Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. Got to the room, which was a free upgrade due to our late arrival. 3 out of 5 lightbulbs missing!!! Hairdryer not working, no hot water for shower. It served the purpose as we were only staying 1 night, but rather dissappointing. One very good point was the excellent full breakfast for only a £5!!!!!!

me and my girlfriend stayed at this hotel on wednesday the 3 of august it is lovely and clean however we were woken in the early hours of the morning by people slamming there room doors continuosly not only this but our double bed was the most uncomfortable thing i have ever slept or attempted to sleep in. All this made our stay very disapointing and therefore we would not recomend it its so noisy.

We were fortunate enough to get some R & R after a week camping in Aviemore or so we thought!!!! This should have been the perfect end to a very perfect holiday with my boyfriend. However when we got to the hotel we were so disappointed with the room. It could only be best described as a broom cupboard with a bed. It was very very hot and the A/C did not work. No window or ventilation. The bathroom was outdated and dirty. The headboard was not attached to the wall or bed and constantly banged against the wall, even on moving (forget romance). However I will say that despite all that the staff are very very nice and very helpful. The facilities are very good but very upset about the condition of the room we were given!!!!

I always book through Hotels.com. I have been traveling to Europe nearly every year for 6 years and never been disappointed in the hotels I have booked. They are always exactly what Hotels.com says they are if 4 star or 2 star. The prices at Hotels.com are always lower than the prices would have been if I had booked on my own...which is easy these days with the internet. I certainly will continue to book through Hotels.com. The Britianna Sachas was a lovely hotel very convenient to the main downtown area of Manchester, England. And I would recommend it to anyone.

Location excellent for shops, bars & Arena. Felt safe &confident walking back to hotel from the Arena. Only fault very hot in room as no windows. It was large & bright (air con did not seem to work) but would not book the same if staying more than 1 night or summer.

I liked the hotel...as hotels go this was nice. The room was comfy and the bedding very clean. I booked this hotel as I wanted to use the facilites as I was a woman on my own in a different town. I didn't expect to have to pay extra to use the gym or swimming pool/jacuzi. The exterior of the hotel is quite grim, but once inside, it's like a palace compared. However the stench of urine and vomit is not what I wanted to walk through in order to get to my accommodation. I also found the off-street location intimidating especially at night.

This hotel is in an excellent location just five minutes walk away from main shopping area and huge shopping mall. Close to transport for football grounds etc. Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and comfortable and value for money. My only disappointment is the food. One of the reasons I continued using this hotel is because of the excellent food, especially the buffet breakfasts. I usually would have breakfast at 9 a.m. By that time it seems that its just whatever is left, even though breakfast ends at 10 a.m. Even at 9 a.m. the food is cold and has been sitting for a long time and not fresh. I have also had a couple of carverys lately and they were not good. Im not hard to please by any means but the food is now a disappointment.

I booked this hotel as a cheap room when my boyfriend and I went to a concert in Manchester on Friday. I hadn't expected it to be quite as CHEAP as it was though! Not only was there no shower, there was also no radiator and the room was freezing! Also, there was barely a mattress - it was more like a collection of springs covered by a sheet. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone...pay a little extra and go anywhere else!

The lifts were out of action so you had to wait over half an hour for the service lift to arrive. The staff were patronising, rude and unhelpful. The room clearners couldn't even be bothered to make the bed which had springs popping out of it and finally the fire alarm went off and after walking down from the sixth floor, one of the other guests told us that it was a false alarm and that they couldn't work out how to switch it off so we had to put up with that for most of the night! I don't think I will be rushing back.

If its a city centre location your looking for then this is a well situated hotel. If its a comfortable bed without a worn mattress then look elsewhere. The hotel is currently under going some renovation work and the normal lifts are OUT OF ORDER - you will need to use the service lift and then try to find your way to the room, its not very well sign posted. The shower had 2 temperatures - scalding hot or cold!!!! Room had a window with a half drawn curtain but to reach it you would have to be 9ft tall - this is no joke

The hotel is in the centre of things and very convenient. We we greeted on arrival but a friendly door man and helfpul, efficient reception staff. The hotel appears very grand with chandeliers, comfy lounge chairs and a great sense of space. The lifts looked lovely, with gold mirror finished doors....sadly the lifts were not working and we were advised to take a rather rickety old goods lift with a broken window pane. Our first experience of this was the doors failing to close properly but I am pleased to say, we mad it out alive! However, we felt more comfortable with the stairs from then on. Our rooms were spacious, my companions room was light and airy if a little old fashioned. My room was less delightful, with no ceiling lights the room was gloomy with just the table lights. The beds have certainly seen a lot of backs!! It was rather like sleeping on just a box spring. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The staff were helpful, friendly and courteous, the reastaurant, bar and leisure facilities were great. It is just a shame that the lack of comfort and facilities in bedrooms rather lets the whole thing down.

