Hotel Bolivar - Roma

This hotel has one of the best locations for going around all the sites. Shopping,food and just about everything is very close. The batroom and shower were very nice and the decor was great. If you are going to charge electronic devices,please get a converter before you leave.Their plugs and voltage is different. The TV only had one channel in english CNN. To sum it up, great hotel and I would book it again if and when I was to go back to Rome.

Hotel was clean, good breakfast buffet, helpful staff. Rooms were standard, small Europe fare. Had to juggle our luggage around when getting ready in the morning as we had to store on the floor. Surprised that there was no shower available, only bath tub - however it was manageable. But the location was great and within quick walking to the Colosseum. Lots of restaurants close by. Safe area. Good value for the price. Would definitely stay here again.

You can't quite measure this hotel by American standards b/c you'll be disappointed. We had two rooms. One was quite comfortable (cool) and the other wasn't (warm). One was quaint, the other modern. One was very quiet, the other a bit busier. Peter at the front desk always went out of his way to help or willing to chat about the day's events. If it wasn't for Peter, I would reduce my rating. Roof top breakfast was perfect and provided a nice view.

Although it was very hard to find at first on any map we had, the location is really very convenient! It sits back in a little alley tucked away. But you feel very safe and it's really a peaceful little place. The breakfast lacked real appeal but we found that typical of most hotels in Italy. No one seems to scramble eggs well. The breakfast view made up for it. The bed was not the most comfortable, but tolerable. The worst complaint I had were the paper thin doors which allow you to hear everything going on in the halls or stairwell (which is central in the design). Overall, I would recommend the hotel.

The best thing about the Bolivar Hotel is it's location. It's in the middle of the Historical Center, but tucked away in a very quiet location. After spending the whole day touring Rome, it was a wonderful escape. If you are touring in Rome, I would highly recommend this hotel and would definately stay there again. The hotel also offered a wonderful complimentary breakfast. The room was beautifully decorated with marble floors and the bathroom was modernized as well.

The hotel was lovely- the breakfast was good, the location was excellent. Walking distance to just about everything. Right around the corner from the Colliseum and the Roman ruins. Our hotel room by american standards was quite small, but we were expecting that and didn't plan on spending that much time in the room anyway. It is on a very quiet street and if you have never been to Rome you can't appreciate how valuable that is. The front desk people were excellent and got us on our way to all our destinations. I would definitly recommend this hotel to anyone else going to Rome and would stay there again if I ever go.

WE were very pleased with this hotel. It was clean, the people we very helpful and polite, and the location was excellent. It is located in a very quiet spot, yet close to everything!

The Hotel Bolivar, exceeded our expectations. We were finishing a wonderful two and half week vacation in Italy and Rome was our final city. The Hotel Bolivar staff was very helpful in every aspect of our stay; from marking historical landmarks on city maps, most within walking distance from the hotel, to parking our rental car. Our room was beautiful, as we had the one featured in the brochure. The room was very quiet, included air conditioning and was nicely appointed. The bathroom was modern and good in size when compared with other fine European hotels. One of the other big plus items for this lovely hotel, is safe secure on-site parking. There is a fee. I wound highly recommend the Hotel Bolivar and hope to return soon to this small hotel down the tiny side street only five minutes from the Trevi Fountain.

We really enjoyed the staff here. They spoke English and were helpful and friendly. The rooms were small but clean. The air conditioning was a little noisy but worked well. Breakfast was wonderful! They served hot scrambled and boiled eggs with meats, cheeses, fruits, several kinds of breads. The location was convenient to just about anywhere you want to walk to. We bought the two day hop on hop off that picked up at Piazza Venezia which is very close and visible from the breakfast room. This hotel is back in a little area off the street making it quiet but hard for taxis to find. This was our favorite hotel of our multi-city trip.

We live in Italy and traveled to Rome with our dog. This hotel is pet friendly, but when we walked in with our Weimaraner we were immediately put in a very small, not so clean room. I did complain and we got a room that was better, but overall if we had not been traveling with our pet we would have gotten a much better room.

We were very pleasantly surprised with the Hotel Bolivar. We chose it because it was one of the very few hotels that could accommodate our family of 4 in one room but we couldn't believe how spacious that room was. I expected four single beds lined up side by side but it was much nicer than that. The location is superb, the staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful, and the price was right. The front desk even called our taxi driver on his cell phone as we were en route to the airport to tell us that we had left behind our daughter's Nintendo DS! They held onto it for a week until we passed back through Rome on our way home. We will DEFINITELY stay there again and recommend it to any friends or family who travel to Rome

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Location was excellent... just minutes away from everything. Centrally located to all the tourist sites you can walk to anything. The rstraunt Petricci's right next to the hotel was "Real Italian food".The only complaints are... Breakfast was not the best. The beds were not to comfortable either. We compared our hotel to others nearby and decided we would definitely choose this hotel again due to the reasinable price and great location.

Very well located hotel, only five minutes from the foro imperiali and romanum. Value for money when you compare to other major turist destination city hotels.

