The hotel was okay, but the restaurant made the stay terrible. The first night and meal there I ordered the "ROAST" Boar. It arrived cold to the touch. I sent it back. It arrived cold again. I ordered the lamb instead. It arrived very rare. I asked if lamb was usually served that rare. The waiter assured me it was. Next morning at breakfast in the same restaurant I felt the sickness coming on. I had three days of digestive problems that I know from experience was due to eating the wrong thing. We had eaten nowhere else for 24 hours before I became sick. The restaurant had trouble making it through one meal without major errors. Forgetting orders, overcooking fried eggs three times within 15 minutes, leaving coffee on the "ready" table and not bringing it to our table. Terrible restaurant!! The trouble is that one must explore Geneva and walk a distance to find another. If you want to eat in your hotel, choose another one.

I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental over Valentines weekend (13-16 Feb) and was extremely happy that I chose to stay there! Upon arrival we were greeted by a porter outside the hotel who directed us into a plush, elegantly decorated reception, with large glass walls containing wine and champagne racks from the adjoining bar (very impressive). When checking in we were upgraded from a standard to a deluxe room, which consisted of an enormous bed, seating area, plasma tv, Nespresso machine, huge walk in shower, his and hers sinks, big bath tub and walk in dressing room (to name but a few!). The rooms were made up twice a day (morning and evening). Every night the maid would leave a card detailing the next days weather forecast, along with a small gift relevant to the next day! On Friday night we received gorgeous heart shaped swiss chocolates as Valentines day was the next day and on Saturday we received nicely packaged lip balms as the next days weather was -5. The concierge at the hotel helped us choose and book restaurants for a couple of evenings and was very knowledgable at the local area. Overall the service and decor at the Mandarin Oriental were fantastic. The bar prices were a bit steap but this is to be expected in a 5* hotel, especially in Switzerland! In summary...you will not be disappointed with a stay at the Mandarin Oriental.

Un accueil parfait, aux petits soins sans être trop pressant...un confort idéal, un charme années 30 Shangaï...bref, de quoi séduire et attirer, notamment pour sa bonne situation.

Otroligt bra service och mycket hjärtligt mottagande. Personalen bryr sig verkligen om sina gäster och hotellet motsvarar även den mest kräsna gästens förväntningar.
