I thought I was getting a bargain for the room. It was more like a cupboard in a corner over looking a dank gloomy roof top. There no chair to sit on and hardly any space for a bag. The air conditioner did not work. There is no fridge, kettle etc in the room. Basically a bed and two side table. The staff were unfriendly. I was even recommended a "pirate" taxi service who charge me much more (than the concierge said it would cost) by the doorman for my trip to the airport. The hotel was on my list of conference hotels sadly.

Location is great! Facility is outdated (rooms very small, bathroom outdated), some street noise, some days maid service was great, others not so much. Overall, good for the reduced rate that I got on Hotels.com. Would not feel as good if I had paid more.

We loved our stay, but were disappointed to not have a frig or coffee maker in room. Know it was only minutes down to lobby to get coffee but do like that amenity. We loved being in city, park car and not use it til we left.

We stayed there because it was a great location. Right in the theater district w/in walking distance to the nearby clubs/restaurants. Cabs can be tough to comeby when clubs close so we didn't have to worry about that. It's pricey but convenient, clean and well run.

We just spent a very relaxing weekend at the Park Plaza and loved the hotel. It was an easy train ride from the airport, the stop was one block away. The hotel staff was very accomodating and knowledgable. The location was central to most everything and the park was a wonderful 3 minute walk away. Overall, one of our best.

Comentado por Cecilia, deLaguna Hills, el sep 7, 2009
The hotel is situated in a very upscale neighberhood and centrally located for sight seeing. The hotel has a very grandeur feel to it and the room we stayed in was very spacious. Our biggest complant would be the bathrooms, they were horrid! Our room comes with two separate bathrooms and both bathrooms were in dire need of a major overhaul. We didn't mind the out dated decor because the hotel is a historical site, but the grout in the showers and floors were black and yellow. Really disgusting!!We ended up putting a handtowel down on the floors in both showers before showering. Other than the bathrooms, the hotel is really a nice place to stay for the money!

Got what seemed to be a good price on a "Travelers Room". Expected the same quality as a Sonesta Travelers Room. Couldn't have been further from the truth. Smallest moldiest bathroom I've ever seen & room had no soundproofing whatsoever. Had to listen to passing elevators, two rooms down, all night.

Stayed at this hotel for just one night - came to Boston for a couple of days to see the show and to do some sightseeing and some shopping. The location of the hotel is fantastic - close to Boston Commons and Newbury Street. Great restaurants and coffee places around! However, the hotel is rather outdated: especially the bathrooms... I'm glad we had to stay only one night for this reason. I think that the management of the hotel knows that they will still have guests due to the great location, and so they've ignoring the fact that they hotel needs updating.

Comentado por V, deLondon, el sep 4, 2009
We stayed at the Boston Park Plaza for 3 nights during a US vacation and would certainly recommend this hotel to others and would love to stay there again. The hotel is very well located, and is a lovely, elegant building with sophisticated interior and very impressive chandellier reception. The hotel reminds me very much of old school glamour - very 1920's, I felt like I should have been in a cocktail dress the whole time! The corridors are wide and spacious, and the rooms are good - lovely kingsize beds and a decent sized bathroom and shower. The facilities are not as modern as in other hotels (no state of the art flat screen tv for example), but our room was finished to a high standard and very comfortable. We didn't eat in the hotel but there are many restaurants/cafes/bars in close proximity (some part of the hotel building which is enormous). In addition the Boston Public Gardens are just a few minutes away. Overall, excellent hotel - my favourite from the trip.

We arrived several hours before check-in time, so we took the only room that was then available. The room had no dresser, only one mirror (above the bathroom sink), and there were blown-out light bulbs in the bathroom. When I reported this to the front desk, the woman there was very apologetic and immediately offered to upgrade us to a nicer room. The hotel was fully-booked that weekend, but that didn't keep her from doing her best to improve our situation. Also, the light bulbs were replaced within minutes of my reporting them. Good service is something I take note of when I travel. I really appreciated the responsiveness of the Boston Park Plaza staff.

