A little difficult to get to (especially if you have luggage and the streets were closed off to traffic due to local events). The concierge was very helpful with travel advice. The rooms are a bit tired but comfortable enough for a short stay. Room had air conditioning which many other Hotels do not. Close to a town square with lots of cafes etc. and a tram stop is not too far away. Whilst it is situated on a canal, there is only limited access to it and you cannot sit outside the hotel with a view of the canal. Provides free internet access at reception and in the ground floor bar area.

I was suprised the hotel was a three star when i arrived in the lobby, and even more so when i arrived in the double room. It was spacious, had plenty of furniture (4 chairs, desk and bed) clean and comfortable. The only down side and probably the reason it is not a four star is the maid service- they literally just made the bed, and often didn't fill up the tea/coffee by the tea-making facility. However, for the price it was very good value for money!

We did not have soap in the bathroom for shower or hands and some light bulbs were burned out. We reported this and only some things were corrected. Also when we went to shower we discovered we only had one large towel and one small towel for two people. Our room was also noisy. We only stayed one night and were glad.

This hotel was next to everything and conferable. Rooms were bordering on a bit small but for the price and location its well worth it. Chance you arm and ask for a room with a view, as the hotel is surrounded buy fantastic sites and canals. Some rooms only have a wall view, not to great! but still not to bad... Hotel staff were great very helpful. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone

Excellent Hotel with good reception service/helpful. Room was small but nicely done, beds were super comfortable and had a lot of conveniences. Breakfast was too expensive. Convenient to trolly and canal boat stops, they scheduled a excursion for us that went very smoothly. Nice bar in hotel, great location. lobby area includes 4 PCs with free internet. Make sure they tell you about the back door entrance which is closer to the restaurnats and trolly stop.

Staff in hotel (especially the concierge) were very helpful and friendly so no quibbles there - we ended up in the top floor apartment (next to the main hotel building) so cannot pass comment on the actual hotel rooms as such. Despite have to climb incredibly steep stairs to reach out apt, we were pleasantly surpised by the size of living space we had - double bed at the back, living area, kitchenette and another double bed in mezzanine level sleeping area. Only criticisms were that the room was too hot even with windows open - could do with air-con. as hotel rms were advertised as having (there was a fan for the mezzanine rm however); also the furnishings were a bit old and could do with upgrading - despite this, it did not detract from our enjoyment of the visit (we didn't spend too much time in hotel anyway) and would defo stay there again - location was amazing as was the view of the canal!! Hotel offers useful bicycle hire service too :)

This was a weekend trip. The hotel is ok, could be a bit cleaner--specifically the shower could be cleaner. The room we were given was on the second floor and faced a side street even when I kindly requested a room facing the water upon making the reservation. I didn't mind this so much as I had been to the city before and thought perhaps it would be less noisy only to find that there is a club accross the street that goes all night. This was a little annoying. On the plus side, the hotel staff is generally pleasant (some more than others) and the location is pretty accessible to restaurants, etc., with one of the main canals right in front of the hotel.

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel, especially for the price. Everyone who worked there was very nice. The room was comfortable and fairly large by European Standards. The hotel is OK, the rooms are adequate, but the bathroom is very small, no-where to put toliteries. There is no tea & coffee facilities in the room. Due to the type of building the was only a small window in one corner of the room which looked out onto a wall approx 5 feet away so the room was quite dark.

This hotel is brilliantly located just out of the hustle and bustle of Dam centre. The hotel is well furnished throughout with modern appliances all in working order. Everything was clean and in good condition, and the room was lovely. The staff were very friendly, the bar area is a nice place to have your morning coffee or evening drink before heading out. My only problem with this hotel is that the staff responsible for cleaning the rooms each morning made an Absolute racket every morning past, above and below our room. Im quite a deep sleeper and this woke me everyday. In my experience of staying at other hotels - the cleaning staff have been, and should be quiet as mice.

As this hotel was relatively cheap we thought there might be a few compromises which there were... PROs - its in a great location near bars, restaurants and cafes - our room was clean, comfortable and modern. I stayed with my partner for a sightseeing weekend. We found the staff friendly and helpful, liked the room's design. The bed was incredibly comfortable, too. Location is fantastic, great view from our room over the Amstel. Right next to Rembrandt Square with loads of cafe's, bars and several nice Coffeshops nearby. About 20 mins walk from most of Central Amsterdams sights. Anne Frank's House and Van Gough were further out but all in walking distance. If Coffeshops are your thing try the Greenhouse over the river and next to the Music Theater. Friendly staff, great cup sizes and outside smoking section. Also near the red light district, about 10 mins walk away. Room was comfy, although twin beds pushed together really puts a crink in your back. Very nicely decorated. We didnt try the hotel food as we ate out every day. All in all this was a fantastic hotel and we were very pleased with our stay and the level of service we recieved. Definatley recomend it to young couples who are visiting Amsterdam for the first time.

Amazing location, right in the heart of Tivoli gardens, where all the action is. We stayed in the apartments, which are very clean and spacious. Friendly and courteous front office staff. Free internet access was great. Breakfast was very good and was included at no charge. Had problems with loud noise from the back alley early in the morning, but used my earplugs to get over it. We decided to rent bikes to tour Copenhagen (I highly recommend it) and found the hotel bike rental cost too high. We found a great bike rental place just behind the train Central Station a couple of blocks away, for about half the price. This hotel was by far the best hotel experience we had out of the 4 countries we visited on our trip. I highly recommend it.

the Eden Hotel, Amsterdam was a very nice hotel, the Staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. The room we first had was a simple 1 room hotel room, but they moved us into an efficiency apartment (that's what I had booked, a room with a kitchenette) having this small apartment allowed us to cook our own meals as opposed to eating out every night.. which saved me a bundle. The view from the apartment was very nice.. you could look across the canal and see the Theatre Museum. The only complaint I have the the odd check-in time. (3pm or 15:00) that's a little late in the afternoon. We were very tired after our flight and thankfully the hotel allowed us to stay in a sppare room when we arrived.
