Ideal Hotel Design - París

It was right off of a metro line, comfortable and the people were helpful. I'd stay there again.

the hotel is in an ideal spot. very close to the train and metro. you can get around pariswith no problem. even if you never ride the subway before.it's very simple there you dont even have to speak the language just get your map and you are good to goto all the attractions. the hotel staff at the front desk was very helpful.the room was a large room with a big bathroom but samll shower. very clean room.

Fashionable and funky reception area, and the room wasn't bad either - we wondered if there had been a French TV show called 'Hotel Makeover' to rejuvenate a bog-standard old-school Parisian hotel, and we were staying in the winner. The hotel reception staff were bilingual and very helpful. The main problem was noise from the very busy road below, both traffic and passers-by: we stayed on a Friday night and didn't get much sleep even though we'd closed the double-glazed windows. I'd recommend asking for a room that doesn't face the street. We'd got the room on a discount deal so were quite happy overall, but looking at what they charge for full price I'm sure you could get somewhere closer to the centre and quieter. It's right next to the Porte d'Orleans metro station, but we found it a long ride from the centre to the end of Line 4.

The rooms are small but then again, so are most in Europe. There is one elevator and it only fits two people and maybe one child. If you have a lot of luggage you may have problems. They offer breakfast but it is expensive considering the nearby cafes. If you arrive early you will likely have to wait for hours to get your room. I had to put our baggage in an unsecured common storage room. The wi-fi the advertise is only available in the lobby or if you dangle slightly out of your room window. It is comfortable enough for a couple of nights but you may consider other hotels for an extended stay.

The hotel is situated in a safe neighborhood and there is literally a metro stop right outside the front entrance. The front desk staff is polite and helpful, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. For those traveling in the summer, there is no air conditioning, but sleeping with the windows open keeps you nice and cool. My only complaint is that the drink prices are sky-high, so if you want a beer or coffee, find a local cafe. No one in his/her right mind should pay 7 euros for a Kronenberg! There are plenty of shops and cafes within a 3 minute walk, so this isn't much of a problem at all. Still, beware of the mark-up and avoid getting room service or breakfast at the hotel!

We loved this hotel because it was inexpensive, clean, comfortable and right on the Metro (you literally get off the Metro at D'Orleans and look up). Our room had a full shower (I expected a tub and handheld head based on one review) and we even had built-in and hanging space for our clothes. We were there in April, so if you go in summer it'll be hot with no A/C but we opened the windows at night and got a breeze. The surrounding area doesn't offer much, but an 8 minute ride on the Metro Line 4 (no changing trains) you're in Saint Michelle or Odeon, or even closer to Saint Germain. It is however more like 30 minutes and a change of train to Champs Elysee area. We would absolutely stay here again and I would recommend anyone - even my parents to stay here.

Confortable clean and well ubicated place with easy access to the center.

This was a nice hotel for the money, especially in Paris. It was right next to the metro, which made traveling around very easy, but it was a little further out than I would have liked. The rooms were very comfortable but the shower was small. It was also a little noisy since we were right next to a busy intersection, but that didn't matter too much since we were so tired at night we fell right asleep. They also had free internet and even a small computer for you to use, which was really nice. I would stay here again if I needed a similar hotel in Paris.

Our room was very nice, the largest on our floor including a balcony, which was particularily inpressive. Clean rooms, in an excellent location for the Metro service. Cheap and cheerful! Would recommend

I stayed for 1 night in this hotel and overall was satisfied, excpet that the lift was broken in the morning, so I had to carry my suitcase down 7 flights. The location is excellent as it is just at a metro and tramway station. I found the small of incense in the hotel somewhat overpowering. The breakfast was OK. The staff were excellent and access to WIFI was easy and free. I would stay there again - in spite of the lift!

The hotel is good for the price. Be careful if you are a non smoker as they only have a few rooms that are non smoking and even then you can smell the smoke from other rooms through the walls. We found the staff to be friendly and accomodating. overall it was a positive experience.

The staff was very hostile and do not help with some questions regarding Paris' tours. Also at night, the staff take a lot of time to open the doors, to allow you to enter to the hotel.

Very very clean bathrooms, clean room, friendly service, good price. One downside was that the neighborhood that the hotel is located in doesn't have very many restaurants or quick grocery stores. So go out for dinner and activities, and come back at night. Great hotel though.

The hotel was great. Clean rooms although the walls were a little thin-you could hear people coming up the stairs/walking by. Good value for the money. A bunch of restaurants/bakeries on the block to choose from. I absolutely loved that the metro was right outside the front door. Would stay here again.

