Radisson Hotel Whittier - Whittier

Don’t go by the pictures you see on the website. This is a very old hotel. Elevators rattle, rooms and hallways smell damp and ancient air conditioners don’t work. They put my parents on a smoking floor in a smoking room even after getting a confirmation for a non-smoking room. The best part is that the individual on the front desk said it is a non-smoking room as requested. The room smelled like a cigar and even had ash trays placed on the table. After reaching the room, they complained but were told they are sold out and can’t do any anything. However, later when they complained about air conditioning, an engineer comes to check and suddenly a room on 8th floor became available and thankfully they could move. Despite several attempts to reach the hotel manager, they were unsuccessful. Bottom line, avoid this hotel. If you must stay here, request a room on 8th floor.

Hotel has all of the features expected with Radisson Hotel chain. No Valet parking. Plenty of parking at hotel or hotel garage. Good atmosphere, great service, great price.

Overall The Hotel was fine. The cost of the room, the food, the service was all great. My biggest problem was the room we stayed in. Big stain on the carpets, big stain on the ceiling with cracked plaster peeling off, AC barely worked, the toilet would flush when it wanted it to. So again, overall I would recommend the Hotel as long as other rooms where better then the one that we had.

The positive: The beds were comfortable and the sheets felt clean. There are restaurants and shopping nearby within walking distance. Overall you could do worse, just do not expect any miracles. The bad: Water pressure in the showers was no good. Hot tub was lukewarm, at best (the jets did work however). This should not be your first choice.

front desk no clue what so ever,dont care about 100% customer.....i made a reservation a non smoking,they gave me that , i toll them ,they did not do anything,chech-in at 3 pm they check me in at3:50,the room was smelling so bad,and i have two teens with me they didnot care.realy bad experince never againg............

this is a great hotel, very clean and quiet and the area is very safe to walk around with the family, there are a lot of stores close by in case you forgot someting at home, I will recomend this hotel, me and my family were very pleased with the room service, I will stay in this hotel in the future.

The only complaint I have is that I booked the room on a Sunday not knowing that the hotel has a pool party on Sunday that had LOUD thumping music that sounded like the window to my room was open. The party was promptly over at 8 PM just like the man at the front desk said when I checked in, but I was bummed that my kids and I couldn't use the pool that evening.

Hotel is not quite as nice as expected but overall OK. The selection of free TV Chanels is poor.

Great room, great service. Nice parking area. Need to remember Wednesday night they closed down the street for farmer's market.

we stayed two nights in July 2009. The staff was attentive and the room was clean and bright. We had breakfast in the restaurant and the food was good and reasonably priced. There is also an excellent Mexican restaurant directly across the street where we had lunch one day.

Overall the Radisson Hotel Whittier was very good. Friendly staff, great location, comfortable room. Minor maintenance issues (squeaky bathroom door, rattling hv/ac). Great price. Customers need to know about the Salsa Dance and BBQ every Friday night (May thru September) from 6:30 to 9:30 pm - ask for a room away from the patio if you plan to go to bed early. Parking was difficult both Friday and Saturday (dance club inside hotel) - the lot was full, spaces were very narrow. I would stay here again.

I book obviously through Hotels.com and requested a non smoking room. When we arrived the front desk said their were no non smoking rooms available. I said that I requested a non smoking room and he said well when you book with anyone other than the Radisson directly you are not guanteed a non smoking room. So, needless to say the room smelled horrible. Then in the morning the coffee maker did not work. I called and was told they would send me a fresh pot of coffee and I also aksed for a couple of danish which he rudefully said well we will have to charge you for that. I said well thats fine. We were extremly disappointed with the service.

Very nicely located to everywhere I wanted to go. Fairly quiet however you can hear when kids go running up and down the halls but that's only happened once. The beds are really comfortable. The hot tub wasn't really hot but it worked ok enough. They need a bigger parking lot. It was very hard to find parking when we got back late in the evenings. Over all, my boyfriend and I had a really good experience there. I would stay there again the next time I go to the LA area.

We only stayed one night but was very relaxing after a busy day and the sleep number beds make it a great place to sleep. It could get a lttle loud if you are on the other side of the hotel becouse of the night club, but it was not a problem in our room.

where do i begin, we booked in more than month in advance for non smoking guess what we got a room that smelt horrible like a ash tray, the outlets in the bathroom would work when they wanted to, some of the appliances where dirty smeared with candy of some kind, we had requested an extra towle for the morning the staff said he would make sure we got it but never recieved it, lets just say i did not like my stay at all needs so much improvement.

