The hotel is clean, comfortable (a bit outdated maybe, but has all the essentials) and in a good location. This hotel is at the top of South William St which has a great selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs. You are within walking distance of Stephen's green, the Gaiety Theater and Grafton St. The pub/nightclub 'Break for the Boarder' is next door, but I had no issues with noise levels etc. Overall, a nice hotel in a great location, very reasonably priced.

having stayed in countless hotels all over the world this hotel was VERY disappointing to say the least! Very overpriced for a bare basic room. WHATEVER YOU DO MAKE SURE YOUR ROOM IS NOT AT THE FRONT SIDE OF THE HOTEL!!!! There is a bar and a nightclub in the same building, the Karaoke is SO loud you can hear every (badly-sung) word. The club goes on until 2.30am & people hang around outside for another hour or 2 after that. There was no warning of this when booking or checking in. Before you think i'm just a grumpy old man i'm not, i'm actually a nightclub DJ myself but I was on a romantic weekend with my girlfriend & thumping music was the last thing you want!

Not a 3-star hotel as advertised! We arrived early and were told that they had overbooked by 20 rooms and that we would be moved to their sister hotel. We had booked 5 months earlier and had prepaid so we convinced them to move someone else that had not even shown up yet. In hindsight, maybe the other hotel would have been a better choice. The hotel is old and the lobby is small and unimpressive. Only one of the two elevators was working. The room furniture was mostly contemporary and a hotel would have been better with period furniture which would have made it more cozy and appealing. The rooms have no A/C, as most places in Ireland, and the room was overly warm but a fan was provided with a simple request. Service was good in my opinion. There were no washcloths, (face cloths), shampoo, lotion, or other amenities that are normally standard in even more economically priced hotels. We stayed three days and no washcloths were available the entire time. There is no counter space in the bath, with only a small and narrow ledge to rest a few toiletries on. The room was relatively clean but not overly so. The hotel was definitely in need of repairs. Wallpaper was peeling from the walls, woodwork in the bath was damaged and veneer was peeling and bubbled up. Holes in the ceiling needed to be patched and painted. Although we did not come to Dublin to watch TV in the room, the reception was poor on most stations available, and only two or three were actually watchable. When you are in for the evening a few more choices would have been nice. With a club adjacent to the hotel it was very noisy until 2:00am, with the bass reverberating through the walls. Sleep did not come easy until the pub closed. We expected it to be a little noisy, but this exceeded what we had anticipated. If I were to visit Dublin again, I would stay out of the city center, and use the money I saved to hire a taxi, take the bus, or jump on a train to visit the city. You could use the money you save to ha

3 friends and I stayed in this hotel on one of the 6 nation rugby weekends recently. For 4 youngish (25-35) men it was perfect, centrally located within a few minutes of Temple Bar, Grafton Street and St Stephens Green and about 10 minutes walk from Connelly station. That covers a lot of the shops, bars and restaurants that Dublin has to offer. The hotel bar is Break for the Border, a large well known bar, nightclub and restaurant, which made it an excellant choice for us although it may be a bit noisy for a family break or non drinkers. The rooms were a decent size, exaclty as ordered and most importantly clean. Checking into and out of the hotel was a very straight forward and pleasant experience.

This is the noisest hotel I've ever stayed in. It has a bar in the lobby and is surrounded by pubs that all stay open til very late. Then, at 7 am, the truck comes around to pick up the empty beer kegs. As for the room, it was far less than expected and the housekeeping was at its bare minimum. Nothing gets changed or cleaned unless you're there to ask the housekeeper. Housekeeping also enters the room without knocking. The front desk staff was informative and helpful and the location is good, but I would not recommend this nor would stay there again

I decided to stay in this hotel as the location is truely excellent! (once you've found it for the first time!) However... Getting back to my room at night (on the 3rd floor) all I could hear was the music from the club. Itried to drown it out with the TV but I could still hear the music over the TV at maximum volume (the TV isn't very loud!). This goes on til 2:30am. Don't stay here if you intend to sleep before then. Was told there is nothing they can do about the noise. Would not go back!!

Room was clean and comfortable; tidied every day with comfortable shower and large tub. Temple Bar area was a few minutes walk and the coffee shop on the corner serves fanatastic free-trade espresso and scones! It was also great that the concierge allowed you to leave your bags before check-in time and after you check-out. The concierge also arranged for our bags to be brought to our room while we were out and about the first day. The only drawback to the hotel was that you could hear the music and bass-line from the club next door. It wasn't too loud that it interrupted your sleep, but it was moderately noticeable; then again, compared to NYC nightlife, things end quite early in Dublin, so the noise is tolerable.

This hotel was the perfect location to visit all of the historic areas of Dublin. It was an older and smaller European style hotel which paid special attention to the little details (iron/board, hair dryer, coffee/tea, etc.) The room although older, was extremely clean. The bed was comfortable and inviting with luxurious bedding. Shops and restaurants abound in walking distance. And... quiet street but just a block from the action. We arrived at 7:00 in the morning from the States and since they were not full, let us check in early to catch a nap before viewing all of the sights. Very accomidating.