The hotel is literally just outside the Port D'Orleans Metro station and approximatley 20 minutes from the Notre Damme. The hotel is clean and the rooms with bathrooms are quite big by Parisien standards. Much better than the 2 star hotels located nearer the sights, would definitely stay at the hotel again.

I flew into CDG and took the RER (train) to Gare du Nord. Before I left for Paris, I forgot to write down the hotel's address! Remember to write down the address because the "Information Booths" in Gare du Nord don't have internet access and can't look up the address for you. I left the station, found a nearby hotel and they helped me find the address and location of Ideal Design Hotel. The hotel is located right at the footsteps of the Porte d'Orleans Metro stop. So, from CDG airport take the RER (8.40 euro) into Gare du Nord and then the Metro #4 (pink line) south to Porte d'Orleans. Very easy to get to the hotel once you know where it's located. Also, the Metro (subway) starts running at 5am so if you have to go to the airport early, you don't have to shell out more cash for le taxi. I also suggest buying a tourist pass for the Metro. It keeps you from having to count out monopoly money everytime you want to take the Metro. Have fun! Paris is such an amazing city...

We were in Paris for only a few days and this hotel made the difference. The location is IDEAL, the staff is helpful and the room was a good deal for the money. The is a metro station literally outside the door and it can take you everywhere you want to go. Breakfast was good too. It is located in a very nice neighborhood. We loved our stay. It is also kids friendly.

The location of this hotel was great. The subway stop is just steps in front of the hotel. There is a pastry shop next door to the hotel where we had croissants every morning and other eateries that stayed open late night. The hotel lobby is adorable, very colorful and artsy. Our room was a triple and served its purpose. It was not anything fancy but it was bigger than I expected due to comments from previous reviews. The beds were comfortable, the internet was free, and the bathroom was clean and spacious. The elevator is very small but we did not use it since we were on the second floor. I would recommend this hotel and stay again.

Overall, the Hotel is nice, clean and convenient. I certainly would reccomend it for a stay in Paris whether it is for business or pleasure. Unfortunately, if you are travelling from the US, you most likely will arrive in the early hours of the day and the check in starts only at 2pm. And if the hotel is heavily booked, it would mean 2pm sharp and not one minute earlier! The metro is right in front of the hotel which makes it convenient to go anywhere in Paris. I would not bother with the breakfast option as there are at least 5 coffee shops in the same block where the Hotel is located and a coffee and a "pan au chocolat" (chocolat croissant) is at most 3 Euros. Right next to the Hotel there is a small Supermarket (as you leave the hotel, make a left and then the first street on the left, 50 feet on the right)open until 8pm for some snacks and/or toiletteries. A plus, the room has a refrigerator-mini bar.

The room was really dark, dingy and dirty. The shower stall was filthy and had mold on the shower curtain and was stuck together iwth mold growing in side of it. We were laying there watching a DVD and saw a mouse running across the floor and back into the bathroom. When they "rehabbed" the bathroom they didn't tile off behind the toilet and that's how the mouse got in. I would not stay here, the hotel looks nothing like the pictures and it's way away from any tourist spots. You'll have to take 2 trains at least 30 minutes to get to anywhere, the Eifel Towel, Louvre ect. DON'T STAY HERE!!!

The hotel is right off the subway (literally when you walk up the stairs it is on the right). It's really convenient when you just want to hop on and off the subway. But when I walked into the hotel, it gave me an uneasy feeling already. I think the management was trying to update the look and feel of the hotel, but it just came off as cheap and trashy. The walls are painted all sorts of different colors and the front desk was very unhelpful with checking in and where to go around the neighborhood. The elevator can only fit one person and one luggage at a time and moves very slowly (creepy to get stuck in it). While the room seemed clean, I did not feel clean at all. The tiles in the shower were mildewy and the toilet did not seem clean. The carpet had a lot of stains. We had a room facing the street and it was very noisy with all the passing traffic. I wouldn't stay here again for the amount I paid (about 80 euros). I think you could probably find somewhere else for that rate.

It's well placed for the Metro and the staff are friendly and helpful, but the rooms really are very bare and mine was also quite dark. No pictures, no soft furnishings, just a metal chair and a desk and a bed. OK if you like 70's minimalist, but it can feel a bit like a cell. It's all clean however, just not to my taste.

Our stay here was very enjoyable. The room was fine. We had a good view over the square below. The only slightly negative point was that there was still some traffic noise when the balcony windows were closed. The hotel staff were very friendly. The Porte d'Orleans metro stop is immediately outside the front door so getting to and from the hotel is very easy. Overall it was excellent value for money and I would stay there again when in Paris.

