The hotel needs to clean the elevator's interior wall and doors (unbelievably super dirty). The receptionest's attitude for late check-in guests after midnight should be changed. So rude!!!!!! My first room was full of ants everywhere. The second room was fine. The receptionist put me in the worst room. Parking fee $20.00/day($80.00 for 4 nights) was too much. I would rather go to five star hotel if I have to pay $20.00 eveyday. No restaurant...? Gym was very funny small.

I spent the weekend at this hotel, and overall it really wasnt that bad. The hotel was a little dated, but very clean. the rooms were nothing special, but considering I was in town to see the town, not to spend it in my room, it worked just fine. the only problem we really had the whole weekend was with our key cards- out of the 3 we were given at first, only 1 opened the door. We got 3 new cards from teh front desk, and they were difficult at best. I do admit, i wish the rooms had come with a fridge, but other than that, no complaints. The valet parking was actually relativly cheap for a hotel in LA, only about $20 a night. The location wasnt bad, right accross the street from the metro, but not somewhere i'd decide to walk around. If you have the use of a car its located nicely between downtown, beverly hills and hollywood.

When you first arrive you think this is going to be great - Great lobby area, friendly staff - and then you get to your room where the carpet is stained and dirty, the beds are circa 1970 (as is the decor of the room) and uncomfortable, and the bathroom is....beyond description. Let's just say the bathrooms need serious renovations. Please note, parking is valet only and is $20 night...not terribly unreasonable considering every location in California seems to charge a fee for parking and during my recent trips I've paid as much as $30/night. In short, if you need a place to crash, this hotel will work. It is safe and in a reasonable neighborhood but if you have a thing for cleanliness, this is not your place.

The hotel itself was very nice. The room was clean and the front desk had good service. The location was not that great because nothing was within walking distance. However it is right across the street from a metro station and a bus station, and the hotel staff was helpful in providing information about using these.

The staff were nice & friendly and so were the valet.... The lobby was just as nice as shown in the pictures.... But the room wasn't... There were a few stains on the carpet floor & the a/c made a rumbling noise every now and then & you could hear the cars and trucks driving by on the street all through the night... I would say that the hotel room was not any better than a Motel 6 room.... I most likely will not be staying here again... But the location was great... and there is a $20 per night valet fee.

Overall the Hotel is very nice. Based on some reviews I read I was a little weary. However, after staying there I'm not sure where the complaints arise from. The hotel is very nice, very well kept, and just a short drive to any touristy areas you may want to go to. The area was very safe and I never thought twice about walking around late at night. Someone in a previous review complained the pool was indoor, however this is false, the pool is outdoor, located on the second floor. My only complaint would be the surprise valet only parking. It was a bit steep at $20/night and was a shock to see at first given it is not mentioned anywhere on the website. However, the valet guys were very nice, quick, and polite. All things considered, even with the extra $20/night, this hotel was worth every penny and I would highly recommend it. (I fell I should put a bit of a disclaimer though, if you're used to 5-star treatment and whatnot, then this isn't the hotel for you... If you're looking for a comfortable, convenient, clean place to stay then this is definitely recommended.)

I stayed for 14 nights just recently I found the room was clean and comfortable, I only had 2 problems my remote control wasnt working & also my hairdryer both was sorted out promptly. The view from my room was great had a view of the Hollywood sign from my window. The hotel was conveniently located for both metro bus and train lines I didnt have a car so relied on public transport . I didnt use many of the hotel facilities just had breakfast in the restaurant the once thought the prices were abit pricey but then again so is most places in LA, I also used the internet and again found this abit pricey its an outside company that provide this service and I also used the gift shop. On the whole I would stay here again.

Don't stay here! I can't say that enough. First off the pictures online are not the hotel! We checked in thinking hmmm not the greatist are but it will do for a couple nights. We walked in and saw the beautiful marble floors and thought this isnt so bad. Then we got in the room. It looked like a crime scene out of CSI!!!! The bed sheets were stained, the carpet looked like somone died on it and the carpet in the hall was stained all over the place. I went outside on the street of a not so good area to make calls to find another hotel ASAP, and checked out 20 mins later. Do not stay here look elsewhere.

My husband said he has stayed at places that others gave a bad review and it was fine... This was not the case. The lobby is beautiful and it stops there. Rooms are old, carpet worn & dirty, water marks on ceiling, mildew in bathroom, tv options terrible. We were taking a quick family vacation to Universal Studios and were trying to save money. Wish we had spent more...

What I like in this hotel is that the location is accessible to almost everywhere you want to go. You don't need to rent a car. The subway is just right accross the hotel. My family and I was able to go to the mall in downtown, to Hollywood, to China Town by just using the subway. If you want to go to the airport you can just take the subway and a Fly away bus. Staying at Wilshire Plaza Hotel makes it easier for me to roam around LA at less expense in transportation. It's good to know that being our first time in LA make it easier for us to go around the city because we choose a hotel that is in the right location.