Although not the most expensive hotel it was in a great location. The room was a good size and clean. The staff were always helpful. Breakfast was more than adeqate. Would definetley stay again.

centrally located, walking distance to Trevi Fountain, the forums the Colossuem, museums, etc... also very close to a lot of bus stops (less than a minute away). Hotel located in a nice and quiet alley. I've stayed in 6 different hotels in Italy in the past 3-4 years, and this hotel is by far the best I've seen, please note that I don't stay in 5 stars or luxury hotels, just in affordable ones. The breakfast was good, it offered two kinds of eggs, cereals, toasts and other pastries, ham and cheeses within other stuff. I highly recommend this place, I will stay here next time I return to the Eternal City.

great location, the hotel is located in a small street which made it very quiet, near from trevi fountain, spanish steps, vatican city, do not expect an american hotel, expect a small room. The only thing that I did not like was that the bathroom did not have shower curtains...other than that I'd recommend the hotel. Alberto

We found this hotel to be very charming. Great location, close to the colosseum and other attractions. Hotel employees are friendly. Had some issues with hot water, did not get hot until it got repaired in the morning. The mattress was hard and our neighbour walked in and out of his room all night...squeeekk ... baang every 15 minutes.> got no sleep at all!!!! They finally moved us to another room.

This hotel is on a quiet street and is very convenient to the 64 bus which not only goes to the Vatican (and back) but is reported to be a big pickpocket bus, so take care of what you carry. The location is so superb that, in 2 days, we walked to almost every major site in Rome: the Vatican, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish steps, and so forth. And the neighborhood has many local restaurants with good food and fair pricing. This is a special find. And be sure to say hello to PETER, the desk clerk, who is so helpful.

We only stayed two nights but had a great time and managed to visit all the things we had planed to. Room311 tho not large has a little terrace which was nice.staff helpfull you can walk to most places from this nice little hotel,bus from airport easy and much cheaper than taxi.

The hotel has excellent location & proximity to all of the key area attactions. Very close to the Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain and to the Central Railroad Station. We found the room very small considering the price paid, however they did make an offer to change the room. Hotel staff was very friendly, professional and assisted in arranging tours, taxi etc.

I didn't know what to expect it was a shot in the dark staying here...It was also the first hotel we stayed at during 10 days in Europe. Some bad experiences but this was a good one. The rooms are SMALL but most hotel rooms are in Europe. The elevator is also a typical European levator that fits one person with luggage at a time...good for a photo! Peter at the front desk was VERY VERY helpful recommending bus tours (do this -there is no other way to get around quickly)and other places to visit. The hotel was very clean and there is a great breakfast room on the highest floor with a good atmosphere and view. I will go back to rome and will stay here.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during a Rome vacation. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly - they spoke Italian and English. The lobby has a very nice bar, and they offered us free Cappachino coffees. The free breakfast was also above average and exceeded expectations. I selected this hotel because it supposedly offered Wi-Fi internet service, but during the time of our visit this service was out of order - this was our only disappointment with our stay.

My husband and I both loved this hotel. It was in a great location in Rome. Very easy to find with a lot of well marked signs to help find the hotel. The room was gorgeous with beautiful art work and painted ceilings. It was a little on the expensive side, but well worth it. We were also able to eat breakfast at the hotel in the morning for free, which helped to save money on meals.

Excellent hotel and location and service and English-speaking staff ... search no more! But, but (and a very big "BUT")... if you have two kids, it will be doable ... but very tight. The supposed "QUAD" or a "FAMILY ROOM" - as they call it - merely means an extra rollaway bed or two rollaway beds in a room which really only comfortably accomodates two adults. We survived because we were out all day and flopped into the beds late at night and left first thing in the AM. If that is okay with you, then you will be fine.

The hotel is nice, but the bathroom is very very small. We were three people and they provided just 3 big towels, no small towels and no shampoo or lotion. For the amount of money that we have paid they need to improve the services. The breakfast was excelent. The hotel was`very noisy, but very close to Coliseum I would recommend this hotel for a night, as a stop in your final destination

Hyggelig hotell. Ligger sentralt i Roma, slik at man har gåavstand til det meste. Rolig beliggenhet.

Bra hotell med bra läge och trevliga servicemänniskor. Gångavstånd till allt. Kan rekommendera detta hotell. Återkommer gärna nästa gång när jag ska till Rom.

Beliggenheden er super god - lige i hjertet af byen. Betjeningen er meget fin, og personalet søde og imødekommende. God morgenmadsrestaurant med et bredt og fint udvalg. Dog er sengen ret smal, hvilket er knap så komfortabelt, men alt i alt en rigtig god oplevelse.

Plasseringen var ideell som utgangspunkt for alle de sentrale turistmålene i Roma. Vi kunne gå til alt fra Vatikanet til jernbanestasjonen Termini. Piazza Venezia, Trevi-fontenen, Colosseum og Forum like ved. Betjeningen var hyggelig og hjelpsom. Frokosten var god og forholdsvis innholdsrik. Fin utsikt fra det vakre frokostrommet. Eneste negative var at det luktet muggsopp på badet.

Ett mycket bra och centralt beläget hotell mitt i Rom, med personlig och trevlig service. Vi var 4 tjejer som bodde tillsammans och det var lite trångt, men vad gjorde det: Vi sov och duschade där. En mycket bra frukostbuffé med i stort sett allt man kan önska sig.

Godt hotel til prisen - OK værelse med air conditioning. God belliggenhed - meget stille. Venligt og imødekommende personale .
