Hotel Scandinavia - Bruselas

Extremely hot days when we stayed. Noisy at night. If air conditioning was, it would have been good. The area is strange and smelly. Breakfast was nice and staffs were friendly. Good for family with young kids, except the circumstances.

A litany of annoyances! First, they failed to have a cot, which we carefully ordered in advance. Next, the room safe was unusable and they weren't going to fix it. Then the room telephone didn't work. Again, I'd have to wait another day to fix this. Finally, the curtains didn't shut properly (- there was a pane missing). When I asked, I was told that this was "normal". After much huffing and puffing, and shrugging of shoulders, the totally unhelpful porter rehung the curtains and fixed them together with paper clips so we had a chance of not being awoken by the rising sun.

This hotel has the bare minimums but it very noisy and not well heated during winter months. On the other hand it is realatively cheap and will offer to some folks good value for their money.

A completely overpriced horrible hotel. Reception doubles up as the hotel restaurant with a live soccer match being played in the middle. Honestly imagine havinf dinner with a match being played on one side and guests checking in behind you. Bizzare and one to avoid ....pay extra for somewhere else is my tip...

The staff at this hotel work doubly hard to give good service but the location and the general shabbiness no doubt give them headaches. The area is not unsafe but I would not recommend it for girls travelling on their own - very much downtown Brussels with men's drinking clubs on every corner. Apart from the hotel's own restaurant itself you would need to travel in to the city centre to eat. Fortunately the hotel has recognised this and runs a free mini bus to and from the city centre.

Some people my be a little put off by the neighborhood but it is two blocks from the metro with easy access to the rest of town. There are several internet cafes within a block and excellent bakeries and French pastry shops. The hotel is staffed by friendly people. The room was large and clean. Since the room was not air conditioned, we had to leave the windows open. Our room faced the street and noise from the street and bars kept us up all night. Perhaps, a room facing the rear of the hotel would be much better.

Chambre petite, lit confortable. Rue très passante: difficile de laisser les fenêtres ouvertes et pas de clim....Un peu chaud l'été. A 10 min. à pied du centre: Super pour visiter Bruxelles, d'autant plus que l'hôtel possède un petit parking pour les clients (payant mais prix modéré pour la ville)

hôtel bien situé, calme, petit déjeuner copieux, accueil agréable, propre.

La chambre qui m'a été attribuée donnait sur la cour, mais acoustiquement parlant, j'ai "profité" de tout le quartier, très bruyant, la nuit jusqu'à 4 h du matin. Sur le site il était indiqué "très grand lit", j'ai dormi dans un 80*190 collé au mur et peu confortable. Quant au buffet du petit-déjeuner, servi entre 7 et 10h, il n'était ni varié ni bon, goûts à peine corrects ou faussés selon les produits. En résumé, prestation moyenne pour un trois étoiles, mais peut-être est-ce en partie ce que l'on vous donne pour le prix proposé ici ?

The hotel is kind of worn out. The area is kind of sub-urban. I asked for a smoke-free room at reservation time and they gave me a room in which somebody had recently smoked. It was the cheapest I could find in Brussel and since this was important to me the hotel was "ok". The room, bed and bath-rooms were clean, and no bugs or rats in sight :-) I had not tried their breakfast, which was included in the price.

La chambre donne sur la rue au 1er étage. Il n'y a aucun afaiblissement acoustique entre fenêtre ouverte ou fenêtre fermée et le quartier est "vivant" la nuit ! De plus l'enseigne lumineuse de l'hotel s'allume et s'éteint toute les trois secondes provoquant un bourdonnement quand elle est allumée ! La douche ne fonctionne pas, il n'y a ni ventilation ni fenêtre dans la salle de bain. Un bon point : une navette gratuite nous emmène et nous ramène du vieux centre ville.

Venlig betjening, parkering i lukket gård 9 euro pr. nat, rent og hyggeligt hotel, tæt på Metro og byen.

Brandalarm hylede en time i træk i 2 dage. Intet sæbe, toiletpapir, loftet var vamdtæt og dryppede! Men sød personale .

POINTS NEGATIFS : - Certaines chambres donnent sur une rue très fréquentée (chaussée de Mons). Il n'y a pas de double vitrage. - Chauffage difficilement réglable (trop chaud ou pas assez). - Une seule couverture sur le lit. (Pas de couverture supplémentaire dans l'armoire). POINTS POSITIFS : - Bonne disponibilité du personnel. (Lorsque j'ai demandé une couverture supplémentaire; voir ci-dessus; la personne de la réception m'en a apporté une autre immédiatement dans la chambre). - Hygiène très saisfaisante. Exemple : la couverture citée ci-dessus a été apportée dans une housse plastique hermétique. - Petit déjeuner, (sous forme de buffet libre service), très satisfaisant. - Bon rapport qualité-prix. - Situation géographique intéressante par rapport aux transports en commun (ligne de bus devant l'hôtel, et gare principale de Bruxelles-Midi peu éloignée). EVALUATION GLOBALE : - Bon hôtel pour un bref déplacement à caractère professionnel ou privé en raison principalement de sa proximité par rapport aux principaux points d'intérêt de la capitale belge.

Je vous deconseille de dormir dans cette hôtel, il s'agit d'un 3etoiles, mais plutot 1 !, j'ai dormi dans une chambre coté rue, juste du simple vitrage! sirene, klaxon, rue. Pas de radiateur!, et qqles cafards dans la salle de bain (3). L'hôtel est assez loin du centre en journée 25min marche, mais taxi obliger la nuit! zone sensible (15euros), mais la prochaine fois je prendrai un autre hôtel !!
