This hotel is fab (although a little expensive) - we went for an executive room which had a balcony (two actually) and was lovely. No tea making facilities but I took my own. The grand reception hall was fantastic and I prefered sitting in there to anywhere else. Had a fab time and a unique experience. Close to anywhere that is anywhere.

Our two night stay at the Grand Hotel Plaza was far from relaxing. Asked to change our first room because of the small size and poor air conditioning. The hotel obliged and moved us to a bigger room. After returning from dinner we discovered that the air conditioning wasn't working well in this room either. Tried to take a cool shower and the entire bathroom was flooded with 1/4 inch of water. The hotel sent up extra towels to mop up the water. The same thing happened with the shower again next morning. The hotel moved us to another room, this time much nicer than the first two. The staff was polite but the hotel quality was run down and poor. Probably wonderful in it's hayday.

To the front staff at the lovely Grand hotel plaza Thank you so very much for all your help in contacting the airlines for us. Our flight home went without any problems thanks to you helping us contacting the airlines. Whenever in Roma again we would love to stay at the Grand!

We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Hotel Plaza. The rooms were clean and comfortable (although I don't know if this is truly a five-star hotel). The location is absolutely terrific with several points of interest (and the Metro) within easy walking distance. The breakfast was also very good. We would stay there again...

The hotel is on the busy Via del Corso and our room faced the street which was very noisy. On our first day (Sunday) there was a steel band outside the hotel. At night they were filming a car chase at 4 a.m. So we wouldn't recommend it to some looking for a quiet location.

Comentado por A, deLondon, el jun 14, 2008
This hotel has a grand entrance and dining area but the room itself was very poorly maintained. The staff were however friendly and helpful. This hotel would currently be fair value at 1/4 of the price. The location is prime and with a large investment in repairs could make it worthy of its price tag. In our room the bed was broken, the shower rail was broken, there were unpleasant stains on the bathroom floor and in the bidae. The net curtains were grey with dirt, muddy water ran from the taps leaving mud in the broken bath and an old sock from a previous client was left for us. A real shame...!

On arrival the staff where too busy talking to each other to help us. No help with bags and was given a paper card to keep the lights on in the room. We where on the 2nd floor...our friends who where on the 4th floor had a newly decorated room. The 2nd floor is falling apart (Literally gaps between door frames where the plaster has fallen out!) The hotel room is self was a decent size and quite nice. We where there for a wedding and compared to other friends rooms (some paid a lot more then us) we definitely had the biggest room. The location you cannot knock it is so close to attractions, restaurants etc. I would recommend the hotel based on location and room size but it is very sad the hotel itself has been loved and card for enough as in it hay day it would have been magnificent!

The hotel staff is not very helpful. The hotel location is good. The hotel is very close to the Spanis Steps. I expected the Spanish Steps to have the WOW factor and they did not!! If you take the train from the airport to the Station Termini take the Metro to Spagna (line A). The hotel is to the right on Via De Corso. You will save money and time the traffic is heavy in this area. (11 Euros from the aiport to the Station Termini; 1 Euro for the trip to Spagna)

This hotel is a good location, within walking distance of most all major sites, but pretty much what you would expect - an old, tired hotel that needs updating. No way this is a 5 star hotel. 3 to 3.5 at best. As is typical in Europe - some great public areas with very marginal rooms. In this case, the grand hall and breakfast room were very nice. But the hotel staff was very nice. Computers available for use were in poor shape - no printer cable.

We stayed in this hotel for the final 2 nights of a 10-day trip to Tuscany. The location was excellent for walking to many nearby tourist attractions, shopping and restaurants. There was a taxi stand within 1/2 block. Our room was large (by European standards) including 2 armoires, king size bed, sofa and tub in bathroom. It was comfortable. The included breakfast provided a good start to our day in a beautifully decorated room within the hotel. We did not require much help from the staff but were pleased with the service level that was provided. The hotel has several roof-top areas to sit and relax - providing great views of part of Rome.

This hotel is not worth the nightly rate. First they tried to put us in a smaller room, and charge us the price of the larger room which we originally requested. They only changed our room once we demanded what we origninally requested. When we got the new room, the rug had a big hole in it.Water pressure low with a stench in the bathroom. At the continental breakfast, we did not get courteous treatment like other guests. Our car was parked by valet and when it was time to checkout, there was just one person managing the valet center, so we were forced to get a taxi to get our car that we paid to have parked. This hotel is not worth the money.

Beliggenheten går ikke an å bli bedre.

If you want to be able to walk to whatever Rome can offer, this is the place for you to stay. Situated at the busy street Via Del Corso, The Grand Hotel Plaza, is historical and fantastic place to catch your breath. We really enjoyed the roof terrace where we could see the sun set every night, but if you are really thirsty, be aware that the waiter (the only one) have to run down five floors to make the drinks, and up again to bring them to you...shaken not stirred;) The Grand Hotel plaza is over 150 years old, and when you enter it for the first time it takes your breath away, like so many other things in Rome. The prices are a little bit high, but they are worth it. This is the place we are going to stay the next time we are in Rome, although I forgot to throw the coins in the Trevi fontane, I will be back :)

A voir absolument.
