Melia Alicante - Alicante

Hotel was in perfect location could walk everywhere, Buffet breakfast was the best i have ever had top class, No bath robes or turbo bath though. would definately stay here again. Ask for a Sea/ Beach view if available, Marina is nice but Sea view is better.

Hotel Melia is a good hotel great breakfast pity about staff at reception not very helpful just shrug shoulders when asked a simple question had to go to hotel next door for local information they were very helpful, Really should have information desk available for tourist especially when weather is bad and there's nothing to do,Checked out after 4 days and came home.

Great Hotel, great location. All staff friendly and efficient. Hotel clean and inviting. Had a room on the "level", well worth the extra cost. Especially enjoyed the little breakfast room . The waitress there particularly efficient. Very relaxed and not a bit "stuffy" as some good hotels can be!! All walks of life and all nationalities catered for very well. We began to wonder if there was any one else on our floor because it was so quiet!! The only noise we ever heard was from the several thunder storms and a rock group on the beach that played until 4.30 in the morning!! All in all, a great holiday in a great hotel.

Really recommend this hotel...me and my boyfriend went for a weekend break and it was excellent...hotel is literally on the beach and 5minute walk to really nice, traditional spanish restauants. a taxi from the airport to the hotel was 19euros but on the way home we got a bus right outside the hotel for 2euro's60 which took us straight to the airport in around 20min. If you are on your own or with a partner, make sure you ask for a double bed...as we got a twin room to begin with but the double rooms are newer and more contemporary!

We stayed for three nights and loved it, the hotel is in a great location for a short break. The staff are very helpul and the hotel clean and proffessional. The only down fall is that there is no clothes iron available and the laundry service is expensive. Public parking is the only parking available and it has a cost of €22 per night, can work out very costly when including the car rental costs.

Although situated near a quite busy thoroughfare which has to be negotiated to reach the old town area, the hotel has lovely views from either side - down the Postiguet beach to which it sits at right angles on an isthmus or over the marina/port area.where may also be found plenty of cafes and bars to sit at and drink in the views. We stayed on "the level"; the fifth floor of the hotel which has its own private reception and breakfast area and a free bar and snacks for "level" patrons. We felt the premium paid to stay on this floor was well worth it, affording as it does a private area in which to relax, enjoy free drinks and snacks, and a personalised service. Apart from the fourth floor, the hotel was refurbished in 2006/7, so the spec is modern and comfortable (even offering a choice of pillows !). Service was friendly, courteous and efficient, It is close to the old area of Alicante, and Postiguet beach is adjacent, which is cleaned daily and offers parasols and loungers at 3 euros apiece. the only complaint was that the swimming pool offered bingo and swim aerobics on a Saturday and Sunday which was a bit noisy and not to everyone's taste !

The Melia Alicante is a superb hotel. Situated directly on the beach and a few minutes walk from the main shops and restaurants. We love the fact the there are so many Spanish people and no Sunday Roast or English breakfast bars. We have stayed in a regular room which is of very high quality and also three times now have upgraded to a 'Level' Room. Level rooms are much larger with great bathrooms with spa baths and superb showers. The mini bar is complimentary and you can get snacks and soft drinks and alcohol up until 10pm which are also complimentary. What can I say about the staff - lovely friendly warm and all make you feel very welcome. This extends to the cleaning staff as well who all greet you whenever they see you. I can't recommend this hotel hightly enough. I have never been one to keep going back to the same place but know I would be disppointed if I stayed anywhere else. Transport links via train and tram to other areas are very good and fairly cheap.

My husband and I stayed her for 6 nights we booked a room on the 'Level' The room was spacious with a great en suite bathroom and we had a great view of the marina. The facilities on the level included drinks and snacks each day as well as a minibar in the room which was re stocked each day. We did not eat at the hotel apart from Breakfast which was excellent with a great array of fresh fruit, breads, meats, cheeses and cereals as well as hot food each day. The hotel pool is located on the mezzanine, it is small and unless you are there early - before 8.00am - it is difficult to get a sunbed so the close proximity to the beach is a must if you want to sunbathe. There was no entertainment in the hotel at night while we were there and the piano bar area was closed. The staff were courteous and helpful.

been twice wont go back, staff rude, dont seem to like the english speakers, this hotel is for buisness not leisure! rooms are antiquated and if this is four star i would hate to see a five star in spain. i must have got lucky the last time i stayed here. DONT GO< RUDE RUDE STAFF .

