Hotel was a big treat for us and we thought it would be a great location for Hollywood, this is true as everything on the Hollywood Boulevard that you want to see is right outside. However we could not go to the pool on our first night due to a private party and the bouncer on the door was quite rude and arrogant and then when we wanted to go to the club we were ignored as we approached the door to be then told after standing there for a moment that it was guest list only!! Ignorant looks and cockyness is not what I expect when staying at a hotel with people falling out of the club and shouting in the lobby area where we were having a drink! After really looking forward to staying here, I was very disapointed as the facilities it states you cannot use! The room was clean and we had a good view so cant complain there, but I would not rave on about this hotel to my guests other than moan!!!

Comentado por Jenny, deDetroit, el ago 27, 2009
I stayed here with girlfriends and was very satisfied. The room was clean and comfortable. But the paint on the furniture is chipping and it's not all that special, so it's maybe a step below what you might expect. But the beds were great and the common areas are beautiful. I loved the burger restaurant, Teddy's and The Tropicana Bar. I would recommend going to the Tropicana for a fun nighttime bar experience around the pool. However, both bars could use more bartenders. Service was extremely slow. The daytime pool experience was a bit of a disappointment. We tried to go to the pool on Sunday and it was packed. At 12 noon, there were 30 names on the list ahead of us for a lounge chair. I would recommend getting there very early if you want to sit by the pool. However, it's very loud with music blasting and filled with alot of non-guests who come for the party atmosphere. If you like that Vegas vibe, you will be happy. My friends and I were looking to relax with a cocktail around the pool. That will not happen on a weekend. But overall, it's a fabulous historic hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. There are absolutely NO issues getting in to the Tropicana/Pool if you are a guest.

The problem with this hotel is that they are running a club at the pool which caters to tons of LA wannabees The focus is not the hotel but this club. And, they charge for EVERYTHING! I am surprised they did not charge for the air!

We stayed in this hotel for 1 week. Everything about it was great. When we arrived we were given an upgrade to a delux room, which was great. The 24hr restaurant was really nice. Room service is prompt, the food is good but pricey. All the staff are friendly & helpful. The bedroom itself was clean, comfortable & airy. The bed was comfy and sheets were changed each day. The en-suite was slightly old-fashioned & narrow but everything worked perfectly with towels and toiletries replenished daily. This Hotel is the only thing we found in LA which oozed character & charm. You know you're in Hollywood just coming out of your room, we walked straight into a photo shoot on the landing! We loved the buzz of the place but be warned that weekends are busy. The loud music at the pool bar wouldn't have been our cup of tea but to be fair it didn't go on late so wasn't a problem. Most nights they have something happening & we loved the black & white movie night by the pool. This hotel is a great location for seeing Hollywood. There's loads of stuff right on your doorstep including premieres. Your in-room CCTV channel gives a birds-eye view of all the excitment if you don't want to stand at the side of the road to watch. Other then that you're only yards from some good shops & food joints. The metro station is 200m away & the hotel has a constant supply of cabs waiting at the door. Overall we loved this hotel but found LA to be a bit fake.

This old style hollywood hotel has fantastic lobby, pool and restaurant areas but the actual hotel rooms leave a lot to be deisred they are in bad need of a revamp. The location is great, right in the centre of Hollywood with the Chinese Theatre and the Kodak Theatre across the street. But there is a bad odour in the corridors of the accomodation floors. Im not sure if I would go back as the rooms really let the hotel down only for that it would be great!

The front desk service was slow, the rooms were not ready at the specified time. One has to be with the "LA In crowd" to get a sunbed by the pool even when there are many "reserved beds" available the pool boy will put you on "The list" this moron needs to understand who pays his salary and what customer service actually means.. Seems like actual paying hotel guests do not get the service they pay for when booking a room..

Hotel was very nice but they nickel and dime you. you pay 400 a night but you dont get free internet?? You have to pay $30 a night to park your car in there lot it should be free considering the amount you are paying to stay there. There pool is great and there is plenty going on in the hotel for ou to not even want to leave.

We were looking so forward to staying at this historical site unfortunately it fell short of our expectations. The room was extremely small and we were subjected to a humming sound all night long that prevented us from getting a good nights rest. The restroom was so small that it made us feel claustrophobic and the lighting was bad. The accomodations were not worth the price we paid.