Good value for the money spent. The location is very convenient . . . at the terminating point of the #4 subway line. I was very easy to find my way "home" after exploring the city. The rooms, like many in European cities, are quite small. The shower was so small I had to step out of it to "suds-up" then squeeze back in to rinse :) Lots of good local places to eat within walking distance.

We booked this hotel for the price as well as the English speaking desk workers. Some of the workers spoke far better English than others and some hardly spoke English at all. The rooms were small but that is expected. The beds did have four large pillows which was nice. I would recommend paying the additional money for the breakfast, especially if you don't speak any French, that is one less meal you need to worry about ordering wrong. The hotel is directly by a Metro stop which made it easy to get places.

OK for short stay. Good location but looks like hotel has had an 'attempted' makeover. Had a great view. Bathroom was fine but terrible beds (looked like hospital beds). Not worth the money unless it's on offer.

This hotel was perfect for the price. The room was clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. Very easy to get around since the metro station is right outside the front door of the hotel. Our room was on the backside and we could sleep with the windows open, very quiet and nice breeze.

Literally 5 seconds from the metro, great access but very small lift and a lot of stairs. Definately one for the younger couples.

The hotel was perfectly fine. A good-size room and a nice bathroom (especially by European standards). The metro stop was only a few steps away (literally, probably 20 steps). The staff was very friendly, and the hotel was reasonably clean. The comforter had cigarette burns, but that was my only complaint really.

Nun wirklich empfehlen würden wir das Hotel nicht. Es fing schon damit an, dass das versprochene W-Lan nicht richtig oder überhaupt nicht vorhanden war. Der Aufzug ist auffallend sehr klein, und mehr als zwei Personen (ohne) Koffer passen nicht rein. Sagen wir mal so, das Hotel war rein zweckdienlich, wenn man einen Platz zum Schlafen braucht. Außerdem war die Anbindung gut, weil direkt vorm Eingang eine Metro-Linie und Bus-Bahnhof ist, womit man alle Orte in Paris innerhalb 30 min gut erreichen kann. Ach so ja, Vorsicht man wird nachts gebissen, ob es sich dabei um Bettwanzen oder Mücken handelt, wissen wir nicht. Jedenfalls Mücken auf der 7. Etage und kein Gewässer in der Nähe ist mir schon irgendwie skeptisch.

L'hotel est parfaitement placé prés du Métro et de la porte d'Orléans. Il a été rénové mais garde un aspect vieillot. Nous avons eu une très grande chambre (pour Paris). Attention, il faut réserver le parking qui est limité en places.

Gut geeignetes Hotel für einen Wochenendausflug. Gute Erreichbarkeit mit dem Auto. Optimale Metroverbindung.

Bra läge vid metro, tramway och buss. Starka färger i inredningen - fint! Trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Gratis internet och dator att låna i receptionen - jättebra. Men rummet var litet och inte riktigt fräscht, med utsikt mot ett litet luftningsschakt om ca 2*2 m, i övrigt bara tegelväggar. Frukosten var i stort ok, utbudet ganska stort men fylldes inte på i takt med att det tog slut. Och fruktcocktail från konserv är inte "fresh cut fruit salad"! Bo gärna här med ett bra rabatterbjudande och utan alltför höga förväntningar. Annars, leta upp något annat alternativ.

Schoon, goed bed, rustige kamer aan de achterkant van het hotel. Metro voor de deur; station Porte d'Orleans, 20 minuten van alle grote bezienswaardigheden. Afgebladderde verf maar dat heeft ons niet gestoord.

E' ben arredato, pulito, vicino alla metropolitana, situato in una zona tranquilla e ben servita

För att vara Frankrike var standarden på hotellet i förhållande till priset mycket bra. Det var rent och fräscht, trevlig personal, trådlöst internet, få ljud från andra gäster, flat-screen tv etc. Ligger väldigt bra till med en metrouppgång precis utanför entrén och där stannar även spårvagnen. Buss runt hörnan. Tar ca 20-30 min att promenera in till city kärnan. Kommer defintivt att boka boende där igen! Tips är att inte köpa frukost på hotellet utan gå ut och sätta sig vid en liten bistro.

Ideal Hotel Design is een hotel wat gelegen is in het 14de arrondissement in parijs. Voor de deur stap je zo de metro in . Dit is ideaal want het is een eenlijn die je echt overal naar toe brengt in Parijs. Het is een zeer eenvoudig hotel en er is niets design aan. De kamer en badkamer zijn netjes maar eenvoudig. De bedden zijn wel erg goed. Kortom als je lekker Parijs wil verkennen en daarna een goede nachtrust wil zit je hier echt goed.

un hôtel avec un bon acceuil, des services SPA disponibles en chambre (non testé), un design qui change des chaînes. Juste limite sur l'insonorisation.
