Hotel Duca D'Alba - Roma

60 yards from Metro station - 1 stop from main railway station where can catch both metros. 5 minutes walk to Forum and 10 to Colisseum. Nice breakfast. Staff are very pleasant. Rooms a bit too small. Lovely local square with bars/restaurant just around the corner. All staff had good English.

Very near the underground system and easy walking distance of the Colosseum. The room was small but comfortable and the hotel kindly gave us a bottle of sparkling wine in the room when I called ahead and told them we were arriving on my friend's birthday.

We spent 6 nights in September in this excellent small hotel. Staff were excellent. The room was a little small but that's nit-picking as everything else was excellent.

The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room (108) was a bit small but OK. The buffet breakfast was very good. Eggs bacon, bread, toast, jam tarts, fresh fruit, cerials, juice, tea coffee and more. The hotel is close to many of Rome's sites and is only 50 meters from Cavour Metro station. If we went back to Rome we would use this hotel again.

My stay at Duca D'Alba was fantastic. Great staff, polite and always tried to help me with anything, the breakfast was also very good and the bedrooms were clean and confortable. I would definetly stay there again.

hotel is clean and neat and very close to Roman Forum. Very close to subway station. Breakfast is great, with eggs, bacon, meat, yogurt, toast etc. I got a room for one adult, facing the street, sometimes it can be noisy, but I have ear plugs and the noise doesn't bother me at all. Great value for the money as I stayed in winter

Hotel is positioned in side street about 60 yards from Cavour Tube Station which is one stop from the Rome Termini. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We were within a very short walk of the Colosseum and the Ancient part of Rome in general. All other major sites were within walking distance (but some may wish to tube to the Vatican). Room was clean (and maintained every day) and comfortable. Large TV, Powerful shower (small cubicle). Breakfast was good - exactly what you would expect in an Italian hotel. Would probably stay here again.

Apparently, we booked an "Annexe Room" which is in an apartment building 15 feet from the hotel. They give you a key chain. You need to unlock 3 doors, use 20 steps, plus the elevator to get to your room. You're not in the hotel building. Nowhere in the hotel description or the room details is mentioned that you're booking a room away from the actual hotel.

We found the location superior. It was a short walk to the coliseum, and the night view was spectacular. It was only a short walk to the metro, and most of the popular sights were within walking distance. The decor of the rooms were unique and tasteful. We were in Rome for a wedding and our daughter and her husband also stayed at the hotel and their room decoration was quite different from ours. The breakfast was terrific: many offerings and more of a buffet than continental. The only negative was the morning desk clerk was a heavy smoker so cigarette smoke permeated the area, which included the eating room. Otherwise, the hotel was a great choice.

Small and cozy. Great staff, very friendly, helpful and efficient. Great breakfast and super location. Bed a little on hard side for us but room, though quite small, was adequate. I highly recommend the Duca d' Alba. We chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the subway (Metro). When traveling in Italy, I did not want to be dragging my bags all over Rome trying to find my hotel. This hotel is less than one American block from the Metro. This also made it easy to get back to during the day because we could hop on the Metro and be at our hotel in a matter of minutes without paying cab fare. As far as the hotel, this was our first trip to Europe and I'd heard that the rooms were small and the hotels were tucked away. This is true. However, the hotel had recently been updated and the rooms were in great shape. The concierge spoke great English and made us very comfortable. There are also several restaurants in the immediate area ranging from a quick grab-and-go sandwich to great sit-down restaurants. I highly recommend the Duca d' Alba.

Located near the Colosseum and other important locations of Imperial Rome, the hotel was clean, the staff helpful. Relatively quiet street. Had a few "old world" excentricities: labyrinthine hallways,lots of stairs (but there was a small elevator) air conditioning was barely adequate. Room a bit cramped, but all we were doing there was sleeping. Breakfast was okay: included fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, pastries, eggs, bacon. Mini-bar was helpful and the prices for soda were less than the street vendors. Probably could have been set at a cooler temperature though. All in all, nothing to rave about, but it was adequate for our needs.

the rooms were very small, the windows were very small with no view. the showers were so small you could barely move, and the water just dribbled out.

Overall impression, I don't think we got what we paid for. My husband and I were not put in the hotel but in their annex, which while it was next door, was much less comfortbale. The rooms were small and very spartan. The biggest issue was the EXTREMELY hard bed, very uncomfortable for a person with back pain! Bathrooms were new and clean, but also very small and a bigger person would not fit in their shower! It was hard for me to fit and I am small! The good news was that the room was interior facing and therefore very quiet. Other reviews said street noise was bad. Hotel staff was freindly and very helpful. Breakfast while it was the same every day was delightful and tasty and coffee was fantastic!

