Rubens At The Palace - Londres

The hotel was very nice, the room reasonably sized for London, and the location is great. The highlight though had to be the staff. I spent 3 weeks at the Reubens on business and spent a fair number of nights eating dinner at the hotel bar. Within two days most of the staff greeted me by name, knew my drink order, and went out of their way to talk with me and inject some of their personality into the experience.

Rubens is a great location for visiting the major sites of London. It is adjacent to the Buckingham Palace and easy access to Victoria Station. We flew into Gatwick and made the easy connection to the train that took us right down to the station. The room was great and the staff very friendly - they helped us with tickets to Buckingham Palace and saved us hours from waiting in line. There was some construction outside the hotel, but they started after we left for the day.

The only negative is room size which is a problem everywhere in London so I don't count that against them. Location is great and price is under valued. The best part was the staff, especially the doorman, Nathan. My fiance went out one morning at 7:30 to pick up a rental car from a place just down the street that was supposed to open at 8:00am. At 9:45 he was not back and I was getting worried. I was just about to go down stairs and ask the concierge to give me walking directions or call Hertz when the phone rang. It was Nathan calling to tell me that he remembered seeing my fiancee leave and it had been a while and he was concerned. For him to take the initiative to remember who leaves at what time and for what purpose in order to keep track of the well-being of all customers was astonishing. The man takes his job seriously and does it well! I was pretty upset by this point so Nathan called the Hertz to try and get some info. There was no answer and I'm starting to think my fiance is in a hospital. Nathan calmed me down by hypothesizing that the Hertz opened late, because they've been known to do that in the past. Turns out my fiance was in a small accident, but was fine. Regardless, Nathan kept me calm and did everything in his power to get me answers. Also, we were going to have the rental valeted for 20 euro, but Nathan gave us a free parking tip.

This hotel is very close to Victoria Station and walking distance to Buckingham Palace, and Westminster Abbey. The staff were very polite and helpful and the rooms were very clean and comfortable.

We stayed at the Rubens on Saturday March 21st 2009. Despite a crowded lobby, check-in was fast, friendly and efficient.. The concierge was also extremely helpful, arranging an early pre-concert dinner at a nearby restaurant at very short notice. Room was comfortable & clean, breakfast quality & service the next day very good. Staff are clearly well trained and highly motivated. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was just wonderful. Staff were friendly and so helpful. I would def stay here again. It made our weekend unforgetable. Thank you Rubens.

I had read the reviews of this hotel before I booked. Unlike others, I found the attitude of the staff to be exemplary and the hotel very clean. The squeaky floors and thin walls are a real problem. Not only do the floors in each room and hallway squeak, but so do those above you. Every time the party in the room above walked, it was easily and noisily heard in our room. Not only kept me awake but woke me up as well. The maids were talking very loudly with each other in adjacent rooms as well as right outside our door. I found this unacceptable behavior, since hotels are usually for sleeping and I was struggling to sleep given the floor boards and the maids'too loud conversations. Management apologized profusely for the maids and it was not a problem thereafter. I recommend this to others but with reservations (Pardon the pun!)

My secound time in this hotel and from now on my Only choise.Exellent service, room inpecable clean. Pat at the concierge deparment was so attentive. A very polite young man from the concierge department took care of my airline departure checkd in bouchers,I'm so thankful to all of them.all services renderd were exellent,and not to forget Nathan that has always been courtious and a perfect genleman.

Room was not large but very comfortable, clean and well-appointed. Excellent location opposite Buckingham Palace Mews so greatfor the Palace, St James's Park, Victoria Station and easy walk to Piccadilly, theatres etc. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Very good full english breakfast served in very elegant surroundings. would not hesitate to recommend The Rubens

Rubens at The Palace Hotel offered outstanding conceige service, desk help, friendly staff, excellent amenieties, outstanding location & food service. Our only disappointment was in our reservation stating our having "double/queen" bed accommodations; yet upon arrival we learned our only choice would be 2 singles or upgrade to king ($80 USD daily); as there are no "queen" beds only double, singles or king.

It was my first time in london and the hotel was so centlal i have never met as nice as staff anywhere. Everyone of them was so helpful. Will definately be back to Rubens

We read lots of reviews warning us of the smallness of European hotel rooms, so we were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room. It wasn't huge, just enough for us. Everything in the room was in great shape. However, the floor boards creaked unbelievably, and the walls are thin. Tough to try and catch up on some sleep in the morning. The staff was most courteous and made every effort to accommodate any request. Very convenient location, right across from Buckingham Palace stables, -- we walked everywhere from the hotel. 2 blocks from Victoria station. Shower worked great, linens and bed comfortable. It is expensive however. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant -- we had to save money somewhere! Close to cafes and shops, but everything closes down early in this area. Definitely not a nightlife spot. The benefit is, that the streets are quiet at night.

alot of places promise the world and then give you a dressed up heap of crap... not rubens. super friendly staff always willing to assist. everything is as promised. they dont oversell themselves. we picked this hotel from the reviews it got, and they were true. it's great.

Vi firade min mans 40 årsdag och letade länge hotell. Kunde inte ha hittat något bättre, perfekt med allt.
