Comentado por Joseph, deRidgecrest, el sep 9, 2009
The only reason I even considered the Sahara, was that they had "upgraded" their rooms. The room was HORRIBLE! Beer bottles sticking out from under the bed, the carpets were wet and the shower hardly worked. When I showed the lady the paper work, about my upgraded room, (664) I was told it was the upgrade, if it was, I can't imagine just how bad a standard room would be. I will never stay here again, even if offered a free night stay. It's time to blow this place up & start over.

My wife and I didn't have any complaints during our stay here. Check-in was speedy, the workers were nice, and we had a nice view of the city from our room. The hotel is located in a good spot. Most things were in walking distance, etc. restaurants, shopping, bars, and gift shops. The overall Vegas experience was nice. We will most likely stay at this hotel the next time we visit.

Well, when we got there we found out there was a amenities fee of $18 (for pool, exercise room, phone). The shelf on the wall was falling out from the wall. There was some cheap food. $1 Hot Dogs and Beer. $4 Huge order of fries (enough for 3 people). The monorail made it easy to get down the strip, and Harrah's shuttle was a great way to get to the airport. The Pool was pretty good. So for the price paid it was a decent deal.

The Sahara has a great location...located at end of monorail-the monorail is a great mode of transportation!! The room was what expected...clean enough, although the air conditioner fan was VERY NOISY and there was a dripping sound. But I wore ear plugs to sleep so didn't bother me much. The pool area wasn't that great..pool is very shallow and water was too warm for how hot it was outside. But all together I got a great room rate...considering it was for the weekend and was a last minute reservation....so the Sahara worked for me and my family.

The Sahara's prices were cheap for a one night stay, however the rooms were not very clean, had not been vacuumed, and one bed was higher off the ground (about a foot) than the other, with one bed being very soft, and the other very hard. The staff were nice, however were very slow to complete requests. I would not stay here again, unless there were no other options.

This place is a dump. The whole hotel--lobby, halls, my room, everywhere--smelled like an ashtray. The bedding was ratty. The bathroom was old. The lighting was terrible. The workout equipment was broke. I am not sure if a rehab would be sufficient; it may need to be torn down.

The checkin line was extermly long with only two people working the desk. they were also answering phone calls. I paid 13.99 for internet access for a 24 hour period it only worked 6hour. the bath tub was stopped up, waited 2 hours for a plumber who got it to drain slowly. the next knight the tub stopped up again, oh the plumber is also the internet tech and was very upset he had to do two jobs which both were lousy.

The Sahara is reaching the end of it's lifespan, and is quite dated. However, this lends it some appeal, and reminds you of it's heyday, with pictures of the Rat Pack, The Beatles, Elvis etc. The rooms are clean and spacious, the lifts absolutely fly, and the lobby is always busy. Other casinos may be grander, but you can visit them, and stay in the Sahara, which is more affordable. It is quite a distance (about 2 miles) from the main area of the strip, but judging by the building work around it, it won't be long before this area becomes the 'business' again. The building work does not affect your stay. It has a large, and busy pool, and offers $1 beers and hot dogs all day ! Do avoid the buffet though, it's dreadful.

They took care of the problem and the rest of our stay was great. New room was clean and comfortable. Beds are a little hard, this was for the deluxe room, but the bedding and comfort of the room was good overall. Enjoyed the classic pictures and feel of the hotel. I would recommend.

The Room lay out was nice. Though, it wasn't in a clean state. The curtains were litterally almost black like they have never been wash since the building was built. The carpets could use a shampoo job. The bathroom shower was not very clean and the mat to through in the bottom had build up on it and was sticky. The shower had no pressure and if fact the party I was with in another room there know you pull to get the shower to turn on actually fell right apart when they tried to turn it on. They had to stick there toe up in the bottom of the spout to get to take a shower. I had a room with a patio. The patio had cigarette butts all over it from the previous guest prior to my stay. The table and chairs on the patio were torn, weather worn (rotted), and just plain filthy. The casino part of the Sahara was ok. I think next time I go to Vegas though I will definately spend the extra 10 to 20 dollars to stay at a much nicer up kept Hotel.