The lifts were not working so we had to use the staff lifts all weekend, this seemed to be broken for a while according to 1 guest. At first I thought the room was fine, and the beds were comfortable . We had only 1 working light in the room and there was no water at all ,the next morning so we could not wash our hands, have a shower or flush a toilet. In the afternoon the water was back on but the water was a dark brown colour..yuk ! The breakfast was fine the first morning but was terrible the second morning...maybe different chefs ??? Positives-The staff were friendly and the had a 4am residents bar , and the location is great.

Having stayed at this hotel before more than once then I thought I was going to have an enjoyable stay - how wrong I was. Firstly the lifts were being serviced and the service lift had broken down, forcing me to use the stairs (fortunately I was on the first floor). Secondly the room was freezing cold and the temperature control did not make any difference. Next I was woken at 5am the following morning by the Somerfield delivery right below the window which repeated each day. The final straw was the awful breakfast – I have had buffet style breakfasts before but this one was simply inedible. There is free WiFi but this has a weak signal in the rooms so it is suggested (by the hotel) that you have to take the laptop to the lobby or hotel diner. The only saving grace is the city centre location

There is no doubt that the hotel location is good and convenient as it is near public transport as well as shopping area. But the bed is terrible as our ribs were being poked by the spring of the mattress as we slept. Noted that the comforter is very old and dirty. During our entire stay at the 3rd level, no lift is available as we were told by the front office staff that the guest lift is under upgrading and the service lift is not working, tried with one female front office staff.

To start with the lifts were out of order and we were staying on the fourth Floor and we were told this had been all week? The carpet in the room is very badly stained, the curtains were hanging of the curtain rail and the windows were very dirty. The Television was like some thing out of the Ark , and the bath itself was very very badly stained and needed resurfacing. The Jaccuzzi part of the bath was broken, we reprted it and the man came up and looked at it and said and I qoute, Yes, it is broken and left? There was no quilt on the bed only some clean sheets an old blanket and a top cover which was also badly stained. My overall impression is that I will never choose Brittania Hotels again as I was very badly let down and my guest for the night was also very upset with the room. I had booked a double on suite. I could have got alot better for alot cheaper else where in Manchester which as of now I will be doing plus also not reccommending you to any of my friends or my company.

We were first given an interior room with no windows. We asked about air-conditioning and were told that while there is A/C, we could also get an extra fan if it got too warm in the room. We asked for a room with a window, and a staff member who was very attentive was able to move us to another room with a window. The room was quite warm and we opened the window, only to be regaled by a wedding band on the floor below us, as well as traffic noise from a very busy street. The bed was extemely uncomfortable, and we were able to feel the springs inside the mattress. When we booked the hotel, the listing indicated a swimming pool and fitness center. When we went to use the pool, we were informed that there was a 2.50 pound charge per person. We told the attendant that the listing didn't mention a charge, and he said, "Yes, that's a common complaint by the hotel guests"." When we chedked in, we were told that the lifts were being refurbished. We were then told that we could use the service elevator, but when we went to this elevator, it was shut down for repairs!!

Disappointing hotel. Lift was out of use until Aug so had to use the service lift to 5th floor which was dirty and did not work properly. An event was on and so floods of people were in the main reception which made it noisy and had to fight my way out. Breakfast was expensive for what it was and they couldn't figure out how to use the credit card machine in the restaurant for me to pay. Beds were hard and floors dirty - needed a clean. The TV had poor reception and no safe in room. It was fine for one night when I could not get a hotel elsewhere but better in Manchester for the same price. I question the star rating.

The first day there was a wedding in the restaurant downstairs, so it was extremely noisy and we didn't sleep well. The beds were also not very comfortable. However, the staff was very nice and friendly.