I took my sons there and chose it because of the location. Whenever we came back in the evening, it was like walking through a club. Then, we tried to swim on Sunday and the pool was filled with 23 year olds and we had to get stamped to go in. We turned right around because there just wasn't any room at all.

The hotel had a nostalgic feel. It was updated to be modern. It was in a good location and had all the amenities we needed. The room was smaller than expected. The shower was neat but there was only a half glass wall and no curtain so the water splahed out all over the floor of the bathroom. We would stay again but would recommend paying for an upgraded room.

This was a lovely hotel appearance wise. However, they nickel and dime you to death! It starts out with additional $30.00 to park your car on their lot, then you have the never ending tips to give for bringing your car when you wish to use it. Everything had a cost. If you wanted a cup of coffee using the in room brewer, it cost $3.50. Drinks in the bar are crazy. I bought 4 and spent $70.00! We were excited to use the pool, but couldn't even get close. Evidently they let the customers throw parties in the pool area. It was packed with people so there was no way to even get close to the pool. It looked like the cast of Beverly Hills 90210 had invaded. We will not go back; not worth it.

Overall the hotel room was what I expected. Nice styling, but no extra frills. Comfortable bed too. The CD player in the room did not work, but I did not call to have it replaced. When I called the front desk to set up a wake-up call, the phone rang at least 15 times and no answer. I called back a few minutes later and got someone. Small room, but you pay for the look here.

I'd definitely stay at the Roosevelt Hotel again on a future trip to Los Angeles.

The Roosevelt is a nice, historic hotel conveniently located half a block from Graumann's Chinese Theater. The staff is pretty welcoming and the interior is grand. Because it's an older hotel the interior is dark wood and the hallways are dimly lit. My room was rather small and not attractively furnished. There were no extra pillows or blankets in the closet. But the bed was comfortable. Be prepared for pricey food and drinks in the hotel.

Overall, my stay at the hotel was horrible. The hotel and rooms are very dark and depressing. The rooms are small, but the restrooms are even smaller. The carpet is very stained and the elevator creaks like an elevator in a haunted hotel. I was changed to three different rooms. The last room that I was moved to, the restroom sink had yellow water coming out of the faucet. I had to give my little girl a bath with Aquafina bottled water because the water was so nasty. I will never stay here or recommend this hotel to anyone.

This place is a classic old-school Hollywood hotel. Great location for touristy stuff. However, the area is quite noisy. No issues with safety at night. You can walk all over the place, including over to Sunset with no issues. The lobby and restaurants are very cool. Good food at 25 Degrees restaurant. The pool are becomes a bar at night, but you can get in as a hotel guest. The pool area is great...probably packed on the weekends, but not too bad during the week. I have always wanted to stay here and would do it again just for the pool area.

Housekeeping and Valet was GREAT!! Even the pool area was very nice day and night. The Roosevelt as to my understanding is one of, if not the oldest Hotels in Hollywood and the reason it's still there is clear. Fashions may come and go but class always remains apparent and that’s what the Roosevelt Hotel has in abundance, class. The location is superb for exploring Hollywood, with the Graumans Chinese Theatre and the walk of fame on your door step. Plus many other sights, all with in walking distance. The hotel is also a short walk from a Metro station with Universal studios being one stop away. It has a great restaurant and bar in Dakota's and the pool bar Tropicana is buzzing of a weekend with a young good looking party crowd. If you are looking for something a bit more laid back then 25 Degrees is great, it also has superb burgers which I very nearly couldn’t finish. But when food taste that good, why not indulge! The accommodation its self all though not the biggest of rooms was also a delight. With a pleasant modern design and luxurious bedding, making the job of getting up in the morning a difficult task. The bathroom, again was a bit small but with great facilities. The shower was powerful and needed after a hard days sight seeing or a hard nights drinking. I am sure that Hollywood has a many number of superb hotels that also have a lot to offer, but if I return to Hollywood the Roosevelt will unquestionably be at the top of my list.

For the location, price, and nostalgia, thus hotel is great. Only wish the wifi was free. $10 a day for internet access from anywhere in California is a bit absurd when the most technologically advanced cities have a hotel charging for wifi. I can stay, or even visit, the Standard on Sunset without having to pay for wifi. Let alone all the other hotels priced higher and lower than the Roosevelt
