You will not find a better hotel in Munich for this price! This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff were very polite and helpful. The hotel looks even better in real life than in the pictures. It has a traditional feel but looks very new and so clean. We had a family room which was more like an appartment. Had a seperate master bedroom, bathroom and lounge with a proper made up bed for our son. Mini bar was good and not too expensive. You even get a mini kitchen with hob to cook on! It's a good location, about 10mins walk from Eching S-Bahn station. 15mins on the train from the airport and about 20mins from Eching to Munich city centre. There is a bio supermarket opposite but just by the train station is a Penny Markt if you want to buy some low cost food. The Chinese resturant opposite the hotel is brilliant but the food in the hotel's resturant is lovely and breakfast was great with a help yourself option. Overall, I highly commend this hotel and have no doubt over staying here, you will not regret it. Will be staying here again when we return to Munich.

It was a nice hotel, the S Bahn is not that far away couple of minutes walking behind the REWE market, its on one part a little solitary so try to avoid to walk after dark or walk in group. It was a shortage of power and we couldnt take our car out from the garage and we need to travel on the S Bahn. Other thing was the shower so small for one person. Also at least our room had no air conditioning and opening the window didnt help much.

Comentado por Linda, deSanta Monica, el jul 31, 2009
The location is the biggest issue with this hotel. It is reachable on the S-Bahn--only 2 stops from the airport but not close to the train station. We arrived at night and walked around in the dark for over an hour trying to find the place, so google it first. It is a 30 Euro cab ride to the airport. Do not book this hotel if you want convenience to the airport. Ohterwise, the breakfast was magnificent and the facilities quite lovely.

We stayed here so we could catch an early flight from the airport. The hotel is about a 15 minut drive from the Munich airport, if traffic is light. Very nice rooms and a good resturant. This hotel has the most confusing room layout I have ever seen. Pay attention to where you are going, or you may never find your way back again. Parking is in a basement garage, so tall vehicals may have to park on the street. Your room key is needed to operate the garage door, so be sure and take it with you when you go to park.

Comentado por un huésped de Hotels.com el jul 9, 2009.
I had one of the worst experiences of my life here and I've been traveling for over 35 years. It bills itself as an "airport" hotel (near the Munich airport), but IT IS NOT. It is in a remote location, not easily accessible and extremely inconvenient. There are no taxis in this village whatsoever. I had to pay extra to get a taxi from another town to pick me up and take me to the airport. They say they are close to the train station, but it's a 45 minute walk (with luggage) and no signage to direct you. In addition, when you ask for help, the personnel are distant and uncaring. I wrote the manager to express my frustration and received the same aloof, uncaring response. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel tied for the best hotel that I used in Europe. My wife and I stayed there for one night because we wanted to be close to the airport since we were flying out the next morning. If you want to be close to the down town area this might not be the place to stay unless you have a car. It is quite a distance. It is located in a residential area with an organic grocery store next door. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was in great condition. Our room was large, the beds were comfortable and it was the only hotel in Europe that I stayed in that had a bathtub. There is a restaurant on the ground floor with decent prices. I did not eat there so I cannot evaulate the food. Overall we were very satisfied and would stay again.

We've used this hotel before as it has good road access and reasonable S-bahn access too. We had problems getting wi-fi access (our problem), but the staff helped us until we were connected. Breakfasts are excellent, and rooms are well maintained. It will always be our base for Munich.

I was happy with everything about this hotel except the location. I booked online thinking I was close to Munich. In reality, the hotel is about a ten minute walk to the train, then the train is about a 20 minute ride to get to the city. This is really my own fault for not checking the address a little closer. As far as the hotel itself, it was very nice at a VERY good price. I stayed in 4 different hotels on this trip, and this one was the lowest price and the nicest place by a longshot. The staff was very friendly and very accomodating (especially considering my inability to speak German). The hotel bar and restaurant were both very nice. We had dinner here our first night, and I was very surprised at both the quality of the service/food as well as the very reasonable prices. In conclusion...IF you're sure this location works for you, DO STAY HERE.

We stayed at the Golden Tulip Hotel Olymp for six nights. It was clean, nicely decorated and had a two-burner cooktop, regrigerator and sink in the living room area. The room also came with dishes, flatwear, and glasses for two; a saucepan and a hot water kettle. The hotel is within a ten-minute walk to Munich's S-train, which serves the entire Munich area and links to the German Rail System. There are also two nice markets within walking distance- one on the route to/from the rail stop, and one just across the street in the back of the hotel. The restaurant is outstanding and we had our best meal of the trip there. The retaurant also provides menus printed in English. The staff is great and speaks English very well. The neighborhood feels safe and is a quiet haven after a full day of sightseeing. We had two adjacent rooms in the second building. There wasn't any smell of cigarette smoke and the hallways, stairwells, and elevator were very clean. I can't say enough about this hotel. It was very welcome find for us. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Bavaria and will look for the Golden Tulip name for future trips.

The room key was large and old. The room lock require the key to both open and lock the door which I would think is a safety hazard considering that is how you lock the door inside the room too. The room was supposed to have a queen sized bed. The first room was two drop-down single sized wall beds that were a foot apart. The room also smelled of a heavy smoker. So I pointed this out to the front desk and they gave us a different room. The new room was two single beds pushed together but atleast were together. There was no in-room coffee or tea. Called the front desk to see about getting two cups of coffee which they brought to the room. The coffee was 9 Euro.

The distance from the train station to the hotel was much longer than what we were told and we had to ask for directions several times. We booked our reservation approx 6mos in advance and did not get a room in the hotel but rather away from the main building. The heater did not work well so they brought in a portable one and the back sliding door was broken. The room was clean but the location on the ground floor near the stairs made it noisy and a little unnerving with the broken door.

The town of Eching is incredibly charming - far enough away from Munich to be silent at night but close enough to use it as your main place to sleep. The hotel is in an awkward location behind some street-side businesses (bakery, coffee shop, etc) but once you get there it's easy to remember. Some concierges speak English, some don't so bring your Berlitz book. You get a pretty big room by Euro standards and it was spotless. Comfy beds with the typical feather covers, a small sofa, TV, shower, toilet, closets are all there. Be sure to hit up the only real bar there down the street, it's very classy.

Good choice for something reasonably priced that was close to the airport. Note: if taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel, make sure you print out a map & directions from the website to give to the taxi driver. The room was a small apartment with all the amenities American's a familiar with. The staff was so friendly and helpful. When we requested ice-water, they brought us a full pitcher. We had dinner in the restaurant on the outside terrace - it was the perfect ending to a "once-in-a-lifetime" vacation.

Not as good as expected after reading reviews. The room was bit disappointing, they put me in single room under the roof with very small window. Very basic room, old TV with 20 basic channels, no movies offered. Worst of all was rotary telephone system, I could not use my phone card to dial out because there is no tone when you push the number. Still 19th century. Good breakfast, nice restaurant and lobby, free parking area. Good pizza place near by, the town is not very interesting but short walk to the center. Good hotel for one night before you fly off.

Albergo pulitissimo e servizio ottimo.