Loved this hotel. location was fabulous. We had a room on the 5th floor overlooking the Pool & the beach. Breakfast was a really nice buffet with all the usual available and more. The "tortillas con queso y jambon" ( ommelette with cheese & ham ) are prepared in front of you are are delicioso! If I was looking for something to whinge about sometimes there was a bit of a smell coming from the A/C. Nothing too serious but we figured out it was coming from the harbour when we got the same smell outside near the statue. Really nice hotel though.. would stay here again in a heartbeat.

having stayed at the hotel before I knew where everything was there is now a new tapas bar which is great.I e-mailed the hotel before my stay requesting a harbour view romm which had been allocated to me .I would recommend this hotel

Really liked this hotel for cleanliness, comfort & location. It is right on the marina & beach & right beside the tram which goes to nicer beaches. It is also in the city so you get the best of both worlds. One thing I did find is that they do not really cater for English speakers. Menu's were all in Spanish etc and there was no infomation in the rooms for tourists. I would however recommend the hotel on ALL other areas.

hotel overall was excellent, great facilities for a 4 star and restaurants. the rooms were nice but you couldn't get a double bed. excellent daily room service. They had a wellness centre but you had to pay 9 euros a day. reception staff not very friendly would be biggest improvement area

The location of this hotel could not be better - right in between the beach and the marina. We had a great sea view from our room. Reception staff all spoke good English. We had a small problem with the air con in our room dripping but they sent maintenance straight away and they fixed it pretty quickly. We did not really venture far into the town but there were lots of nearby restaurants and bars. Can't imagine why you would stay anywhere else in Alicante.

Myself and the wife stayed at the Melia for one night in the Level a private part located on the 5th floor where you get a very nice room with 2 large beds,free in room mini bar, fantastic bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and jet shower, a personnal dining area with a balcony and self service bar with spirits and beers and juices & wines in the fridge all free of charge. You could also eat breakfast in this area although there was a limited selection to the main breakfast room which you could go to if you so choose. The view at the level is either out over the marina or as we had a view over the sea which was nice, the location was good as literally 5 mins from the hotel was the main town area with restaurants etc. we also attended the Xasino but was dissapinted as the tables were mostly 5 & 10 euros a chip which limited our time in there. Would definately go back as great value and location.

large hotel in excellent location with marina/port on one side and beach the other, close to the town centre. Wide selection of food at breakfast. Good size bedroom with minibar but no tea making facility.

The Hotel has an excellent location,The sea views were lovely from the room.My only fault was the Hotel resturant we went to eat there on our first night. The head waiter was not friendly and half the menu was not available very disapointing for a four star hotel.We left the resturant and ate in town.With hard times you lost buisness. The rest of the staff were very helpfull...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Melia. The location was great - we could walk anywhere around town from here. Service at the hotel was excellant and we were given a lovely room with views out to sea. We went on a B & B deal and food was excellent.

cannot find a fault with my stay

this hotel is located very conveniently--about 5 min from the train station. we had a level room where we had a gorgeous view. the room is spacious and comfortable. the breakfast that was included was also nice. the only downside was that the jacuzzi wasnt working, but other than that two thumbs up!

The Hotel Melia was very welcoming and friendly. We had paid for BB with full breakfast and when we arrived we were sent to the top (fifth) floor to check in at a private reception area. On this floor we were entitled to 'Royal Service' and this included free mini bar for our stay, full breakfast in our own lounge area on our floor, free alcohol, soft drinks, tea and coffee, cakes during the day and hot nibbles from 4.30 - 10.30pm. The whole service was excellent and we would definitely return

Fint og stort hotell med svært god beliggenhet , og kjempegod frokost.

Vi skulle bo to par - omkring 30'erne - på Melia og valgte til dels ud fra pris, men også beliggenhed. Dette var vores første besøg i Alicante og derfor vigtig at beliggeheden var i orden. Hotellet var ganske udemærket. Man er hverken skuffet eller vanvittig positiv overrasket. Vi blev enige om at det efterlever den standard det ligger op til. Det er flot, rent og pænt, og kan anbefales. Alicante som by er bestemt værd at besøge. Her er gode muligheder for oplevelser af enhver art og ingen tvivl om at stranden ved siden af Melia er den som optager mest tid ;-) Dejlig strand.

