the air conditioner was already broken when i arrived to room and i was told that someone would repair after i left for the evening. i cam eback to the same broken A.C. and was told nobody can come in until the morning. the next day a tech came to tell me that it wasnt fixable and walked away. i called the loby to find there were no openings that night and we were stuck once again with a hot and humid august night in san diego. we were transfered to the next room the third day to find that the toilet was broken. when i called the loby, the maintanance guy left a plunger at my door and left-i was to plunge as needed, i guess. i was happy to leave and never come back. to make matters worse, staff was unresponsive and impolite. they were very difficult in accomodating and it was an overall horrible experience.

The hotel was literally falling apart. 2 or the 3 elevators were broken and we were on the 4th floor. Parking was an issue and I was not told that there was a daily fee for parking. The breakfast left much to be desired. Pastry, waffle, or an orange. Coffee was horrible, no healthy food options. The hotel was extremely loud at night and they charge for internet access which is uncommon these days. Kids Suite was nice to have but would prefer no bunkbeds as it is difficult to keep a toddler from wanting to climb the ladder and there was no way to remove or babyproof it.

I couldn't believe that hotel guests had to pay $5 to park in their tiny parking spots!! Also, if we came back to the hotel after 9:00, it was a chore to find an available space. The free breakfast was not what I had expected either. There were only muffins, cold cereal and milk, and danishes. And good luck getting in there after 8a.m. It was so crowded. We were better off going to McDonalds for breakfast. Lastly, the rooms were clean and newly remodeled but a little small. The bathroom vanity area should have been made bigger.

Our family stayed for three nights in this hotel. It was just okay! The rooms were decorated nicely, but small. We had the kids suite which was great for the kids. The rest of the room was rather cramped. It's an older property so the walls are VERY thin and you could hear everything and everybody out in the halls, upstairs and next door. We were woken up every morning around 5-6am by something or someone talking/slamming doors etc. The breakfast buffet is a complete joke. It's way too small to accommodate the number of guests staying at the hotel. We waited in a line out the door for the waffle station and a toaster not to mention trying to find a table to sit at. We only ate there the first morning and then went out to breakfast off site the next two mornings. It was not worth the hassle and crowds. Also our second night there my kids were looking forward to night swimming and when we got down to the pool it was closed for cleaning due to an "accident" earlier in the evening. They were very disappointed to say the least. The parking in the garage is very tight and crowded plus they charge you a nightly fee to park there which was not disclosed to us prior to booking the room. So plan for that added extra charge if you want parking. I probably wouldn't stay here again.

ok price, ok location- close to all major attractions. Hotel staff very helpful with questions about getting around to downtown- Gaslamp and Petco Park. Parking spaces were kinda tight; some guest took up 2 spots with huge SUV's. We informed the hotel desk; nothing was done to alleviate parking problem. Had to park out on the street one night which is kind of ridiculous that we paid for parking that night but was not able to park in the lot.

We were very concerned when we pulled up because the outside does not offer much to look at, but once we stepped into the lobby we could tell it had been completely renovated and was really nice. We reserved a two room kids suite and the adult side was kind of tight, but the kids loved their bunk beds and they had plenty of floor space to play. It was very updated, had a refridgerator and two tvs. Overall a very comfortable room. The continental breakfast was very crowded, but was in a very large breakfast room and items were continuously replinished and we always found a table. We did not use the pool but it looked nice as well. The location was very close to Old Town, Seaworld, the Zoo and two malls. Parking was tight, but they have a garage and it seemed easier to park in there than outside in the lot - there was more space in the garage to back out.

We weren't expecting much with the price that hotels.com was able to get us, but we were pleasantly surprised. Not only was our room really nice, we also got an unexpected couch. The breakfast is held in a huge room and had so many selections we never had to eat out for breakfast. One night our toilet clogged up, so in the morning I went down to report it. By the time I got back to the room, it was already fixed and ready to go. The only downside to the hotel would be the location in terms of public transportation. First off, there are two Comfort Inns, in the same general location, so it can be confusing on which is which. Second, the last bus from the Old Town Transit center leaves at 9:20 PM, so if you want to be out later than that, you'll need a taxi or to drive, as walking is not recommended.

