The actual hotel was very nice. It was clean and nice looking. Complimentary breakfast was very good. The surrounding area was not so terrific, but had gated parking lot. Location to studios and Hollywood attractions was okay, but it took nearly an hour to get to the beach. Overall, it was a very good value for the money.

This hotel is rated average of 3.5 so I was not sure what to expect after I booked this hotel. Therefor I was not expecting any "superb" services but if as long as it is standard and decent, I would be happy. Some reviews mention about the area that might not be very safe, but I have to say that it was very safe. The fact that there are lots of mid-class Mexican/American are around the area, which I'm accustomed to, and with small family businesses with iron bars on windows and doors might give you a wrong streotype imagination and assumption of violence...etc. but the truth was quite different from that. I walked up and down the street during the day and night but it was fine. As long as you have a commonsense of basic stuff when you travel it applies to anywhere you go. The subway/metro station (Vermont/Sanata Monica Stn.) was only a block away, buses are running constantly on both cross streets. There are basic small shops and few restaurants are around as well. The room and bed were very clean and comfortable. I am always worried about the bed bugs but they didn't exist there. Bathroom was clean and standard with all of necessary supplies. It was quiet at night, I can't remember any flaws with this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful right from the begining. Morning breakfast was included in the service, not the top quality but there was a variety of choices of food including fresh made waffles and juices. I go sometimes to L.A. for my business so I would definitely stay there again and recommend anyone who is looking for a good comfortable hotel near the centre with a great price and service. It was really worth patiently spending some days searching for a standard hotel but with a great service.

I was really satisfied with the service i received. Stuff was extremely helpful; anytime i needed directions or some copies - no problem, everybody was ready to help. I'd like to say separate THANK YOU to the lady working at breakfast and making waffles and to the lady at front desk working on Thursday 08/27 morning shift. Thank You.

I wish someone had told me that this hotel charges a significant daily rate to park in its lot- a fee not included in the price and an unfortunate surprise upon arrival. It made the room rate I got through hotels.com not such a great deal after all. In addition, the surrounding neighborhood is unsettling to say the least. The hotel is ok, but its hardly the bargain advertised on this site.

The hotel itself was a lot cleaner and nicer than I expected. The room was a bit small and the carpet had been well-loved. My boyfriend thought the bed was a bit too firm, but I actually slept well on it. Decent shower, room well kept. The free breakfast was one of the largest I've ever had -- eggs (somewhat artificial pre-made patties, but still, protein), sausage, variety of toasts and bagels, juices, cereal, fruit. Enough to really get you going. Parking was easy and secure, and although it costs extra, other hotels in Hollywood charge more.

The hotel is easily accessible to public transportation, which is very reasonable. The red line metro, which is a block, left of the hotel, runs to Hollywood and downtown LA. You can use the red line and change to the blue to green for LAX. I would recommend using public transportation, it is clean, cheap (1.25) and the operators are very helpful.

We stayed here to go to a concert at the Greek Theater. ALl we had to do was walk up Vermont Ave., it only took about 40 minutes and reduced having to deal with parking stress. However, the hotel charges a fee to park in their lot ($16 as of July 2009) so it ended up that we could've just parked at the Greek. The room was really nice, though, and quite large (king). Breakfast was definitely better than most (actual eggs, bacon, waffles, etc.). The coffee was better than most, too.

Comentado por un huésped de Hotels.com el jul 13, 2009.
My recent stay at this hotel was definitely not worth it. My room had a very musty, stale smell. The carpets were stained, the windows were dirty, the bathroom tile grout was moldy in the corners and the room size was much smaller than what a double room should be. Also, the person at the front desk did not even look up when I asked for the location of a house phone, they just pointed a finger, how rude! The neighborhood was somewhat rundown and even scary. I was not informed about the daily parking fee and find this fee to be ridiculous. However, the daily breakfast was very good and worth it and the staff of this restaurant deserve praise for the cleanliness and their politeness.

Comentado por Sandy, deHouston, el jun 24, 2009
My family stayed at two hotels during our LA vacation, 3 nights at the beach and 2 nights at the Ramada near Hollywood. The location can't be beat for seeing Hollywood sites since it's close to Hollywood Blvd. Parking is a little inconvenient due to the gates to get in and out and make sure you save your parking ticket to give to the parking attendent. The hotel itself is a little hard to navigate with breakfast, the sauna, the weight room and pool all being in different locations and floor levels. The hotel room itself was clean and comfortable, but on the small side. The thing that really bothered me about the hotel was that the front desk staff was unfriendly, unhelpful and did not smile. I might not have noticed it so much had I not just left the Redidence Inn Marriott where the staff was super nice and friendly. Every time I asked for directions, I was given only a finger point. For instance, when asking for help with finding the pool, I was pointed down a hallway and told that it would be on the right- not to go down the hallway, out the double doors into the parking lot and the pool would be adjacent to the parking lot on the right. Same type of directions when trying to find the subway so we ended up driving. Not all staff was unfriendly- the maids, janitors and parking attendent were all nice and helpful. This is a good hotel for business travelors and convenience to Hollywood attractions. My husband and son enjoyed the pool, but most conveniences seemed geared more for adults, such as the sauna and Monday night comedy show in the bar. I would possible stay here again, but would not recommend for a family friendly vacation hotel.