Expect to wait in line for at least an hour to check-in and pay $6.00 per night additional fees at the desk when you do. I booked a room with a king sized bed and while the room I got was very big the A/C didn't work and 2 of the lamps did not work either. I changed rooms after standing in line again for more than an hour but had to accept 2 queen beds. The new room had stains on the floor, the bathroom had a door that didn't close, tiles separating from the wall and rust in the drains and around the fixtures. I would have change rooms again but didn't want to have to stand in line for yet another hour or more. The casino seems to be under staffed and we were served no drinks while playing video poker at the bar for almost an hour. All in all this is likely the worst hotel I have staid at. If it were not for the easy access to the monorail to get me to another casino I would say it is completely worthless.

I have gone to Vegas for years. I just happened to pick this because friends were staying. My room look liked an episode of CSI was shot there. Stained Red Carpets-dirty bathroom. I would have expected a far better experience from such a casino/hotel. We purchased their "Premium Upgrade" special which we received for joining their players club prior to checking in. Upon arrival they had 3 people on a Friday afternoon/evening setting up these accounts for a line that stretched half way through the casino. When we did finally get to our "Premium Upgrade" accommodations, our 4th floor room overlooking the back street of the hotel had furniture that looked like it purchased from a yard sale. Old, beat up, dirty, missing handles..etc. The bathroom had hair on the floor, sink and even in the bath tub. (yech) The whole property just looks old and run down. The staff seemed listless and not at all happy to be there no matter where you went throughout the hotel or casino. The food at the buffet was terrible and way over priced. The coffee shop food was edible, but again overpriced for what you received and again, don't expect customer service with a smile. It seems that concept died with the last of the rat pack. I am not an overly picky person and have spent time working in the resort industry so I understand some things, but with all of the competition on the Las Vegas strip for the tourist dollar, this was just unacceptable. Your hard-earned dollars can be better spent elsewhere.

Walked into the room with already a stain in the carpet. Walked two feet to the bathroom and turned on the light to see the ceiling spackle chipped and browning. Countertops were spotless with the soaps and shampoos, however the floor was littered with long dark hair. The rubber non-slip cover was brown and felt sticky to the touch. Back out into the bedroom and noticed the vibrant colors of the Sahara, then realized our view was perfect. The bed is semi-soft and the pillows are firm. You definitely get what you pay for, we'd rather pay a bit more for the quality of a good night's rest.

WE arrived late, but check-in was pretty easy. When the first person in out party used the restroom, the paper holder fell off the wall. I used a wash cloth and it had so many holes in it that you could lay it on a newspaper and read the daily happenings. Overall the room was pretty clean, and there were plastic cups wrapped in plastic. This casino was not as well ventilated as I would expect and the room smelled a bit like old smoke. I do think hotels.com did the best they could on short notice, (we arrived a day earlier than planned originally)and they did great on our reservation for the hotel we stayed in the rest of our trip. kudos to them ! I would only stay at this particular hotel if there was nothing else available anywhere else on the strip. This hotel is the last stop for the monorail north on the strip($13 per 24 hrs pass) which closes down at 2am. It is a long walk if you stay out very late !

This hotel seemed scary. I stayed there as a child 20 years ago on trips as a child with my dad and I remember it being a nice hotel. The Sahara has really gone downhill since. As an adult going on trips for 10 years to Vegas this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. When we checked in it was an hour wait in line just to check into our room. I could understand if this were a busy holiday weekend but not for a Sunday night stay. I have never had this experience at any hotel ever. The room we got looked like it was run down, stains on the carpet and the rom was not clean. I had to request another room to stay in. It took 3 hours before they put us in a cleaner room. My girlfriend was put in a bad mood after all of this and it put a damper on us the rest of the night. Overall the hotel and casino staff were rude. Even other quests shared the same opinions with us and how they would never come back to stay. It was a lot different compared to how nice it used to be staying there as a child. It is sad to see how much they have let the place go downhill so much.
