very comfortable and welcoming hotel in a very good position to be able to explore Florence. the roof top pool was magnificent [ if a little cold] and the breakfast buffet was full of variety with fresh fruit and plenty of different breads and pastries as well as a cooked choice. can't imagine that there is a better hotel in Florence.

Perfect location in the square where everyone seems to want to hang out to lie around and chill. Also a few hundred metres from the station and not much further from many of the sights. Rooftop swimming pool was an added bonus with great views of the mountains and most of the city's sights. Also great service for us as we were upgraded to a family suite instead of the two rooms we had booked.

Good location, great roof terrace for August heat, appeared to be a standard four star hotel but just kept suprising us with fantastic special service on our honeymoon, even though we stayed for just two days. Would recommend it to anyone.

The hotel can make or break a stay and this one makes it! Helpful staff, lovely setting, close to station but not seedy. A real 4 star with the bonus of a roof top bar with amazing views.

This friendly and impressive hotel is perfectly located for anything you might want to do in Florence. We stayed here for seven nights in July, 2009, and had the time of our lives. Everything is in walking distance, the staff were helpful and approachable, the roof-top pool was blissful (both for its swimming and for its jaw-dropping views of the city), the rooms were spacious and well-equipped, and though the huge breakfast buffet was delicious each morning, an excellent gelateria just outside served amazing ice creams and coffees very cheaply, and the surrounding area had plenty of other restaurants to keep the palate entertained. The city is beautiful and we would recommend this hotel to anyone!

We stayed at this hotel for one night and had a good stay, although we ate elsewhere and didn't use many of the facilities so this review is somewhat limited. Comfortable, welcoming and clean we were very happy with our room and with the staff. Remember to ask reception tosend your registration number to the authorities if you drive here because otherwise you will be fined for driving in the limited access zone. They operate valet parking only which cost €28 for one night - far too expensive considering the cost of the room itself.

1. The staff was really friendly and efficient. Everything we needed was taken care of quickly without any drama. 2. Location is about 200 yards from train station. It is easy if you have luggage. 3. Internet access sucked big time. The hotel had 2 old computers with outdated browsers. If you use "mobile me" stay away from this one. 4. Shower was horrible.

GReat hotel

The view from the rooftop is wonderful. It is necessary to teach at the check-in because the view is wonderful also in winter . I suffered a loss when I did not notice!

Would recommend, good hotel with lovely friendly staff. Located about 5 minutes walk away from the Duomo. Room was clean and in excellent condition, if I had one complaint it would be that the bathroom was a little bit on the small side.

The only positives about this hotel are the location and the roof top pool. Our first room was so bad we could not believe it. The bed was so hard we did not get any sleep. We did move to a new room the next day but it was not much better. In both rooms there was barely hot water to take a shower. We visited three other cities in Italy and this was the only hotel that did NOT meet our expectations. This is NOT a four star hotel.

Outstanding in so many respects! Large room, air conditioning that actually worked, best breakfast choice we have ever experienced for a hotel in this price range, v polite, friendly and helpful staff who spoke good English. The roof top swimming pool was a fantastic bonus, with great views of the Florence skyline and an opportunity to cool down after a hot florentine day!

Having travelled by train to several places before Florence we were feeling in the need of a rest. The hotel Minerva is in a fantastic location despite the the piazza infront of the hotel being remodelled during our stay. It is so close to the train station and no more than 5 minutes walk from the sites and great restaurants. The hotel caters to your every need which works both ways; great for getting museum tickets booked in advance and not so great if you don't want there to be more wait staff than residents at breakfast so that every time you put something down it is being collected. It felt a little claustrophobic. It was mixed bag and had we wanted a little pampering in Florence then this would be the perfect hotel.

Modern, clean and great location. The Piazza Santa Maria Novella is being rennovated at the moment but there was minimal disruption and certainly no after hours noise. It may spoil the view from the room but this was not my primary interest. Staff were friendly and efficient. Will definitely stay again

The hotel itself is making an effort to provide good service and comfort. Highlights include an excellent (included) full breakfast each morning and very pleasant service. Location is about 5-10 min walk from the Duomo and Arno River but S.M. Novella square is totally dug up and under construction, including the facade of the church. The hotel also is under construction. On the bad side, the Square is a congregating place for many dozens of vagrants, as there is a welfare station there. My spouse and I were slighlty uncomfortable at night and also found the view from our room unappealing.