Receptionisten var meget hjælpsom og sød.

Even the elevator is small at this hotel! The bathroom did not allow two people unless one was in the bath tub. All this said, the service was great, the breakfast good, and the room clean and comfortable, we even had a small private patio! Can strongly reccomend this unless you want something flashy and grand. It is also only 70 meter to metro line B, station Cavore between Termini and Colosso.

Veldig sentralt i det historiske sentrum. Metrobanen noen få meter fra hotellet. City tour bussen har holdeplass i nærheten. Rolig og koselig gate med små barer og resturanter.

The service was very good, the people in the front desk very friendly and also the maids. The only BIG BIG PROBLEM WAS THE AIR CONDITIONED because during the night was not cooling at all, so the room was really hot and was very difficult to sleep ( Inside the room was hotter than outside). In the roman summer this is a enormous problem because you can't rest well.

Min dotter och jag hade först bokat ett annat hotell, men efter att ha läst i buideboken att området det hotellet låg i var lite "ruffigt" började jag leta efter alternativt hotell och fann då Hotel Duca D'Alba och beslutet att byta hotell ångrar vi inte! Det var nära till allt - bara ett stenkast från Colusseum. Hotellet var fräsht. Visserligen var rummet litet men rent och prydligt. Det enda negativa jag har att säga är att sängarna var alldeles för hårda för min rygg. Personalen var kunnig och pratade utmärkt engelska.

Hôtel à deux pas du centre de Rome et du Colosseo, proche du métro et des bus pour le centre ville, il est en plus calme. L'accueil est très bien. Seul bémol: la chambre en annexe est sombre et sans vue.

Afslappet, professionelt og venligt personale. Udmærket morgenmadsbuffet. Fint værelse - med lidt heftig pesudoklassicistisk dekoration, men det er jo ikke Rom for ingenting :-). Hyggeligt kvarter med spændende butikker (meget antik og design) og små restauranter. Alt i alt meget anbefalelsesværdigt til prisen.

Roligt sentralt hotell med god standard og service

Hotellet har en meget central beliggenhed. Personale i såvel reception som morgenmadsrestaurant meget venlige, hjælpsomme og servicemindede. Værelserne er små, men veludstyrede. På 4. etage er der en lille altan til værelserne. Ved senere rejser til Rom vil dette hotel meget vel kunne være vores valg igen.

Hotellet ligger ekstrem tæt på Colloseum og den store Piazza Venezia, men er alligevel gemt i nogle små og meget hyggelige gader, så man får ro, nå rman kommer hjem. Servicen er god, personallet i receptionen taler udmærket engelsk, og generelt gik det meget godt. Værelset havde et modernt badeværelse, men ellers savnede vi at have en udsigt. Der er noglde gode restauranter i nærheden, en metro station to skridt fra døren, og næsten alle de store seværdigheder kunne nås til fods - jeg ville bo her igen.

The hotel is very well located, some steps away from the metro which makes it easy to go anywhere. The rooms are small but very clean, modern decorated and give you the feeling of being home. The staff is very helpful and kind. Fresh breakfast, nice dining room. Value for money. We would stay at Duca again, that's for sure!

In jeder Hinsicht empfehlenswert. Wünsche werden sofort erfüllt. Das Zimmer im 4. Stock hatte eine Dachterrasse zum entspannen. Geh ich wieder hin, auch wenns nicht unbedingt günstig ist.

Hôtel bien situé, notre chambre dans une annexe sentait un peu le renfermé! en aérant cela va mais c'est limié à une annexe de l'hôtel, alors soit c'est oui soit c'est détestable! Petit déjeuner correct, literie confortable.

Hotel ist sehr zu empfehlen! Bisher eines der besten Frühstücke in Italien. Hotel befindet sich in hervorragendem Zustand, vor allem schöne Marmorbäder im Zimmer. Zur Lage: angenehm ruhige Lage in einer Nebenstraße im historischen Zentrum. Vom Bahnhof Termini sind wir mit den Trolleys ca. 15 Minuten gelaufen. 100 m bis zur Bushaltestelle, 300 m bis zur U-Bahn, 15 Minuten bis zum Kollosseum und zum Forum Romanum. Insgesamt ein traumhafter Aufenthalt.
