Hotel Diplomat - Estocolmo

A very nice hotel in a good, central location, under 10 minutes walk from Gamla Stan, and directly opposite the quay from which there are several options for boat tours around the islands. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had a room at the back of the hotel without a view, but pleasant nevertheless. There are some nice little touches like an umbrella in the room that guests can use. We didn't eat in the hotel, as it's on the pricey side (but not unduly so for Stockholm), but did have a drink in the cocktail bar where prices are not unreasonable (for Stockholm). The service was attentive and friendly. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

I didn't like this hotel, the rooms were too small, bathrooms were ugly, there was no air conditioning, it was too hot for august.

Our room was large and well appointed, the beds and bedding very comfortable. You can't beat the location right on Stockholm's inner harbor, with easy access to public transportation and plenty of sightseeing opportunities within walking distance.

The hotel is in a great location (walking distance to many great Stockholm sites) and the hotel staff and breakfast buffet are nice. That's about it. If you go to the hotel website you will get a false impression. It is a luxury website, not a luxury hotel. My room was spartan, the curtains didn't cover the windows, no robes, limited amenities, etc. In short, nothing to get excited about.

We totally loved this hotel. Super clean, friendly and in the middle of the tourist city. Large room (compared to most european hotels). The restaurant and bar -- delicious. Stay here for a nice time in Stockholm.

The location could not be better for access to EVERYTHING, including the water taxis, water tours, etc. The major museums are close to hand, Gamla Stan is within walking and/or water taxi distance, although this lovely hotel makes it hard to leave. You will like the charming original elevator from the 1920s, the quiet courtyard, the lovely small balconies with chairs, and the great breakfasts. No one could ask for a more thoughtful and helpful staff, either, and the private lounge area on the mezzanine is a place of beauty and quiet, too - with wireless internet access besides! Do try the Cocktail Lounge on the 2nd floor - it can't be beat! This is a "can't miss" hotel - and if you can't stay here, consider the Hotel Esplanade directly across the courtyard.

I booked this hotel after it was recommended to me by a colleague. I generally like my hotels very modern, and this hotel combines art nouveau features with modern cons. The best thing about it is its location. It is near the waterfront and on the edge of the hip and upscale Stureplan area. Great for dining, shopping and going out. It is also an easy stroll into Gamla Stan.

Every thing one could wish for for the perfect stay, good food, luxury accommodation and perfect location.

Day I arrived elivator did not work, and the day I left it did not work again. Room was small and my view was of the inside court and work area of the hotel. The worst thing there is no airconditioning of the rooms so it was very hot. I Slept with the windows open so being off the main street wasn't such a bad thing. Staff was pleasent but only moderatly helpfull. I would give it maybe a 3 star by european standards

Hotel Diplomat is in a perfect tourist's location. It is very close to almost everything that a tourist would want to see - most sights are within walking distance.

Very good hotel, the room was comfortable and clean and the the staff very kind. I suggest this hotel.

This Hotel was fantastic. My husband and I got a great deal and it really exceeded our expectations. The room was very clean/functional and great bathroom. The Bar in the hotel/restaurant was also very good/convenient for a late night drink.

You get what you are paying for. Great service! Great location! Great restaurant on-site! Great view from the hotel! If you are travelling to Stockholm for sightseeing then this is the best place for you. Everything is literally within 10 minutes of walk from the hotel.

This hotel was a great location for Stockholm, very near the Vasa Museum and close to Ferry boat to Gamla Stan. Excellant Breakfast. Also nice views of the harbor. Rooms were a great size! Would definately stay here again.

This is a beautiful hotel inside and out. Yes the rooms are small but they are small in most European hotels especially the single rooms. My room was well appointed, quiet and comfortable. The staff is outstanding. Highly recommended.

An outstanding hotel that's true to it's location and is a perfect blend of old and new. The restaurant is also great.

Hotel Diplomat is overall a great hotel at a perfect location. If you get a good deal on the price, (standard room with courtyard view around 1000 SEK), I'm sure you'll be pleased. However, if you pay 2000 SEK or even 3000 SEK, you may be disappointed as rooms are quite small and beds are narrow. This is however common at many hotels in Stockholm.

This hotel is very reasonably priced especially when you consider its location, I did not have a harbour view but that was not a problem. The reception staff were brilliant at all times, the bar and resturant areas were comfortable and very well designed

Excellent location. Very expensive. Parking a problem - over $95.00 a night. No breakfast included. Location is the big advantage. Hotel staff not very knowledgeable about city in general. did not know about "Stockholm Card" for example.

The Diplomat was located on a beautiful part of the water and is within walking distance to many sites of interest in Stockholm. Only negative was that the hotel exterior was under construction and my window and balcony had scaffolding in front of it. This should have been told to me at time of booking. Overall a wonderful place to stay and the staff was very attentive.

