Tryp Apolo - Barcelona

Un hotel muy centrico y muy bien comunicado, tiene la parada de metro en la puerta y con el puedes ir a Sants en 15 minutos al igual que a plaza cataluña y a las ramblas. El puerto lo tienes a 10 minutos andando, y en la parada de metro que hay en la puerta puedes cojer tambien el funicular a montjuic. La habitacion muy limpia muy comoda y muy bien.

I would say this is a good value hotel, but I personally would not consider it a four star hotel. we stayed in 6 different hotels in Europe this summer, four of which are four star hotels. This was the least impressive. The neighborhood is not real nice, and it is quite a way from the beach

The hotel was right next to the metro and just a five minute walk to La Rambla. The hotel staff were all extremely friendly.

The people were friendly and spoke english fluently. The hotel was very cozy and the rooms were extremely comfortable. Also, the hotel is very close to the metro which makes traveling around inexpensive and easy! This is a great place to stay to see the sights and enjoy all that Barcelona has to offer.

The hotel was clean. The room was clean. The beds and pillows were a little to be desired. The check in staff were all business. Not very warm and fuzzy. They knew the city well when we had questions. It is a great location. Recommend an inside room so you don't have to hear the street noise. There is no view but it is quiet.

We stayed at the Tryp Apolo for 3 nights before leaving on our cruise out of Barcelona. This hotel is in the PERFECT location to Las Ramblas, the Gothic Quarter, great restaurants AND the beach. The sites are a bit further (La Sagrada Familia, etc) but a quick hop on the Metro (right outside the hotel) and you're there for cheap. For what we paid for this hotel we got a bargain (keeping in mind we booked about 3-4 months in advance - the best part was it was already paid for when we arrived!). The only downfall was the hair dryer which was equal to someone fanning my hair, but I got used to it (you cannot plug in ANYTHING more than 20 volts - don't try - we tried to plug in walkie-talkies and it blew a fuse). This is a GREAT hotel, clean, wonderful staff that speak many languages and overall we had a great stay in Barcelona.

My boyfriend and I had been at FIB for 4days and the Tryp Apollo was a fantastic treat after camping. It was definately the light at the end of the tunnel and it did not dissapoint. The beds were very comfy, the rooms clean and everything needed was there. Tryp Apollo was really easy to find and the Parral-el undergroung stop is right outside the door. Staff at Tryp Apollo were friendly and helpful. Only negative is there wasn't enough choice for the breakfast buffet.

We stayed at the Tryp Apolo in Barcelona for the second part of our honey moon. When we first walked into the room, we were thrown off by the two twin beds pushed together but after having slept in the beds, it turned out not to be a big deal at all. It's the same as sleeping in a king sized bed. Further, the room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. Reception was helpful whenever they were available. People checking in and out of the hotel kept the reception area busy. Reception was always helpful and attentive whenever it was my turn in line but it took somewhat of a wait in line to get there.

When we booked we were a little worried about the area (it's on the edge of the red light district apparently) and the noise levels, but neither turned out to be an issue. It's right beside the metro station so you don't have to hang around on the street if you don't want to, and we had a room on the top floor so noise wasn't an issue at all. I'm not sure what impact having a room on a lower floor would have made. I'm not convinced that it quite lived up to its 4* billing, but it was at least a comfortable and clean 3* and you can't ask for much more than that in this central location and price bracket.

I was very impressed with this hotel. Obviously was not expecting the world with the price we paid, but was more than happy at the quality of the hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. It has an excellent location, Paral-lel metro station is literally on the doorstep. Or if u fancy a short walk, las ramblas is nearby. Also, the staff were very helpful whilst advising us on the best things to see and how to get there. Would definately recommend it to anyone who is planning a short break to Barcelona.

This hotel has a great lobby and great service, the breakfast was excellent and the location could not be beat, right off the Ramblas, on top of a metro station, exactly what we were looking for. The room was your standard 2.5 star, with okay quality beds and a tiny TV, but we didn't spend much time there anyways!

Clean, modern, with professional English speaking staff. A solid choice for the price range. Located about 7-8 min from the Rambla, the main tourist drag. The hotel has a nice restaurant and also is co-located with a casino and one of the major theaters for live performances in Barcelona. But the majority of the nightlife, restaurants, and tourist areas tend to be on the East side of the Rambla, so this area feels a bit more local, and can get a bit quieter in the evenings. Some restaurants and cafes located nearby, but are less touristy..

After a long flight we arrived to our small room and found that the room was not really ready. There were no towels, no pillows, and some broken light bulbs. It took 3 calls and several hours.

We stayed 4 nights in this pricey hotel. The day shift front desk staff were rude and unaccomodating and WIFI internet was 17 Euro/24 consecutive hours. The hotel is situated on a main street in Barcelona but is surrounded by peep show establishments. The Apolo theater (attached to the hotel) created people gathering outside and got roudy. The hotel advertised A/C in the room, but this did not cool the room down. The window opened slightly to get some air in, but our window overlooked the court yard which was a popular hangout at night for fellow guests and provided additional noise which made it hard to sleep at night. We would not recommend this hotel to anybody. Internet was expensive, neighborhood was not desired because of peep shows, mattress on bed was hard and room was small and stuffy because the A/C did not work.