A bit worn down and the cleaning definately lacked something, but a nice 4 star hotel for the price. Very kind staff.

Rent, fint och låg perfekt! Bra boende både för vuxen som barn. Fin strand och lagom långgrund. Restauranger runt om i olika kvalitet så utbudet är stort!

Flott hotell,god frokost,og super beliggenhet.

Vår første besøk i Allicante. Hotellet hadde ein perfekt beliggenhet for våre ønsker. Kort avstand til flyplass,nærme strand, og sentralt til butikker og restauranter. Hotell og personale var meget bra. Flotte rom,bassengområder, og god frokostbuffe.Her kommer vi gjerne igjen !!!!!

Ups: Not that expensive, nice pool, nice beach, beatiful views, big rooms, big bathroom, good breakfast, good TV-facilities, free internet Downs: Roomservice food, beds (they are to hard), internet a bit slow & the sofa

Hotellet har en plassering i forhold til alle aktiviteter som er bra for folk som er på ferie. Hotellet har bra service, god mat, og et ypperlig basseng område.

Hotellet ligger strategiskt placerat mellan hamnen och stranden. På 10 min. når man staden med dess utbud. Även hamnen har gott om restauranger. Stranden är helt Ok. Ta buss 21 eller 22 till Playa San Juan till en fantastisk strand.

Melia Alicante. Er et dejligt hotel skøn beliggenhed. Venligt personale. Gode værelser med alt det man behøver. Swimming pool, er meget lille i forhold til størelse på hotel og ligger i skygge det meste af dagen. Men til gengæld bor man nærmest på den dejlige strand og marina. Vi kommer gerne igen intet at sætte en finger på.

Dejligt hotel som ligger perfekt og helt fantastisk morgenmads buffet.

Ligger precis vid stranden samt nattliv & nöje. Trevlig personal, passa på att boka ett rum med havsutsikt då utsikten mot San Juan är underbar!!

Rigtig flot hotel, værdig sine fire stjerner. Placeringen er genial, og det ligger ud fra strandens sydlige start og er bygget ud fra land som betyder at alle værelserne har god udsigt til enten stranden eller lystbådhavnen. Man kan ikke bo bedre og have kortere vej til strand og spisesteder.

Dejlig yderst centralt beliggende hotelder ikke ligger langt fra lufthavnen. Tæt ved strand og den centrale bydel. Hotel service m.m. i top. Dejlig morgenbuffet, der absolut kan anbefales.

Skøn beliggenhed, dejlig strand. Ikke finere end at man kan færdes i badetøj/afslappet

Det var et meget bra opphold i Alicante, men Melia levde ikke opp til forventningene. Beliggenheten var perfekt, men de kunne ikke engelsk og det var dårlig med informasjon om hotellets muligheter. Det var dårlige med solemuligheter på hotellet da det var få solsenger og mange som holdt av med sine håndklær fra tidlig om morgenen.

l'hôtel était beau, grand et offrait de nombreuses prestations. La chambre était elle aussi confortable et propre. Le seul point négatif est l'absence de parking pour les client. Prévoir 18 euros par jour pour le parking public...

Great hotel, staff, location. It has it all!

Rigtig god service fra det øjeblik, vi kom ind på hotellet. Receptionisterne er venlige og taler udmærket engelsk. Skønt værelse, selvom det lå lige ud til trafik og mange mennesker, var der stort set stille, når vinduerne var lukkede. Dejligt poolområde, dog ikke så stort, som man kunne ønske sig til så stort et hotel. Så er det rart, at man bor lige ud til stranden, der i øvrigt også var rigtig fin og ren. Morgenmadsbuffeten var stor og med et godt udvalg - mange slags brød, pålæg, frugt og kage samt lune retter. Herudover var der mulighed for at spille bordtennis og dart samt at benytte motionsrum med løbebånd og crosstrainers. Alt i alt en supergod oplevelse, og jeg kunne sagtens finde på at vende tilbage.

Vi valgte dette hoteller på grunn av den sentrale beliggenhet til sentrum og badestrand. Samtidig er det et av de få hotell i Alicante som har svømmebasseng som vår datter kan benytte om ettermiddagen, mens vi andre slapper av ved bassengkanten. Vi har booket dette hotell ved flere anledninger og har alltid hatt et fint opphold, dessverre virket ikke airconditionanlegget på vårt rom , og natten ble derfor svært ubehagelig i 30 graders varme.