Over all, this was an outstanding hotel. The employees were quite plesant, & the vallet service was excellent! Other than the carpet in the room being so dirty, I highly recomend this hotel.

After reading mixed reviews about this hotel, i decided to just give it a shot. i wasnt expecting anything particularly plush so when i arrived i wasn't surprised by the hotels old feel. the staff were very nice and when we checked in didnt hold any money from our card, as we said we wouldnt be using any extra facilities. Our room was ok, but like the rest of the hotel had that old, dusty feeling. we had no fridge which i thought was a bit rubbish and the bed spread looked like something that belonged in your grandmothers house- i prefer white sheets myself, the bed wasn't all that comfortable, i didn't like lying in it unless i was really tired. The location wasn't good at all, it is in the middle of koreatown- or what seemed like Koreatown. there werent many bars or options nearby for food, not any of decent quality anyway and gave us a rather tarnished view of Los Angeles. Plus it costs $20 per day to park your car at the hotel! I definately wouldnt bother staying at this hotel again. Although its not awful, it put a cloud over our holiday.

The hotel has not been updated for some time. The fixtures appear to date back to the 1960s. Moreover, the hotel is not properly maintained. The ceiling in my hotel room, in the bathroom and in the hallway was riddled with water stains and what appeared to be mold. The entire hotel room smelled of rotten eggs and sewage. While the staff was generally courteous, the actual building was entirely uncomfortable and unpleasant.

We stayed @ this hotel before and had no problem. However, on this trip we had major issues. The lights did not work, the heater did not work (but the ac did because it blew COLD air all night long). We ended up calling the front desk all night and they didn't seem to care. They did fix the light issue by giving us new light bulbs. They gave us a portible heater which was only 10 inch by 10 inch and that did not work either. We ended up getting sick due to the COLD ac blowing all night. Also the bathroom need to be refurbished because they have mold issues. Find another hotel... a few more dollars could have had me at the hyatt or something better

Stayed here with a friend because we wanted to do the Hollywood thing and every dive motel in Hollywood was the same price er night as this anyway. Pretty close to West Hollywood, only about 4 miles away, pretty close to Dodger Stadium as well. Only beef is that when I booked the room, I had the option of a room with a king size bed or a room with two queen size beds. I picked the room with the two beds and when I get there to check in, the clerk tells me they don't have two doubles, only one king. I pull out my receipt that says what I booked and he gives me this "don't care, take it or leave it attitude". The room they gave us was right behind the elevator shaft so all night you hear their loud elevators running up and down, up and down. The room was clean and relatively close to stuff but the room was sort of uncomfortable, due to being loud from the elevator.

This hotel was on Wilshire but further away from the central part of LA than I expected. It is an automatic valet costing $20 a night. The lobby is gorgeous but thats about it. The rooms were disgusting water damage all over the ceiling and carpets looked very dirty. Overall it was horrible.

I walked into the hotel and admired the lobby, only to go up to my room and see something that looked more like a motel 6. It was old, musty, cracks in the ceiling and not roomy or comfy at all. The toilet didn't flush, our phone didn't work, and neither did the air conditioner. My friends and I told the desk downstairs and nothing was ever taken care of. Without exception, all of the hotel staff were very helpful & friendly but rooms definitely didn't reflect price or the rest of the hotel. Much smaller than expected with minimal furnishings. Expensive "exclusive" spa desperately needs to be updated. Massage therapists not required to be professionally trained, so you pay top dollar for very marginal massages. I would rate spa a 1 out of 10. Lobby, bars, etc. are beautiful & well maintained, so not bad if you don't need a big room or spa services.

Stayed 1 night, given I booked the room less than a week in advance and the inexpensive price, great deal. The hotel lobby is promising, but the rooms are outdated and in need of improvement. I needed a hotel close to the USC campus and the location was great for that, but if you're looking for a quick bite/afternoon stroll, Koreatown is NOT for you... The staff was friendly (including the hotel bartender and valet greeters) --- but as posted in previous reviews, $20/night parking --- THERE IS NO SELF-PARKING. If applicable to you, include it in your quote when comparing hotels. Happy travels!

If you're looking for a nice, low-priced, and convenient hotel near down town L.A. this is it! About a 10 minute drive (with traffic) from the Staples Center, perfect for the weekend get-away to go see the Lakers play! We paid $20 and got valet service all day and night. This is so worth it, especially when you you get back from all of the fun and just want to crash. The hotel has everything you need, sweet lounge/bar by the lobby, and a breakfast stand where we were able to pick up coffee and bagels in the morning. There's even a fitness room and pool that we didn't even plan for! The service was nice and friendly. Hotel staff even asked about the game and shared a team-like attitude. Great business and we'll be sure to stay at the Wilshire again next time we're in LA!