This is a classic place to put your head and stay out all day, very much a holiday hotel where the action is elsewhere.

I stayed at Tryp Apolo 2 nights, i really enjoyed. Hotel is very nice and located in city center. Only short walk to Rambla and Port. Nothing bad to say.

This hotel is a 10 minute walk from Las Ramblas. The Hotel was a good value and was fairly modern. The casino on the side of the hotel had groups of people outside the entrance all night and were making quite a bit of noise.

My husand and I spent the Easter weekend in Barcelona and stayed at the Tryp Apolo. The room was clean and well appointed although beginning to look a little tired, with a couple of cracks in the ceiling and bathroom tiles. The cleaners were efficient and are used to a business clientelle, so were a little surprised to find us having a lie in one day. All the reception staff that I met were very friendly, helpful and spoke good English. The recommendation of a restaurant on Good Friday was worthy and making our reservation for us was much appreciated. As weekend tourists we found the Meto line invaluable and it's entrance was just 30 steps from the hotel entrance. We could feel or hear the metro on the fifth floor, but it did not impact on our impression of the hotel. Overall, it was a good hotel and I am pleased to recommend it to anyone.

This is a very nice hotel, located right next to the metro station and good restaurants. Definitively i recommend it a plus. All front desk clerks were very friendly and helped us to make the right decision. Room was very nice and clean.

the Tryp Hotel is in a great location and has beautiful views of Barcelona. It is very convienient to anything you want to do or anywhere you want to go. The area/neighborhood it is in is not the best, had i read the reviews before i booked i might pick a different hotel. It was nice to be able to walk to LesRambles but at night it might be a little scary to walk around. The Hotel was very clean and nice-could use some updating. We had a great time.

the hotel is in a great location, subway right in front, very nice rooms. The girl at the front desk was not the most friendly ever but she got the job done and she spoke engligh. Very good option!

On arrival we found the reception staff very pleasant and helpful. We were offered an upgrade but did not feel it neccessary. The room we were given was very clean and comfortable. The maid service was exceptionally good and if you need any extra towels or bedding it was not a problem. The breakfast was more than we expected. If visiting Barcelona again we wouldn't go over the Christmas break as many places were closed but a great time was had. Well worth a visit!

Very close to the port, ok location that has a great restaurant inside. Would stay here again.

Great location,right next to the tube station and only 10 mins to the Rambla and sea front.Although room a bit tired it was clean and comfortable.All staff we delt with were freindly and helpful.Good Tapas bar across the road,would recomend a stay at Tryp.

This was my first time traveling abroad, so maybe my expectations were too high for what was advertised on the website for a 4-star hotel... lobby is nice and staff is helpful. Breakfast is way overpriced for the food offered. Room felt dirty. Carpet severely stained and felt like it needed to be vacuumed. Both soap dispensers were completely empty upon check in, towels were threadbare, air conditioning barely worked. The photos that were advertised of the rooms were nice, but they were not what my room looked like. Improvement is definitely needed here.

The hotel is in a great location..ten minute walk from many things (port, ramblas, etc). The staff was so friendly and helpful and the rooms were comfortable with a lot of room!

Close to port with about a 5 min. taxi ride, hotel is within walking distance to Las Ramblas, clean room, staff speaks English, no problems and would definitely stay here again the next trip.

The hotel is located in an area that is easy walking from the port, ramblas, and gothic quarter. The hotel staff was nice and spoke English. The room was a bit dirty. The walls of the room were quite dirty. The bathroom was clean. The beds were 2 twin beds pushed together and were very hard. We had trouble in the morning getting a cab to the airport.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. the rooms were clean and the suites are so cute! the have the best amenities in the room including sewing kit and tired foot kit, I have stayed at a lot of hotels and never seen that before! next door they have a caberet show which is a lot of fun and rather inexpensive. Centrally located and quiet! good deal!

Hotel is worthy of 4 star. Very central location with parking available (approx 15 Euro night). Group of 8 guys staying and not one of us found any fault with service. Breakfast bit pricey, so opted to eat out in one of the many cafes nearby. Would stay again and recomend to anyone.

It was a very clean and very updated hotel. Rooms where spacious. Hotel very friendly and helpful. Would definetly recommend.

Hotellet er lettere slidt. badeværelserne trænger til en omgang, men er rene og pæne. Morgenmaden er ok (stort udvalg), ikke særlig hyggeligt, lidt cafeterie-agtigt. Hotellet ligger genialt i forhold til alt. 5 min. til Ramblaen og havnen. Taxerne er billige og der ligger en Metro lige ved hotellet. Kan varmt anbefale restaurant: La Catalana. Placa de les Olles 5.....Super god mad :-)
