The Modern Hotel - París

very basic hotel small staff friendly but if u ask few quastion they can't answer bit depresing

it was fine, could get more food for breakfast though!only get rolls and crossonts and coffee, would like ham and cheese and cornflakes etc.

Hotel is located very close to two metro stations which was great for getting around the city. I stayed in a single room which had a single bed and private bathroom. Room decent size and comfortable, bathroom was VERY small but sufficient. Breakfast was a good way to start day, it incl. coffee,tea,juice,croissants,baguetts,yogurt etc. Hotel is clean, nicely painted etc. The only issue I had with my stay was that the walls seemed paper thin. I could hear people coming in and out in the morning and late at night and could hear plumbing etc which did all wake me up on several occasions. Overall I was pretty happy with my stay at the hotel.

We took a cab to this hotel and even the cab driver didn't know where it was. It was hidden in a corner on a tiny street. The room we got was 507 on the top floor. the lift was so tiny one person and their bags could barely fit. The room was slanted, there were no electrical outlets, no A/C, shower door was broken, tv was tiny, could here anything the neighbors were doing though the thin walls, and the lights were nor properly mounted on the wall. Had a memory foam bed that was very stiff. The only thing that made this an ok location was the chicken restraunt next door. I would not advise staying at this hotel for more than one night and only if it were a last resort.

I have stayed in Paris for long weekends and one week on several occasions. I love the 18th arondissment as it is lively and permits for accessability to all parts of Paris. This was the first time I stayed at the Modern Hotel and I found it very central and had a most enjoyable stay. Staff were very friendly and the female receptionist in particular was very helpful. If I were returning to Paris, I will definitely book this hotel again.

The Staff where great. Freindly and Helpfull, The Hotel...... You get what you pay for, and I regret paying anything for this very small dump.

great hotel for the price- not many hotels in Paris offer breakfast included in price. staff could'nt do enough for you. On first morning we came down for breakfast late but were still able to get fed. Asked for lemon tea, which they did not have, however the next morning they had lemon tea (just for me) Staff very accommodating and courteous. Rooms very clean and bed comfortable and I could not speak highly enough of this hotel for the price. great base for sight-seeing Paris, metro a few yards from hotel and lots of restaurants, bars etc. nearby

The hotel was in a great location between 2 metro stops on a convinient line to get you all over Paris. You can easily get there by metro from the Charles de Gaulle Airport. The first thing you see when you get out at the closest metro is the Moulin Rougue! The streets surrounding it are full of all types of restaurants, bars, bistros, fast-food and discotechs and the place is pleasantly busy especially after 9pm so it was fine walking back to the hotel after a late night out. The staff was friendly enough and the hotel comfortable, nothing fancy, but clean, warm and free breakfast!

How can a hotel not have an iron? How can you deal with international people and dont speak english? How can someone have bread with butter every morning for breakfast? I could go on and on...

Excellent location, fair room. Poor security because you can ask for an old fashioned room key without any identification check even you are new to the recepionist.

If your looking for a clean comfortable place to lay your head while exploring the sights of paris, this is the place.Plenty of bars and restaurants within 5 mins and open well past 4am. such metro to paris city centre and all the sights.Pretty basic hotel but in a very expensive city you get what u pay for.We had great stay and loved paris

Some of the light bulbs in the room where out and its general conditions were not for someone who wants to be impressed. Our room was clean, comfortable and warm (we stayed in feb) and we had a lovely stay. breakfast was nice and you can ask for more if you are still hungry. Would definitely recommend :)

NOT GOOD!!!!!!!

We first walked into the hotel to a construction zone... it was loud, incredibly small. the bathroom was one square meter including a shower... no remote... personel came into the room while we were in it without knocking... By 6:00 am there was so much noise from personel it was impossible to rest... it was "cheap" but wasn't worth what we paid...

The hotel was in a convenient location because the Moulin Rouge was only a half block away, there were plenty of low prices restaurants nearby, and the metro train station was also very close. However, for some reason, the hotel seemed like it was about to fall apart. All the floors were slanted, including the stairs. The elevator (lift) truly scared me and I preferred to take the stairs at all times, but even they were slanted. Our bathroom didn't smell too nice, but it was pretty clean. The shower however was extremely small and uncomfortable! My friend's room, however, had a small bathtub. The walls are very thin and you can hear the other rooms rather clearly. On the other hand, it was the cheapest hotel we found that was still pretty central. I guess we got what we paid for.

The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and cheerful. The hotel lobby appeared to be under renovation but was bright and clean. The lift was a bit hit and miss-didn't go to 3rd floor and doors didn't always open at 2nd floor-so best use stairs if you're not keen on lifts! My room on 2nd floor was very basic but clean but I had the smallest bathroom I have ever come across and the single beds were very narrow.However others in my party were on floor above and had a large bathroom which appeared to have been recently renovated. Good location-equidistant from Blanche and Place de Clichy metro stations (2-3 mins walk). For the amount of money paid this was good value with pleasant staff and good location for getting around

We just lucked into to Modern Hotel, short on time we booked the first bargain we could find as we got off the all night train from Rome. We met some of the nicest and most helpful hotel people on our trip. The continental breakfast was plenty. The room was clean and light. I would go back to this hotel any time.

