The Ben Doran - Edimburgo

We enjoyed our stay at The Ben Doran. The staff was courteous and informative. Our room was clean and nicely decorated. We would stay here again.

The staff was helpful, the room clean & comfortable, and the breakfast great! If it was located closer to the Royal Mile, it would be an outstanding value.

Although some rooms did not have them, we had a room with a toilet and a shower. It had two double beds together to make a king size and two wingback chairs. Internet access was available for £5 for the entire stay. A full breakfast was served every morning (included) and box lunches and dinner were available for a reasonable price if you wanted them. The staff was outstanding. We will definitely stay there again if we go back. The best B & B we’ve stayed in.

Joseph, the owner, runs an outstanding Bed and Breakfast. Breakfast was wonderful, the room was comfortable, and Carol, the night manager, was outstanding. A main bus line was directly outside which takes you to the Royal infirmary in one direction and the Royal mile in the other direction. Perfect for my needs on this trip.

We had a basement room wich was spacious but sparse in terms of furniture. The bed was a double but we booked a king-sized. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent.

Great B & B. No complaints.

Great accomodations for the price. We reserved a room with en suite bath, but some rooms have shared bath. The hot breakfast was great as well. Easy location to City Center (1 mile walk or multiple busses available). Friendly staff and all around great service. We'll be back and definitely recommend it to others.

Excellent, close to centre, location. Friendly staff, good service, comfortable room.

The staff was extremely helpful - in particular helping to book transporation. clean and comfortable - and definitely good value for price. I would definitely consider it if I visit Edinburgh in the future.

Aside from the fact that it was a tiny bit far from the center of town (maybe a 5-10 minute bus ride to the Royal Mile), this place was great. The full Scottish breakfast was delicious and plentiful, the dining room was charming, and our room was very comfortable. We didn't get an ensuite room, so we had to use the shared bathroom, but each floor has 4 rooms - 2 ensuites and 2 standard, so you only ever have to share with one other room, which is not very difficult. The only possible drawback was that some of the rooms face the road - I don't mind road noise, but some people might. All in all a great stay. Very friendly and helpful attendants, too.

No a 4 stars hotel. but a very good BB! excellent brekfast and a near busstop to the city center.

If character and charm is what you are looking for, look no further. Clean, beautiful, great service, and a wonderful breakfast. Would definitely go back.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this guest house. The room was very clean and comfortable. Only down point would be the winding staircase up to my room. The staff were friendly when I saw them. There was no one about the morning when I checked out. Although situated close to the road and near a crossroads it was very quiet apart from the odd ambulance roaring by. Can organise trips for you. Overall a great place to stay.

Very enjoyable, pleasant staff and delicious breakfasts...very Edinburgh in feeling.

This hotel was a very nice place to stay during my visit to Scotland. It was conviently located near the Royal Mile and great shopping locations. The staff was both pleasant and helpful. I would gladly stay there again on a return visit to that area of the United Kingdom.

I booked Ben Doran because of the reviews and was not disappointed. Very clean and comfy, straight shot by bus to royal mile, bus stop just out front door. Friendly staff, beautiful house, good hot breakfast. Would highly recommend.

this was a very friendly place to stay. The breakfasts were superb. the location was perfect for seeing the city with a bus stop right on the doorstep. would recomend

Convenient location with local bus system

I booked this guest house because I was on a budget, but I'd stay here even if I could afford more. My room was small but very comfortable, clean, and pretty. The staff was friendly the location was perfect--out of the main tourist area, but all historical sites were easily accessible by bus. (If you like to walk, skip the bus and walk downtown.) I was very happy here and pleasantly surprised because I was expecting a budget accommodation, but it turned out to be charming and first-rate.

Although the hotel would benefit from some refurbishment (windows are not double-glazed etc), it is indeed a beautiful place. People are very friendly. Good choice for breakfast. Classic music during breakfast hours.. For 5 pounds one can access an Internet computer in the hallway at any time during the day.

We enjoyed our stay. The Inn is clean and quiet. The city centre is easily accessed via several buses.

Hotel is very convienently located just across the street from a bus stop that takes you into the heard of Edinburgh in minutes. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was nicely done with a full modern bathroom. The complimentary breakfast was tasty and satisfying, just the thing to get you started on a day of sightseeing.

Meget tilfreds med servicen. Værelset var meget velindrette men koldt. Det var ikke muligt at få en behagelig temperatur. Vinduet meget utæt og værelset var under 18 grader varmt, selv om den ene radiator der var i rummet kørte på fuld drøn.

Non lo definirei un hotel, considerato che manca una sala per gli ospiti (tranne la stanza dove viene servita la colazione) e non esiste la reception. Sicuramente un buon servizio di B&B. Pulito, confortevole e collegato con il centro città da numerosi bus. Il personale è gentile e l'atmosfera familiare.
