"Good Atmosphere"
Comentado por Melanie, deGardnerville, el sep 9, 2009
The restaurant dining was affordable and quite tasty. The prices in the gift shop were fair. The only thing we did not like was that we were given a non smoking room and when we arrived in the room there was a distinct smell of cigarette smoke in the room. We had to advise hotel staff so we would not be charged for someone else's smoking in a non smoking room.

amenity fee of $15.00 plus tax per day is too much for a hotel of its standard. upon checking in, front desk employee insisted that i would only get 2 days of complimentary breakfast buffet for 3 nights stay. she had to talked with the manager before giving me my third day of complimentay breakfast buffet.

When you book a "good deal" beware of the added convenience fee added at time of check in. It is listed on the web site but in fine print and like anything else who reads the fine print! A good deal isn't a good deal when the hotel adds on the Convenience fee: use of internet, a newpaper, use of pool. These are standard items in most hotels. It was not "Convenient"! On this "good deal" two buffet breakfast were added but the buffet was terrible as well as the service. The server literally told me" you can pour your own coffee" as he put a carafe of coffee on the table. Bottom line: There is no service,no customer service at Palace Station Hotel!

Stayed on night in a 4-might, hotel-hopping stay in Vegas. Room decent and quiet overall (only noise was when neighbors came in early in the AM). Several very nice amenities that moved this hotel up a notch to compete with the other strip hotels we stayed at: Free wifi (costs $15 everywhere else), decent showerhead, pool that is open after dark (10 pm I think), quiet and effective AC. We were able to have a leisurely dinner and still hit the pool -- NOT an option at most other hotels. Buffet surprisingly varied for such a low cost. Detractors: shower kinda small and you can easily flood the foor -- 10% larger would make all the difference. Since we aren't gamblers, and aren't big on the bar/nightlife aspect of Vegas, this hotel strikes a pleasant balance of low cost, reasonable accmomdation, and close proximity. We'd rather spend the extra $100 saved (per night on a hotel room) at a show or romantic dinner. We would without hesitation stay at the Palace again.

It seems most hotels in Las Vegas are charging a "Resort Fee" or similar add on charge. These fees do not appear in all on-line transactions, but are added in during check out. Read the fine print before selecting a room. The Palace Station charges $15 for an extra person and adds a $16 Resort Hotel fee. Even with these add-ons, the total was still better than anything we could find near the airport (we had a family member leaving at 6 AM) and we were pleasantly surprised by the Palace Station Hotel. The staff was very friendly. While the hall carpet was a bit worn, the room was clean (except for a drink found behind the door) and was comfortable. We could hear noise from a room above (kids stomping) and an ajoining room, but it was not overwhelming. The double beds were not terribly comfortable, but OK. All in all, it was a good value and we would stay there again.

I got good deal for the night. I am glad that I chose Courtyard instead of the Tower. I have a clean room and bathroom. The only thing I don't like about the hotel is that they charge $14.99 per night for the resort fee. Compared to other hotels, I paid less for the resort fee.

The rate seemed good until I found out that an additional service fee had been added which was equal to the cost of the room so now it was not a good rate. Staff were unhelpful at check in when asked what the fee was for. Apparantly it is for use of the hotel facilities?

We always stay at the Palace Station, but normally stay in the cheapest rooms; but we decided to get a tower room this time. We purchased our room through Hotels.com and let them know that we would be a late arrival. When we got there, they had no available rooms in our sector; so they gave us a mini-suite. It was awesome!! The only real complaint that I would have is that the A/C didn't make it all the way into the sink/bathroom areas of the room. Whomever designed the Heating & A/C should have put two vents in the room instead of one. You should defiantly stay at the Palace Station

I was at the Palace Station for a two day conference. From reading other reviews, I learned about the extra hotel facilities charge. I wish they would handle this differently, but since I used both their Internet Access and the Fitness Room, I didn't begrudge the extra fee. I can easily understand why some customers would be upset with that policy. Overall, I enjoyed my stay there, and would happily recommend it to others, after explaining, of course, the extra mandatory fee tacked onto the room price. There are several restaurants within walking distance, and the hotel is easy to access. I may be back in November for another conference, and I'd be happy to stay there again.

I consider price when looking for a hotel, and the Palace Station had the best price. I was a little annoyed when I got to the Check in area that there was a hidden charge. I think that should have been included with the original price listed on the site, and shouldn't have been a mandatory fee.

I stayed in the old hotel part of the casino, and was pleasently surprised at the size of the room and how nice it was. The major problem was the shower. It was TINY! It got water all over the floor and was barely big enough to fit one person in it. Other than that my stay was pleasent and better than expected.

The Palace Station is a good bang for the buck resort, just keep in mind you will have a $15 per night additional charge for services. My kids enjoyed the pools and the 1.5 mbp internet connection , while my wife and I enjoyed the newspaper delivery in the morning, the two breakfast buffets per day coupons being included per room. The beds are very comfortable and the maid service keep our rooms very clean. I am personally glad we went for the tower rooms because they are away from any pool noise and the towers seem to be newer, cleaner and worth the extra $10 IMO. Everyone that worked in the hotel as well as the casino were friendly, more so then other places I visited on my trip. Only downfall was the size of the pools seem to be small, but they stay open till midnight which is a plus. The hotel is right off the strip only a few blocks west of circus circus which is great for me because being off the strip its easy access coming and going and not having to deal with the traffic on the strip. Palace Station is a good hotel I recommend it 100%.. as for the listed price I think there should be some bold notation on hotels.com that you will be charged $15 per night for services.

The check in clerk was rather rude. We were charged $30. in extra fees before check in that we were not aware were going to be charged. Not taxes just some fees not mentioned when we booked room on net. The room was very cramped and very very hot. The air conditioner was useless. We had to exit the lobby, and walk through an alley to get to the room. The shower was nice, but overall the room was the pitts. The temperature in the room was outrageously hot. Hotel personnel were basically rude and not at all helpful.

In addition, the added-on fee for incidentals was more than I was told it would be. The fee was for internet connection, long distance calls, soap, shampoo, etc,- none of which I used. The rooms were not soundproof. The one window had a view of a chain link fence and a service truck.