We stayed here on our recent trip to San Diego and first of all we found it a little bit difficult to navigate around off the freeway and the parking lot was very tight. When we arrived to the hotel it was very clean and nice and the staff was very friendly. We needed a crib for our room and they brought that right up to us. The room was clean and the beds were pretty comfortable. The sofa bed was very much not comfortable, however. This hotel was great for the price compared to the surrounding areas, so if price is an issue and you won't be spending too much time in your room I would recommend this hotel. If you are staying for a long period of time and will be in your room quite a bit I'd say to find a more spacious hotel. We had the double suite by the way.

When I reserved the room on hotels.com, I thought I was reserving a suite. This was not the case. We got a room with two double beds and the front desk said that is what we reserved through the hotels.com web site. This may be the fault of the web site in not making it clear what type of room was being reserved, but it was misleading at best. Otherwise the room was good. The only disappointing part was the breakfast room. It was way to small for the number of guests trying to use it. It looked like most guests were carrying their breakfast back to their room as I had to if I wanted to sit down while eating.

This hotel needs alot of improvements. Let me start with the hotel room. We walked in, and everything seemed ok at first. I opened the window and found out that I was facing a busy freeway. I go to San Diego for the weather and the tropical feeling, and a get a busy freeway. The decor was modern and nice. My family and I took a shower the first night and used all the bath towels, and the next day when housekeeping came in to clean the room they did not leave any bath towels. We called the front desk 3 times to finally get some towels. My son found an old molding apple under one of the double beds. The first night my wife and I jumped out of the bed, there was a baby roach crawling on the sheets. The guest next door were really loud. Finally the continental breakfast, it was on the fourth floor in a small room. They did not plan this out very well. People were cramed in the room like sardines. They had 1 waffle maker, and 1 toaster. You had to make your own waffles which took a long time. You had a long line of people waiting to make the waffals and toast. I would have rather payed for a decent breakfast somewhere else. We ended up leaving back to our room with a couple of cold bagels, brand muffins, and some boiled eggs. I would definitly not recommend this hotel to anybody.

This hotel, on the inside, was adequate. The rooms were comfortable and in general it was quiet. One thing we like to do is spend the day at Sea World and in the evening retire to our room to order pizza and watch movies. When we got to the room we noticed that the on demand movie menu was not accessing. We called every hour for 3 hours to get a new remote. The hostess was verbally apologetic, but there was no authenticity behind her apology. it ended up 4 hours later i had to go find maintenance to get a new remote. When I got the new remote the on demand still did not work. I guess there is a little box on the back that was not working and the movie menu could not be accessed. Like I was gonna call to get that fixed....... Right. Service a ZERO.

We booked this hotel after reading good reviews. Hotel was ideally located for Sea World and San Diego Zoo. Eating places nearby. Room was very clean and comfortable. We had the kids suite which had bunk beds nearest the window end of the room and glass doors to close if we wanted to. It did make our part of the room slightly dark, but we weren't in there very much so didn't really matter to us. Pool area was very nice. Breakfast OK, with cereal, toast, bagels, cakes, and make your own waffles!

This is our 2nd stay at this hotel. We have 3 kids, 16, 12 & 10 and having the suites with the french door separation really makes all the difference! Just enough breathing room to eliminate a 2nd room. The lobby has been renovated since our stay less than a year ago, I hope they'll continue throughout. The rooms furnishings seem updated but the window appeared to be on the brink of just falling out of the wall. Our room, much like the hallways are musty, but opening the window for a couple hours really helped. Our room, like last time, was clean, extra towels came when asked. Breakfast is blah, but enough to get something in your belly to start your day. Super convenient location, great value for the money. We'd continue to stay here.

Noisy, kids running around at night - security takes their time when dispatched. I guess you get what you pay for. It is not a private owned parking lot it is the hotel's lot and it's not like we were leaving our vehicle and taking a shuttle. We checked in late at night and left early AM. Parking fee was a little overboard. They as charge a fee for TV. There are no local channels only PPV. I would probably not stay in this room again.