Perfect location, beautiful views from the lovely pool, nice breakfast, service minded staff......I'll be recommending this hotel for all my friends going to Florence!

Hôtel plein centre, on eu la chance d'avoir une suite pour un tout petit supplément, et là c'était le rêve ! La piscine sur le toit c'est la cerise sur le gâteau. Seul petit souci : un peu bruyante, la place le soir...

Hotel très bien placé, entre la gare et le centre historique. Tout se fait à pied (c'est d'ailleurs préférable). Chambre confortable, même si la mienne donnait sur un mur aveugle. Service impeccable et très professionnel. Le plus: la piscine sur le toit avec vue sur le Duomo.

l'emplacement de l'hotel est parfait pour visiter la ville car il est possible de tout visiter à pied à partir de l'hotel. Il se situe sur une grande place calme au pied d'une des principales églises de la ville, sur laquelle la majorité des chambres donnent. On peut donc meme visiter à partir de sa chambre ! La réception parle Français parfaitement et sait conseiller sur des visites, itinéraires, et peut également faire tout type de réservation. les chambres sont spacieuses et la literie excellente. Mini bar, télé écran plat et salle de bain en marbre, clim réglable à sa convenance, très bonne insonorisation et décoration avec gout. Seuls les murs de notre chambres avaient des rayures de valises mais ils semblaient tout de meme avoir été refaits récemment. Le petit déjeuner est servi dès 7h du matin ce qui est pratique quand on veut arriver tot aux visites qui commencent pour certaines à 8H15 mais on peut aussi déjeuner jusqu'à 10H30 pour les vrais vacanciers ! Mais le plus extra ordinaire pour la fin : la piscine sur le toit et les différentes terrasses sur plusieurs niveaux où il fait bon de grignoter ou boire un verre. La piscine et les terrasses permettent une vue imprenable sur l'ensemble de la ville, et de nuit, c'est magique. La piscine est accessible jusqu'à minuit ! et les transats aussi ! La piscine est profonde de 1m40 sur toute la surface et de taille tout à fait résonnable

Localisation de l'Hôtel idéal, proche des transports en commun et du centre ville. Accueil, confort, propreté tout est au rendez-vous, sans compter öa pliscine sur le toit qui permet après un journée de visite de se détendre avec une vue sur la ville incomparable.

Bien placé à côté de santa maria de la novella (il faut tout de même aimé le son des cloches tôt le matin!)

Très bel hôtel, très bien situé. Je ne manquerai pas d'y retourné lors de mon prochain séjour à Florence. En plus, la piscine sur le toit offre un moment magique. Je le conseille vivement.

Ein sehr schönes Hotel mitten in Florenz. im Pool auf der Dachterasse konnte man abends schön entspannen.

Hotellet ligger bredvid en kyrka på en stillsam men stor piazza och har en takbalkong där man kan vila fötterna med fantastisk utsikt. Det är bara några steg från centralstationen där flygbussen stannar och det är bara dubbla sträckan till domen och floden. Ändå är det helt tyst på rummet om man bortser från duvorna utanför och grannarna i rummen bredvid.

Le +:terrasse, bar et piscine sur le toit avec une vue magnifique sur florence, ainsi qu'à moins de 5 mn de la gare et 20mn de l'aéroport. Le -: insonorisation intérieure pas top (réveillés le matin par les femmes de ménage et voisins dans leur salle de bain)

ottima posizione a 5 minuti dal duomo .. prenotata una camera superiore , pulita abbastanza grande , ma con alcune cose migliorabili .. muri macchiati , e bagno piccolo e abbastanza vecchio con vasca rovinata ... grossa peca la colazione a pagamento 20 euro cad .. parcheggio comodo ma 28 euro per una giornata non sono pochi ... lo consiglio ma vorse c'è di meglio