A few things: we tried to get our hotel room with non-smoking, and no rooms were available. We ended up with a smoking room, and my boyfriend and I both do not smoke. We arrived half an hour after check in time, and they wanted us to wait 20 more minutes to get our room that wasn't even going to be the room type we requested. We also noticed that the cleanliness of the room was not at its top shape. The handle of the shower was broken. The phone was not working, so we could not call the front desk. We had to use a cell phone. We wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The neighborhood is beautiful, the hotel is a bit dated. The hotel has a club in it and the parking is HORRIBLE!!!! The AC did not work, the bathroom sink was SSSSLLLLOOWWWWW and the sleepnumber bed was WACK. I would stay again and seriously hope not to receive the same room....

when i make my reservation i requested with microwave and refrigerator which hotel management mentioned that has been arranged. we went there first they said that they donot have and then we insisted on they mentioned it will be extra 15 $ per day? ridiculous.

It was impossible for us to even hear the television because music was blasting from the pool area. I let the staff know and they said they would try their best to move us, but nothing was done. I was very disappointed because I'm sure others complained as well and it was brushed off. For this reason, I will not stay again!As far as the hotel was concerned, it was comfortable and well-kept. There were also shops and restaurants in walking distance that was very convenient. My only complaint was that the hotel seemed to be hosting a party every single night that we were there.

Pleasent surprise. Hotel showed it's age a little but was kept up very well and was clean. Room was a non-smoking room without a hint of odor and was very clean. Also very quiet. The Sleep Number Bed (had not requested one but was upgraded)did not impress me but was comfortable. Had dinner in the bar. The food was slightly over priced, but the portions were generous and were quite tasty. All in all a very good experience.

This was my second visit at the Radisson Inn in Whittier California. The first visit was awesome - I was on the 7th floor. This visit was terrible. I stayed at the Radisson Inn June 16 through June 24th. I was placed on the second floor. I was at the end of the hall by what appeared to be the maintenance entrance or janitors room (room 227). All through the night I kept hearing slamming of the door, people talking, soon as I would get asleep I would be wakened by noise in this location. I was in the area recording for our studio and needless to say I needed rest and I did not get it. The bed was comfortable, the room was gorgeous the noise over rode anything there. Mornings I would make coffee as I was getting ready to start my 10-14 hours of work. Get in the shower and dang if it wasn't lukewarm. If you are like me and love hot showers or baths do NOT ever let them put you on the second floor. Because I booked this room I wasn't sure if I could change hotels or not so I just hung in there the best I could since I was traveling alone. I recommend this hotel but like I said do not allow them to put you on the second floor. You would think since I was staying so many days they would have taken in consideration the noise or valued me a woman traveling alone to feel secure. This visit was nothing like my first and the staff had changed NOTHING at all like my first experience. I am disappointed with my reservations. I am asking hotels.com to please take in consideration when women are traveling alone to make a stipulation that the second floor be forbidden as a reservation for your clients. The club downstairs did not help any either. Lots of traffic in and out and noise late at night.

Not recommended on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night stay unless single. Club noise is evident to say the least. Stay included a Sunday night and experienced club sound at pool party which eventually moved to club at 20:30 which closed at 13:00. Rest of stay was Radisson comfortable.

Good value for the money when booked thru Hotels.com. Very central convenient location in LA area.

If you need to stay in the Whittier area, teh Radisson is your best bet. Very convenient location with a friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. The rooms are small but well furnished with Sleep Number beds, a desk cnad over-sized chair with ottoman. Free WiFi worked well. The only "dig" we would have has been noted by others... a limited choice of TV channels.

Somewhat run-down for a Radisson. ATM not functioning. Charge for computer service in Business Center. Friendly service!

There was problems with the room door, we requested a room without a sleep number bed because the last time there the bed didn't work on both sides and got a sleep number again. Staff was unenthusiastic to help with any issues.

Overall, I didn't understand the concept behind the bed number remote. But it was comfortable enough for me. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was close to where we wanted to be and the staff was very friendly. The room was clean.

I've been to a few Radissons over the years and I have to say I was disappointed by this one. I called 2 days ahead to make sure I was going to get the room I wanted, Smoking-King-w/fridge(addtl $10). So I finally get to the hotel, which was no where near a freeway, and check-in... or at least try. Somehow they had me in a non-smoking twin room... yeah I wasnt happy. The young lady at the desk did change my room and I was off. The room door dragged on the carpet so you couldn't open it all the way. The linens looked worn but were clean and the sleep number bed didn't work... that was pointless. It was hot and I turned the a/c unit on high but the room never got below maybe 74 degrees, talk about uncomfortable. It took them an hour to deliver the fridge which looked horrible, smelled, and took forever to cool. By this time my beer and sodas were warm... I was not a happy camper. Maybe 4 buttons on the remote worked, stains on the chair and walls. And to top it all off, when I opened my supposedly never used drinking glass it was apparent that it had been used, talk about gross. For a few bucks less I could have stayed at motel a few blocks away and it would have been the same... maybe even better. Sad... very sad.

I requested a king-bed non-smoking room, and since they didn't have any available, they upgraded me to a nicer room. The jacuzzi was out of service, which happens, but other than that, a great place to stay for what I payed. I wished it was closer to the Freeway, but it was worth the extra 5 minute drive to find it.