The restaurant was the best we discovered in Stockholm. What more could you ask for than Moose and Acquavit? The room was small by US standrads, but just right. It was fine. The service in this hotel was extraordinary.

Was nice, clean hotel with a big single room & a nice walk in shower. Only problem was breakfast was expensive at 180 SEK..

Mycket bra hotell, där det mesta finns på rummet. T ex. tofflor och badrock samt sybehörsgrejer, nagelfil och andra användbara grejer. Frukosten underbar.

Ein angenehmes Hotel, ein schönes altes Gebäude direkt "am Wasser gelegen". Frühstücksbuffet nicht billig (18€), aber genügend Auswahl. Restaurant zu empfehlen. Rezeption zwischen freundlich (Frau) und sachlich (Mann). Was fehlt ist wenigstens die Auslage einer deutschen Tageszeitung

Innsjekkingen var kanskje ikke den beste. Litt sure medarbeidere. Tok bare en barmeny om kvelden. Fantastisk hyggelige mennesker der. Hovmester og barkeeper var langt over gjennomsnittet. Bedre medabeidere ved utsjekking, men langt fra best i klassen. Har bodd her før og tror kanskje Hotellet prøver og konkurrere med feks Grand. Vær dere selv! Fantastisk beliggenhet og med litt blidere folk i foajeen. Så blir dere veldig bra. Så forresten en kjendis på vei inn på hotellet. Dog ikke noe kvalitetsbevis - hehe

Ældre; men hyggelig stil. Lille værelse, men rent og pænt. Lækkert badeværelse. God service i receptionen - dejlig mad i restauranten. Kan varmt anbefales.

Dette var vår første tur til Stockholm, og vi kunne vel ikke bodd mer sentralt uten å måtte bo oppå sentralbanestasjonen. Herfra er det kort vei til alt, og lite støy fra Strandvägen. Barnesengen stod klar da vi kom, samt ekstra håndklær :-) Kort vei til Djurgården. To minuser: - Det var trangt i heisen med sportsvogn. - Frokost ikke inkl, men en herlig frokost som kan spises inne og ute.

Vi har bott hos er 2 ggr i år! så vi blev besvikna när vi även denna gång fick titta på en betongvägg och lyssna på fläktarna som surrade. Vi kommer att välja ett annat hotell nästa gång.

Værelset lå ud til en baggård. Indeklimaet var ikke godt og sengene og puderne var efter vores smag for bløde. Selve hotellet var stilfuldt indrettet, men det afspejledes ikke på hotelværelset med undtagelse af badeværelset som var rigtig godt og flot. Med placering ud til Nybroplan på Strandvejen og lige nær ved Dramaten og ikke så langt til Stureplan er beliggenheden meget central. Østermalmstorg T-banestation ligger nær ved og forskellige buslinier går lige uden for døren.

Zeer charmat hotel met heel attent en vriendelijk personeel, het eten was ook niet te versmaden, ronduit een hotel om in terug te keren.

Hotel Diplomat er helt klart anbefalelsesværdigt. Det ligger rigtigt centralt med gåafstand til alt. Personalet er rigtigt flink og hjælpsomt, og værelset var meget godt og rent. Vi var der med vores 6 måneder gamle pige, og de havde redt fint op til hende i en rejseseng, hvor der endda var dyne og pude til hende. Deruodver lå der en fin bamse til hende. Dog var der ikke skiftefaciliteter på værelset, men dette var en mindre detalje. Vi havde ikke morgenmad med i værelsesprisen, men vi spiste hotellets morgenmadsbuffet et par gange, og det var rigtig lækkert. Det kostede kun 90 svenske kroner, hvilket er meget lidt pga. den lave kurs.

I have stayed several times at the Diplomat. Always receiving good and friendly service at the reception, bar and restaurant. At times an upgrade as well. Cosy bar and good restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. Good and central location of the hotel.

Hôtel particulièrement bien situé et confortable. Des rideaux plus épais en été seraient les bienvenus ainsi qu'un concierge pour s'occuper des bagages et des taxis;

Sehr gute Lage, valet parking, freundliches und effizientes Personal am Empfang, schönes, geräumiges Zimmer und Bad, angenehme Betten. Einziger Störfaktor: hässlicher Kabelsalat unter dem Schreibtisch. Gutes Essen und angenehme Bedienung im Restaurant.

tres bon hotel tres bien situe, seul la vue de la chambre sur la cour interieure nous a un peu deçu.

Lækkert hotel, med skøn beliggenhed i gå afstand til alt. Virkelig dejlig varieret morgenmadsbuffet. Personalet er yderst hjælpsomme og venlige. Afgjort et stamhotel i fremtiden.