This hotel has one of the more impressive lobby's that I've seen. Large chandaliers with a pianist right next to concierge. Gift shop in the lobby with an excellent restaurant. Smaller eateries like Ben and Jerry's line the outer exterior of the hotel. Last but not least, a large sized HD tv adornes the deluxe bedrooms. Great hotel overall!!

Comentado por Jeffrey, deLos Angeles, el sep 1, 2009
I'm sure this was once a grand hotel. The pictures on their website look fantastic. We arrived early in the morning (before check-in) and were offered immediate check-in if we were willing to pay $30/night for an upgrade. We wanted to get into our room, so we did it. The bellman took us up to the room, and it had not been made up...room service trays all over the place, bed slept in, etc. Upon calling the front desk, they removed the "upgrade" charge. As it turns out, the "upgrade" was a 2nd bathroom and a second air-conditioner. Basically, they re-did some of the rooms and gave us a little extra space. The 2nd bathroom was nice. When the air conditioners (both) didn't work properly, we called maintenance (the next morning, after sleeping with the windows open). The maintenance man found that someone had shoved a towel into the airconditioner unit, rendering it useless. Once it was removed, it worked, but had a very bad mildew smell for the rest of our stay. As far as the 2nd air-conditioner unit, it was controlled by the thermostat in the room next door??? So, for our entire stay, we ended up sleeping with the windows open instead of using the air conditioner. The telephone in our room did not work properly, and every time I tried to call maintenance, I was transfered to security? No a great stay...would stay elsewhaere next time. 2 thumbs down...

sobre value="10"""Vintage" not worth the extra $$"
Comentado por Jennifer, deNew York, el ago 31, 2009
For the price you pay for this hotel, I don't think the quality of the facilities makes up for it. Yeah, it's "vintage" and it has quaint charm of being built in the 1920's. But at the same time, rooms are small and cramped, the air system is LOUD when it's on (it's hard to fall asleep with), and it just wasn't as clean as I'd like. The mirror on my bathroom door was covered in grime so thick I could hardly see my reflection, though the actual bathroom mirror was fine. Maybe some Windex would have done the trick? Also, when I went to check out the following morning, there was only ONE person working at the desk -- during peak checkout time. None of this is very terrible -- in fact the hotel is beautiful in a vintage way and it wasn't an unpleasant stay. I just think it's slightly overpriced for the quality and size you get.

When I arrived at the hotel, it was raining terribly. My mother and I pulled up to the front entrance, and three hotel employees, all with umbrellas, watched us struggle in the rain with our bags. One finally came over and took one bag, but none of the three came over with umbrellas to help keep us dry. For the rest of the stay, it was very pleasant.

Our air conditioning was awful. We stayed on an 80 degree day and the air conditioning was on a set temperature and couldn't be lowered. It was way too warm in our room. Also, there were no hair dryers in the rooms for the ladies. The parking rate of $40 for 24 hours was a bit high considering we were hotel guests. My car was returned with quite a few scratches on it so beware if you valet....check your car before you leave the hotel.

Overall the hotel was great! We got room service for breakfast, it came extremelly fast and was delicous with large portions. The only problem was that there was a fire alarm at 2:45am and we had to evacuate. It was very confusing because the fire alarms and intercom only sounded in the hallways, not inside the rooms. It barely woke us up and then it was confusing on if we had to leave or not.

The rooms here are not in the best of conditions, but that is forgivable as they are trying to maintain some of the historical features of the hotel. The bathrooms are small and maintained cheaply, some of the doors wouldn't open properly. However, what was truly unforgivable was the poor service - this hotel was not worth the effort.

There are top-rated restaurants, parks, the subway and shopping across the street from this hotel. Would love to stay there again soon!

The double queen room was clean, comfortable and very big. It was very convenient that it had two complete bathrooms. The only minor problems were that one of the hair dryers didn't work and one of the AC machines was working all night long even powering off the AC.
