The room is spacious and great quality. The only complain is the walk to the nearest MTR (subway) is about 10 minutes. Some good restaurants nearby that open 24 hours.

Many years ago i stayed at the Hotel Nikko and enjoyed my stay. That was obviously a lifetime ago... This place is awful. The rooms are dated (for 4 stars) the concierge was nasty and quite unhelpful, and the breakfast which i paid extra for, was really marginal. (let me not forget to tell you, its the worst hotel coffee i have had anywhere) Lots of things to choose from at breakfast, but most choices are tasteless. Really unfriendly staff at breakfast that cant wait to get you out of the room. The one nice thing i can say, the guys outside who get a cab for you are helpful, courteous, and polite. Maybe they should put them inside?? This hotel is also located on the tourist side of the island, (busy streets with lots of tourist trap shops) so i suggest you choose another hotel on the more fun side of hong kong. (i left and checked into the Mandarin Oriental) I was one unhappy customer.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff was attentive and friendly. The room had an amazing view of the harbor. The room was well equipped with extras: free bottled water, shaving kits, cotton balls, shampoos, etc. The bed with fluffy comforter and down pillows was exceptionally comfortable. Our only complaint was that we were unable to stay longer. I would highly recommend this as a stopover from the Hong Kong airport, as the shuttle is approx. 25 minutes. It is a short walk to great restaurants, Starbucks, and the "Walk of Stars. "

We were a little nervous about staying at the Hotel Nikko, as we had read varying reviews. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is very clean, the room was, while not overly large, perfect for our needs, and the hotel staff was very accomodating (when we requested extra hangars they appeared immediately; our request for a high floor was granted without a problem). We utilized the free shuttle into downtown TST, which was a big help. The hotel is a great bargain, and we recommend it highly! Also, check out the Sky Bar on the 15th floor: great food and drinks, and an amazing view!

We enjoyed our stay so much our first time here that we returned. It helped that during our first trip we were upgraded to a harbor view. The location is convenient as is their neighborhood shuttle service. Our only complaint was that the rooftop pool was somewhat difficult to find, had short hours, and was closed during our stay due to a thunderstorm that never materialized.

The amenities and service at the hotel were outstanding. The view from the harbor view room we had on the 6th floor was great. The sky lounge was also a great place to visit. Though the hotel is not in the heart of Kowloon, you can take a cab across town for about US $3 (Ferry terminal, night market etc.), it's also only a 10-15 minute walk from the ferry terminal on the west side and about a 10 minute walk to Nathan St. Abundant shopping and dining is right around the corner. I will definitely stay at the Nikko again. p.s. Wifi is available only on the upper floors, public lounges and lobby. The lower floors only have wired broadband connections though they provide the cables. This however, will not work for smart phones, if you absolutely need wifi, opt for a higher floor (upgraded room), laptops will work fine in any room with the wired connection.

Excellent Hotel, roomy, tremendous view. The Hotel rooms are full size(American Standard) which is unusual for most Hong Kong Hotels. The rooms are well appointed, very clean, quiet. Could not ask for any improvments as far as rooms go.Bathrooms have seperate shower area and tub. Phone in bath plus piped in TV or radio speakers a nice touch. Suggest upgrade to Harbor View, one of the best you will experience. Many frequent the bars and restaurants on the Harbor for the view, you have 24/7 from your room First Class Hotel, staff very helpful, example finding medication after normal working hours. Doorman regularly clarify your destination in Chinese to the Taxi Drivers. Recommend you carry Hotel Name Card with you for your return trip to avoid problem with drivers. The location is about 3 blocks from the Star Ferry. There are Hotels closer to the Ferry and Shopping, but you give up a lot in accomodations. I have stayed in many rooms half the size. There is a walkway suspended over the Harbor that will take you to Star Ferry, Museums and Shopping. Food- Buffet breakfast at Hotel excellent, more Western choices than most. You always have mcDonalds at the Star Ferry or Ruth Chris a block away. Finally, a few tips Take the Star Ferry to Hong Kong Island, First glass less than 50 cents. On Arrival walk in 3 blocks to the Buss staging. Take the Double Decker Bus to the Town of Stanley.Sit upstairs. Phenonominal view along the coast, breath taking views. On arrival visit the Stanley Market , great shopping. Indoor/outddor style containing anything a tourist was looking for. After shopping their are several restauants facing the bay , informal eat inside or out while watching the activity on the bay.

I didn't pay a lot, but felt like I got a lot. I only wish internet access was free, but for a week, it only costs ~$250 HK, which is reasonable given the room rate. I was only there for 3 nights, so it was a little less reasonable, but still cheaper than the daily rate. The hotel is right near the waterfront promenade that you can meander on for great views of the HK side and for the daily evening light show. It's a few blocks from the nearest MTR stop, though, and in the heat, you'll be tempted to duck into a shop or two just to get a blast of AC. I didn't realize there's a cinema right across the street until the last day, but that would be convenient if you so desired to catch a film. There's also a grocery store on the way to the MTR stop, which is handy for picking up things you might otherwise find in your mini-bar at 4x the price. The hotel did try to upsell me to a higher end room and service upon checking-in after a long flight from the US, and all I wanted was to get to my room. This added another 10 minutes to the process, and 10 minutes I wish I had back. I didn't see the upgrade as worth the value, so I passed. I think it was about $70 US more per night for free internet, buffet breakfast, and a few lesser upgrades.

Hotel was well located for some site seeing. Amenities were quite nice. Upon check-in, we were "offered" an upgrade to executive for a discounted price. This included breakfast, internet, paper, and evening drinks/snacks. We opted for it and it was a good value for our needs. I wouldrecommend this hotel

First, I will say that on the whole we greatly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Nikko. The hotel seems a little older than most others in the area, but it was very nice. Both the bedroom and bathroom were very nice and surprisingly spacious for the price. However, a few things about the hotel disappointed us: 1) Service was lacking. This really surprised me given that this is a Japanese hotel. No one offered to take our bags to our room (I was carrying about 40 kilos of luggages). When we checked out, no one offered to help us get a cab; instead we were left to wander down the street about 200 meters to find one ourselves (while carrying our luggage). 2) The internet fee was exorbitant (120HK Dollars for 24 hours; 250HK Dollars for 7 days). In this day in age I expect high-speed internet to be provided at no additional charge. 3) We paid extra for a room with a view of the harbor. What we got was mainly a view of the building next door. If we pressed our faces up against the window and looked at an 85 degree angle toward the harbor we could see three or four buildings on the other side. Hope this helps.

We stayed in the Hotel Nikko for 10 nights in December 2008. The hotel's clean and the service is great. We spend some time one afternoon at the rooftop pool, which was nice. No-one else was up there (it *was* December), and the water was too cold to get in, but the pools a decent size and we would definitely have enjoyed it if it were summertime. This hotel's not exactly located in the middle of everything, which was a pain at times, but a blessing at other times. We enjoyed being away from some of the hustle and bustle when we wanted some peace and quite, but when it was time to get on the MTR it's a little bit of a walk. Make sure to bring your walking shoes.

The consierge was wonderful, the service was also great. However the hotel is a bit old and as weird as it sounds, the air quality was really poor. It was a very heavy and humid air quality and the hallways smelled like curry. The smell of humid curry filled air is enough to make you sick in the morning.

This hotel is located East TST, Kowloon. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The area is safe for late night eating/walking. The MTR is about a 5-10min walk. Room was very clean and has a nice size bathroom. Service could be better for the price, but minor as I hardly used any of the hotel amenities. Overall I would stay again.
