, but much like other hotels of similar quality in the area.

Still has the same grand old hotel quality but with enough updating for modern folks. Service was not only excellent but staff from desk to maid seemed to enjoy working there.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Taj Boston for a mini spring vacation. Having never been to Boston picking a hotel in an unknown location is always an adventure. Our stay was top notch. The location is great. Right next to the Boston common and close Cheers. What more could you ask for. The hotel staff was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

Everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations, from the white-gloved bellhop to the four-poster king-sized bed. I will definitely return on my next visit to Boston.

Nice location. Fine quality rooms. But the especially delightful piece was the exceptional helpfulness and courtesy of all the hotel staff...not excessive subservience but a friendly attentiveness...makes for a very pleasant stay.

Perfect location, slight wait to check in was compensated by upgrading room two steps. Bed was extremely comfortable, excellent view of the park and city. Will definately consider first when returning to Boston.

Very pleased with our 3 night stay. Saw negative comments from week previous to our stay but we had no issues. Good service, fabulous location, beautiful facility, clean, well appointed room.
