"Comfortable and clean"
Comentado por K, deLeeds, el oct 18, 2009
This hotel had convenient parking under the hotel and was in a very central location in Cordoba, right opposite the Mezquita. Downstairs in the hotel was a very tranquil courtyard and bar which was lovely to relax in, but the room was fairly average and a bit old fashioned. It was clean and comfortable enough however, so generally a middle of the road hotel.

Awesome location. Surrounded by all the historice sites, within walking distance. Nice restaurants closeby. Hotel itself seemed to have a decent restaurant, didn't eat there though. There is a very lusious green oasis like garden patio in the center of the hotel, like a courtyard--that was very serene to hangout or eat breakfast. The cathedral mesquita was 10 meters away. The bridge/tower were very close too. Keep asking for directions to hotel frequently, people are very helpful. The restaurant at the corner (can't remember its name) had the best salmon.

Hotel is nice, rooms small and basic no views but very clean. Parking is of a premium and the hotel of course cashes in. We managed to park over the river not that far away.

El Conquistador is located directly across the street from the "must see" Mezquita. Getting to the hotel, however, is a challenge. I used Google Earth to plot a detailed map and followed the signs in Córdoba to the exact spot on the map that I had plotted. The narrow street next to the Mezquita that I had planned to follow had a sign "Closed to unauthorized traffic" (in Spanish, of course). I didn't bother reading the rest of the message and sought an alternative route, which took me all around central Córdoba only to return to my original position. On further reading, I discovered that hotel guests are among the "authorized." The hotel staff made up for my self-inflicted inconvenience with their helpfulness and friendliness.

The location on this hotel couldn't have been better. Right across the street from the hotel entrance is the Mezquita, the main attraction in Cordoba. Staff was very friendly and courteous (one spoke fluent English), many restaurants and shops nearby. Everything within a close walk, right near the water. Rooms were small, but clean. Not a noisy hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel... good customer service, great location, good value.

Enjoyed a two night stay with my wife and two friends at this hotel. Dont rely on Mappy or RAC routefinder as they wanted to send me over the Puente de Romana which is now PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC only. You must cross the river on the Puente de San Rafael, then right onto Avenida del Alcazar, left onto Calle de S. Teresa Jornet, right onto Calle De Amador de los Rios (Press button to lower the bollard in the road when accessing this road), continue along Calle Corregidor Luis de la Cerda (Mezquita wall now on your left), take next right onto the street containing the hotel. You can park on the pavement outside and then staff park the car for you in the hotel car park. The hotel is wonderfully situated for exploring the Juderia on foot. Ate in the hotel 1 night and the food was good and reasonably priced. Beds very comfortable and clean.

The Conquistador's location is excellent - I was travelling alone and felt safe at all times in the areas around the hotel. I ate in the restaurant on the day I arrived and both the food and service was good quality. The reception staff were friendly and helpful with local information. Would definately stay there again.

The location of this hotel absolutely cannot be beat. The walls of the Mezquita are literally right across the street from the hotel entrance. We found the rooms clean and comfortable for us, and the desk staff were very helpful. They even arranged for us to have a sack breakfast for our early departure in the morning! I would definitely return!

The location was perfect- right next to the mosque and a stone's throw to the Alcazar. Good looking hotel with great rooms, nice bathroom. However, our a/c did not work well at all, and we did not have a very good night in July. Great deal is a/c had worked well at night.

Hotel's great location is very difficult-to-find by car. The barrier controlled restricted single entry into the rectengaluar road around the Cathedral/Mosque doesn't help either - when you arrive at the barrier you need to call the security to let you in. Even though I made our room reservation in March for a two-day stay in mid-June, they gave us an awful room with non-functioning A/C. The second night we were moved to a much better room. I don't consider this a great "service recovery." They didn't even make an attempt to fix the A/C as they knew it was not fixable. The location is very convenient. The first impression upon arrival is OK. I personnaly would not stay there again but I can't justify not recommending it to others in view of the room price I paid.

When I arrived in Cordoba, I was truly awestruck by the beauty of the city. The Conquistador is literally right across the street - perfect location. The hotel itself is very nice - marble floors, a beautiful stained glass window in the lobby. As I was walking to my room, I was appreciating how nice the hallways were and then I saw a sign that pointed to my room number - where the beautiful marble floor stopped and gave way to an old, dirty, worn out carpet which covered the floors in what looked to be the older section of the hotel. That's where my room was. My actual room was nice although the decor could have used an update. I would request a room in the newer section of the hotel if I stayed there again -but I definitely would. The breakfast was 15 Euros - which seemed too much - although they did have a very nice buffett with eggs, sausages, meats, cheeses, cereals, etc... I just never seem to each 15 Euros worth of breakfast!

Very nice Hotel, perfect location, and reasonably priced. Has a lovely internal courtyard to enjoy a quiet drink. Good breakfast. If arriving by car find out before you go exactly how to reach the hotel. Get a print out map. We relied on Satnav which was useless, trying to send us down one-way streets. Once at the hotel the car is parked for you and getting out of Cordoba is no problem.

Great hotel for exploring Cordoba - everything is on the doorstep. We went in August and were pleased to return for our siesta in the air conditioning! Parking is underground but worthwhile as you do not need it once in Cordoba as everything is within walking distance.
