Even if the main attraction to choose this hotel is the proximity to S. Marco square, I can guarantee that in the same perimeter you will find dozen of better hotels. Venice is one big attraction and it doesn't matter where you stay, you are right in the middle of it all. The management of the hotel " Panada" seems to have the policy to save on everything: the breakfast is very spartan ( you get one croissant , not two) , absolutely disgusting orange juice that is just some concentrate diluted with water. But the stuff, receptionists compensate every single disappointment. They are the most pleasant, serviceminded and absolutely adorable people. So, if you choose to stay there, say hello to Alessandro, Alex and Davido. They are the heart of "Panada". My stay in Venice was wonderful thanks to them. I felt at home.

The hotel is a short distance from the water taxi at St Marks Square that goes to the airport. The water taxi ride is one hour but enjoyable. The hotel is comfortable. AC is cold. The included breakfast was GREAT. You may want to take a shower at nite, one morning we ran out of hot water. There are lots of steps in the hotel with rooms that may be difficult to find. The front dest recommended a local restaurant that was HORRIBLE. Be careful in Venice, restaurants can be bad.

the hotel is in an ideal location just a couple of minutes from St Marks square and a short walk from the rialto bridge. If you want to sit at one of the caffes in the square be prepared to pay a charge for listening to the music, its roughly 6 euros each but definately worth it. the breakfast at the hotel is pretty basic but overall the stay was good value for money. cant wait to go back

So the single rooms in this hotel are the size of a match box. Never experienced it in my life before. That being said if u are traveling alone you dont need much space and the bed was quite comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. (by the way u could reach the sink from your bed) The room I was in required a lot of memorization as far as how to get there. I kidd you not it was a complete maze from the registration desk down 4 corridors, 3 security doors, 3 staircases (up and down) before I reached my room. But once u stay there 1-2 days you get the hang of it. Hotel was centrally located, good for the price. Internet access was extremely expensive 5 Euro/hr but was Wifi. Breakfast was very good, friendly local old ladies working it. Easy access as if u find San Marco Sq you are in the general vicinity of the hotel. Initially very hard to find because the streets are so small and cramped. But overall I enjoyed the stay. Restaurants nearby, just realize that everything is pretty expensive. There is a McDonalds nearby...but even a value meal is 10 Euro

A fantastic hotel for those who wish to be based centrally, bar staff excellent, breakfast staff perfect, chamber maids great. Reception guys however varied from disinterested to down right sullen, typically Venician then. Rooms are small as should be expected but not shoe boxey, very comfortable, clean and reasonable value if you shop around for best room tariff. If you can get this place for less than 80 euros a night you will be happy.

the hotel lobby wasn't connected to the building that we stayed in, we had to walk around the corner and use a key to get into a door (which wasn't bad, just a little unexpected). the room was absolutely beautiful (chandelier in the room!) the room overlooked one of the main walking streets and was just a couple blocks from the main piazza (which was phenomenal). didnt have air conditioning, so that made it pretty difficult to sleep (even in april)... breakfast wasn't great, but we were more interested in venice anyway :) we would stay here again...

I complained 5 times during our stay at the hotel about having no hot water for the entire duration, the staff at reception seemed to be very well versed at listening to complaints but never doing anything about them. One of the hotels water boilers broke down the day we arrrived and they were unable to get a plumber in to fix it, we only found this out on the day we checked out. If I book a Double room with a bathroom I expect to be able to use the Shower and bath as and when i wish. The weather was freezing during the visit and it didn't help that the airconditioning didn't work, there was not enough blankets on the bed. When i told them this ar reception they checked their screen and said that the room was 21 degrees and the bathroom was 20, i don't care what the screen said, we both had trouble sleeping it was so cold in the room. I was told on check in that the room was beautiful this wasn't the case basic is how i would rate it. It was like a magical mystery tour trying to find our room in the hotel as we had to take 2 (tiny)lifts, go down a stairs exit one building using a swipe card and enter another. The breakfast was as to be expected horrible coffee, stale bread, watery fruit juice etc. The reception staff infuriated me with their constant brush offs. The only good thing about this hotel was it's location.

We upgraded our double occupancy room and got a great room. The hotel is currently undergoing construction in parts of the building, so you might encounter some problems, such as power outages. One night our air conditioner wouldn't work at all and the alley noise prevented us from opening up the windows for fresh air. Our friends had a triple occupancy room, which was very small and old looking and in dire need of updating. Their air conditioner was leaking water all night so they had to deal with a dripping noise all night and wet carpet inside the door of their room. The location is convenient and close to many great restaurants.

This hotel was incredible. You can NOT get any closer to the center of everything you would want to be doing in Venice!!! The location is amazing. I honestly thought I had died and gone to heaven when we arrived in our room. We checked in to the hotel, and were then taken around the corner by the bellman with our bags. We weren't 'on-site' where the rest of the hotel is. But instead we were set-up in a spectacular room with a king sized bed and a luxurious large room. The bathroom was enormous with even a bathtub and jacuzzi. Where else could you find that in Venice? The breakfast was at the hotel and included in the price of the room. It was a typical European Breakfast with bread/meat/yogurt/fruits/juices/water/coffee/tea. I would DEFINITELY stay at this hotel again in Venice and by all means recommend it to EVERYONE! I'm still shocked at how nice the hotel was. The staff is very friendly there and give you great advice for tours around the city or great walking tours to take on your own.

Once we entered the room, there was a strong smell of cigarettes. We tried to change rooms but not only did they say all rooms were non-smoking, they also said there were no other rooms available. Another hotel worker came by to spray our room with lysol. We left the windows open to air out the room. The concierge recommended us to a restaurant nearby, the food was ok and the service was terrible. Not worth the price you pay. But as for location, it was great. For the price that was paid and the Marriot Rewards members, the hotel was terriable. The paint on walls were stained, the shower leaked, the furniture was cheap, the bed was hard and uncomfortable. The internet was not accessiable unless you purchased minutes. The only positive was that the staff was friendly, as if they knew the circumstances that you were staying in and the amount you paid and took pity on you. I have stayed at many Marriot hotels and associates and this was by far the worst expereince ever.

Antico Panada is ideally located just off St Mark's square, very convenient for water buses (vaporetti), major sights and restaurants. Staff are very friendly and speak excellent English, breakfast is filling (eat and drink as much as you like) rooms are spacious by Venetian standards. The downsides of the location are the sound of bells throughout the night and the inevitably high cost of eating out in such a prime location. The standard of finish in the hotel public spaces was good but in our room the wallpaper was peeling off the walls in several places and the room was very dusty. The hotel heating and air conditioning system is seasonal. It blows hot only in the winter and cold only in the summer. When we were there (in late April) the weather was sunny, and our room was too warm at night to sleep comfortably, but it was too early in the season for the air conditioning to be switched to cool. The only alternative was to sleep with windows open, which let in mosquitoes. However these were banished by mosquito repellent after the first night. If you don?t mind these quirks then this is a great place to stay.

Know what you are getting and you'll be very satisfied. This is a great nostalgic hotel in the heart of Venice's bustling St. Mark's square and only a 5 minute walk to the Rialto bridge along shop-lined streets. Very comfortable area and pleasant to walk in even at midnight. The hotel is tastefully done in vintage themes. When we stayed, the room key even came attached to a big brass key ring so that you remembered to leave it at the front desk when journeying out! (In the process of installing electronic door lock system). Room is smaller and shower is tiny, but all comfortable and works great. A nostalgic trip back in time is what we were wanting and so this was perfect at a very reasonable rate. Friendly staff and a nice buffet breakfast made this hotel everything we were looking for.