For a low cost budget hotel I can't fault it. The location is great for the centre of Paris and the staff were very helpfull.

Ett enkelt, lätt slitet hotell, där badrumsdörren inte var helt stängbar, men där läget i Montmartre är utmärkt. Att frukosten ingick i priset var ett stort plus - och den var helt OK. Acceptabelt sov-krypin.

Eviter la chambre 504 : on dort (on ne dort pas en fait) avec l'ascenseur. A noter que ce genre de détail n'est pas préciser lors de la réservation.

If you wish to stay at a hotel that's nice and clean and doesn't care to stay at a small room because you will be out seeing Paris all day, this is the place to go. The rooms are cleaned everyday and are very nice with a french balcony. Be aware of that there's NO air condition, so if you stay here at summertime (Like I did) the room will get pretty hot. For breakfast you'll get a baguette (with butter, jam or honey) and a crossaint. For drinks there's juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. So it's a nice way to start the day. The check out time is at 11 am, and if you have a flight later in the afternoon/evening you have the possibility to storage your luggage, wich is very nice.

In der ertsten Nacht habe ich ein Zweibettzimmer bekommen ohne Aufpresi, das fand ich schon nett. Ansonsten kann man für den Preis in Paris wohl nicht mehr erwarten. Immerhin waren beide Bäde komplett schimmelfrei, das ist doch schon mal was!

Hotellet er ikke stort , men det er helt ok for noen netter. Rent og trivelig. Personalet snakker litt engelsk. Beliggenheten er fin, kort spasertur opp til Montmartre.

Typiskt tvåstjärnigt hotell i Paris, inte vidare fint, ingen hög standard, men jättebra läge, trevlig personal och rent och fint. Golven lutar, hissen är ett äventyr men badrummet var jättefint med utsikt över Café de luna och Place de Clichy och Montmartre inpå husknuten. Charmigt!!

Nous avons eu un très bon accueil. La chambre est moyenne (odeur d'égouts dans la salle de bain, notre armoire ressemblait à la tour de pise.....) Petit déjeuner très bien.

Hotellet var bra trots sin låga standard. Personalen gjorde ett bra jobb. Rent och ett bra badrum.

Mit enkeltværelse ( 303 ) er MEGET mørkt-elektrisk lys nødvendigt hele tiden. Morgenmaden er meget "continental": Kun smør,marmelade og honning til. Der kunne godt have været (smøre)ost.

Det mest moderne med The Modern Hotel er kanskje at de har farge-TV og varmt vann, men det er et ypperlig hotell for budsjett-ferie med en god beliggenhet! Personalet var veldig trivelige og behjelpelige, det var passe rent og har en flott beliggenhet i forhold til Montmartre og metroen.

Das Hotel befindet sich in zentraler Lage, allerdings hatten wir nur 1 Handtuch auf dem Zimmer. Im Bad waren Kacheln kaputt, Schimmel an der Wand und an dem Spuelkasten.

pas si sale que ce qu'on pensait, quelques poils dans les draps et le ménage pourrait être mieux fais mais pour le prix et la situation de l'hôtel cela vaut le coup d'y passer la nuit malgré un accueil peu accueillant

great location, it's two star for sure - this is what i need when i'm not with my family, but with friends and using the room just to crash after a long day in the city. You want luxury...take a 3 star hotel. This hotel provides a bed, shower, toilet - just what you need. Okay the rooms are not fullt up to date, bit old carpet but take it or leave it. Breakfast : 1 croissant + part of french bread was a bit small for a big eater like me. But no problem-the city offers enough food. Helpfull personnel, proper english. Parking in the next door garage is the best, on sundays - starting from saturday night is free parking on the streets.

Modern Hotel er et lille og ganske udmærket hotel, beliggende centralt i Paris, med metro st. 100 meter derfra. Incl. morgenmaden er priserne bestemt fordelagtige. Personalet er flinke og behjælpelige.

Ligger utmärkt i Montmarte och nära bussar och tunnelbana. Nära till så gott som alla sevärdigheter i Paris. Personalen var trevlig och hjälpsam. Ett stort plus för den goda frukosten!

Rummets golv sluttade ordentligt och var minimalt. Badrummet helt okej, fräscht. Renovering i hallen orsakade slipdamm som föll när man gick förbi. Frukost bestående av enbart socker - croissanter, marmelad och fantastiskt kaffe.

E' un albergo molto vecchio, con le camere molto piccole e sopratutto il letto più che matrimoniale.. lo definirei proprio alla francese una piazza e mezza.. solo che per due è decisamente scomodo, per non parlare di quanto era corto! senza frigo bar e il riscaldamento bassino.. anche la colazione molto misera.. insomma per farla breve gli dò al massimo una stella e mezza!