I stayed this hotel 2 years ago. Since then this hotel improved and updated a lot. Very clean and comfortable. The location is excellent. Easy to get to Unv Std and Hollywood. Hollywood Blvd and Sunset Blvd is near by. Exit to highway 101 is close to 1 mile. Excellent location. And give 110% for the continental breakfast. Egg and sausage included. Recommended. But there was parking fee. I paid $49.00 for 3 days (I did not aware of this charge when I booked.). No so easy to in&out because you need to push a button to get in and show the ticket to out. I wish there was some sort of remote control for the parking.

My stay at the Ramada was very satisfactory. I chose this hotel for the convenience to LA Medical Center. The hotel was within walking distance so I did not have to rent a car or take a cab everyday. For someone interested in the Metro, there is a stop one block away. The breakfast exceeded the continental breakfast I was expecting. They had eggs, sausages, and waffles along with a selection of cereal, breads, and fruit. I also took the Big Blue Shuttle from the airport ($16.00) and was picked up by them also for the return trip to the airport. The employees at the hotel were friendly and helpful in all aspects of my stay.

Overall, the rooms are a bit small, clean and well kept. Service was fine, and the atmosphere was warm and accomondating to families. There are however two things you should know if planning to stay at this hotel. Parking your car in the lot will cost you per night. You would think parking would be free, think again. Second, the walls in the rooms are pretty thin. Each time the occupants in the next room showered or flushed the toilet, the sound from the pipes traveled right through the walls. Each room has a balcony that you can access. The hotel is situated close to Hollywood Studios via the expressway and nearby Thai Town. If your planning to spend your time in the hotel just for sleeping and want to be close to Hollywood Studios for a reasonable price, this hotel is just right. Just keep in mind you'll have to pay for parking each night!

Staff was professional and polite. Multi-lingual (russian, farsi, spanish, etc...) Morning meal was nice throw-in including hot-baked waffles from scratch, but the eggs were strange (didn't seem like real scrambled eggs in other hotel buffets). The only concern was the location especially the neighborhood but there was gated parking at about fifteen per night which was worth it because you don't want to park on the side street. The gated parking may not be a real deterrent, but keeps people from walking through the parking lot. Didn't see or hear of any issues with that. At least the hotel's not near any highways. Generally quiet location. Pool wasn't heated, but would feel good on a hot day. Bed was very very comfy. Free wireless was very good throughout the hotel with multiple routers thoroughout. Wireless provides by 3rd party company and limits streaming / Skype. No Hotmail or Facebook. Recommend staying here if you're going to Universal and Hollywood at a bargain. There's definitely better neighborhoods, but you'll have to pay at least 50% more to stay there.

The hotel itself is great, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom that I got was great, it was huge, my friends had the bathroom that is posted in the pictures on the hotel.com site. Mine was twice as big. I had 2 queen beds. It's a very convienent place to be, a mile or two away from hollywood bar hopping. The service on the other hand, I dont know what it is, but they just have a perpetual frown on their face. Oh well, I didn't have to deal with them too much and I dont ask for room service so, interaction was to a minimal. Parking is about $15+tax a day, which isn't too surprising since you'll have to pay for parking most every where else.

Overall the hotel is pretty great for the price. It's kept in cleanly condition, the beds are comfortable, rooms are spacious enough, and breakfast is included. It's located right by the metro red line that takes you into Hollywood or Union Station. However, there were a few minor annoyances. The stairs were designated for emergency use only, so the slow, often times crowded elevator was the only way to go to and from our 2nd floor room. The hotel bar didn't open during our 3 night stay (not to say we were really counting on it for our entertainment, but we wanted to at least check it out). Apparently, the hours are at the bartenders discretion. One more thing, the key the front desk gave us to open the sauna didn't work. Nothing major. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in LA.

We were very pleased with the room - very clean and very quiet. The breakfast was excellent. Our grandson was a patient in Children's Hospital Los Angeles and we were able to leave our vehicle in the hotel parking lot and just walk to and from the hospital which was a short three blocks away. The neighborhood is not that great and we hitched a ride back to the hotel at night with relatives. But during the day it was fine. The charge for parking in the hotel parking lot was kind of a surprise and just thought that it should have been posted on the web site.

My friend and I arrived at the hotel early morning and were extremly tired. I asked the guy up front how much the pet deposit was and he told me. I told him we had two pets and signed the paper work. We went about our buisness for two days on the 3rd day of our 5 day stay they told me at the front desk they needed to talk to us. The cleaning crew had told them that we had 3 rabbits, 3 hamsters, 2 rats, two cats, and a dog in our room. When in reality we had one cat and one rabbit. They came and checked the room and saw the cat and the rabbit. Then they told me the rabbit was not allowed. i said its not posted anywhere that rabbits were not allowed and they said it was common sense that their not considered pets. Then they said that we had to wait till the next day to find out if we were going to be asked to leave early. And the cleaning crew left our room a disater. It caued me alot of stress and therefore was not able to enjoy my vacation. The people at the front desk rarely smiled and were cold and rude when we asked them where certain restaraunts and other sites were around us. I will never go there again and I am telling everyone I know about my experience.
