Stayed here after our City Hall wedding. The staff at the desk were fantastic: upgraded room, surprised us with a cake later, etc. Amazing. The other staff...not so much. At the rooftop bar, we were greeted by an inept server (didn't show us our bottle of wine or even let us taste, just poured the whole bottle into four glasses and walked away) who later mischarged our friend's card. Later, coming back to our room, the hotel staff ushering late-night folks up to the bar was very rude when we simply wanted an elevator to our room (they were all being used by the bar). Overall, very, very pretty and spacious rooms and a lovely place to stay. Also -- we didn't, but you can ask the hotel to let you into Gramercy Park next door, which is private and secluded.

Rooms are small but really well designed. Roof terrace is lovely though cocktails extortionate! Decor throughout hotel is fantastic. Main annoyance was rude girl on door of the main hotel bar the evening that we tried to go there - she wouldn't let us in without a reservation despite the fact that it was half empty. We had not been told at check in that it was necessary to make a reservation. Overall though, a great stay.

Gramercy park hotel is very trendy and upscale, but i thought it was overpriced even with the memorial day markdown rate. Staff is super nice and helpful.

Very much a "see and be seen" kind of place. No coffeemaker in room. Tiny rooms but on the par with other NY hotels. Dark, dark place. Dark colored walls, dark carpet and minimal lighting, very hard to see.

The hotel is located a few blocks from my daughters apartment so it was a great location for us. Nice quite neighborhood. The private park for hotel guests is a real plus. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean, large and comfortable. We have stayed at several hotels in NYC and GPH by far was our best experience. Mother's Day brunch on the roof top garden was perfect. The food was good and the service was excellent. There is a club off the lobby so if you want a quiet room ask for a high floor.

I would have to say that the best part of staying at this Hotel was of course the "scenery". The Bar at the Gramercy after 10pm turned into one of the best places to sit and have a drink and take in the scenery. Even Bono of U2 was having a drink at the Bar!

The hotel must make it's money on the Rose Bar. It is always packed with the trendy. The other services in the hotel are horrible. Room service deliver half our breakfast and when we called down to get the rest the guy said he'd credit our account and hung up on us. The upstairs breakfast room was equally horrible. WE waited 1 hour and still did not get our meal so we left. I stay in New York 4 times a year. I will never stay at that place again. The Mercer is light years better.

We were looking for a romantic weekend and we were not disappointed! The GPH is first rate. Not only were the rooms lovely, the lobby inviting with a wood burning (!) fireplace, the bar and restaurants sumptous, but the people! The employees have got to the best in town. We felt like royalty. No request was too much -- even brought us appys when the kitchen at the Rooftop was closed. I cannot say enough good things. Yes -- it is pricey. But, well worth it. After all, what is visiting Manhattan without a little luxury? Our search for the perfect Manhattan hotel is over.

Suite was very nice; staff were friendly. Only complaint was upselling at rooftop bar where the waitress recommended a Merry Vale wine (not on list) which turned out to be only ok (rated 88 by wine spectator)but hardly worth $22 per glass...that's almost $100 a bottle. Hint: there are decent wine stores within walking distance.

This was my first stay at the Gramercy Park Hotel and I was very pleased. I was in NYC visiting my daughter who lives nearby in the West Village and she and I toured through the hotel's neighborhood with its beautiful trees, parks and buildings and Union Square with its Farmer's Market and outdoor cafes. A huge plus is the hotel's 24 hour room service with an extensive menu available 24 hours. The menu is varied and very delicious and the service is prompt and courteous. My daughter and I also booked facials and massages through the in-house Spa and were impressed by both their professional skills and knowledge. The Gramercy Park Hotel truly makes the perfect base camp. Easy transportation and its ideal location make traveling to and from the hotel simple and after a full day of shopping, sightseeing or whatever, you can order a fabulous dinner in your room -- after a massage even.

Overall, the Gramercy Park Hotel was a great choice. At first our room was located next to some very loud night-owls and our AC was broken, but after complaining we were upgraded immediately without any trouble. The staff was very warm, personal, and accomodating. I would definitely recommend it.

Comentado por un huésped de Hotels.com el abr 15, 2008.
This is a lovely hotel with great staff and an excellent location. It is expensive but generally worth it. However, we got a non-smoking suite and paid a fair amount for it. Unfortunately the bed reeked of smoke--the product of smoke from a prior guest getting into the blankets and mattress or the rug beneath the bed, or something. It was really noticeable. That was a bummer given the price.

Loved the hotel, the loft room was very comfortable and plush, the furnishings were very stylish yet functional. Great setup with the tv and the full length couch. The hotel public areas are beautiful and we enjoyed the various bar areas. Service was very good, prompt, polite. The location is great, and the concierge very helpful. The heating system in the room was a little tricky and the room was occasionally a bit warm even with the heat turned off, but all the windows open so that helped. Also, there was some type of disconnect between the hotels.com reservation and the number of nights the hotel had reserved for us, but the front desk assured us it would be resolved. We would gladly stay at the hotel again.

I was in the Avenue Suite that was pretty nice and very like the picture on the website. The bed was amazing, the TVs were good too, and the sofa was just perfect to rest after an excursion in NY. The main issue is the service-room, inexperienced i guess such as the "turn down service" that is coming every evening at 9-10pm to knock loudly at your door yelling "Turndown service" many times hysterically. Even if you order them to stop, you still hear each of their requests to neighbor room because of the thin door between the living room and the corridor... And you can hear every other things that happened in this corridor, doors opening, closing, service room knocking, cleaning, coming, leaving etc. A chance we were sleeping in the other room... Some other stuffs were disappointing : the toilet's seat was split, no pen, no paper, the air conditonning a little bit noisy (but working fine). But still, we had a very pleasant stay of 9 nights. The area of Grammercy is nice too.

interesting, posh decor, but dim lighting and depressing dark wood paneling, even in bathroom. lighting lacking in bathroom. bathroom accessories (soaps and shampoos, tissues, towels, toilet paper) placed on shelf at floor level. our non-smoking room was pervaded with heavy smoke from next-door room during both nights of our stay. room service order lost. loud construction-level noise of pipes in wall behind beds woke us during second night of our stay.
