Great hotel, lovely staff - building is a refurbished old and ugly building but they've done a good job at making it stylish and very comfortable. The rooms are generously proportioned and clean. Bathrooms were slightly dated though

great location, mins to sunset strip and hollywood and short bus ride to santa monica, the staff was great and very helpful

Quiet residential location, upscale room appointments, amazing rooftop pool. If you drive a hybrid car you can park for free, avoiding the $30/night fee (as of 9/1/09).

We stayed only one night and were upgraded for free. The room was different from any other hotel room we've stayed in. The hotel spent effort with the interior design and it showed. My wife wants to take some of the things she saw and do them in our house when we get back. Not only was the design and layout superb, the bed was extremely comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The only downside was nothing was complimentary, although that's the LA style. The parking was $30 for the night, which was kind of expected but still an addition.

This hotel is like your private apartment in west hollywood.

Great service... large rooms and close to everything.

The pool has very few chairs and very poor service. You have to wait until a chair opens up and no one is there to help

The room was immaculate. Lovely pool. Nice neighbourhood. Great location. The staff are extremely helpful, very friendly & efficient, always going that extra mile & paying attention to detail. Highly recommended.

Great hotel. Perfect location. Within walking distance to great restaurants and good shops! Will definetly stay there again!!!

only 2 blocks from Sunset and a nice neighborhood to walk through. the studio was very roomy & the bed really comfortable. Hotel is pet friendly but Hotels.com did not mention the $100 "pet fee" Also the $30 parking fee wasn't mentioned

Found this as a great alternative to the standard chain. Staff was attentive and room was in great condition. Only issue is a/c -loud but need it on because room became stuffy. Location was great and coffee in lobby with extended hours for pool access. Loved 24 hour food available.

This hotel is in a central location for West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. The staff is extremely accomodating, the rooms are clean and well appointed. The hotel is small and does not have the craziness of a large hotel.

I was expecting to hear a lot of noise based off the other reviews, but it was very peaceful. I would highly recommend. Just know to add $30 a night for parking.

If you're staying in W. Hollywood this place is great. They started out by giving a free upgrade because they had the availability. If your looking for something other than The Standard this is a quaint version. Nice small pool and sun deck upstairs. Restaurant is a bit pricey but what isn't in W. Hollywood. I would definitely come back.

either they thought we were famous or they just treat everyone like a movie star there. the hotel is a converted apartment building with an enormous, comfortable bed and a fireplace that turns on with a switch, very romantic. it's a long walk to sunset blvd. so you will need to take a taxi if that can be considered a drawback, other than that there were absolutely none. the place is great.

Just stay away from the first floor rooms by the courtyard unless you're a night owl and up early. The conversations from the guests dining on the patio (which is lovely, btw) will come right into your room. Otherwise, the hotel is great, location superb, the staff efficient and friendly, and my stay there won't be my last.

It took us a while to find this hotel as it is tucked away in a residential neighborhood about a half mile from Sunset Blvd. We had a huge studio room that was immaculate. Bed was a bit stiff and linens too starchy but overall a very nice place. You are within walking distance of sunset strip and all the famous rock n roll venues (Viper Room, Roxy, Whisky a Go Go etc.)

I give it high marks across the board except: -sheets are too starchy, uncomfortable! -water pressure is terrible -no jacuzzi tubs in any rooms

Service, food, room, location was all excellent. Only criticism is that the internet connection was not satisfactory, which is critical on a business trip.

I understand the hotels business model but free internet service is a standard at all hotels now; and they charge for it. The rooms are nice, but the bathrooms need to be refurbished. Don't get me wrong, they are clean and sufficient, (actually the first room we had the shower did not drain and their was mold on the old cheap shower door).

This hotel was a great location at a great value, but don't expect a 4-star condition. The infrastructure was run down with chipped paint off the ceiling, stains on the carpet and dents/craters in the bathtub and shower. There is no central air but a wall unit which does a decent job. The closet doors were also inoperable, coming off the hinges during each slide. The staff and service however were very good. Overall, I recommend it at a 3.5 star level.

The hotel is great, fairly reasonable. Sweet staff.

I stayed 4 nights at the Chamberlain West Hollywood. The hotel is in a great location; very close to Hollywood Walk of Fame, Beverly Hills/Rodeo drive and a short drive to Santa Monica. The staff was very pleasant and the food at the hotel exceeded my expectations. I have only two complants. The hotel corridor leading to my room smelled like cigars and my room was facing the main street and VERY noisy (construction across the street and cars/trucks passing by). I would recommend the Chamberlain; however, defintely ask for a room NOT facing the main street (side of front entrance).

Great service, convenient location, and I'm glad we checked out the awesome rooftop pool while waiting for a ride. The only drawback is the non-insulated walls/floors so you could hear your footsteps and people outside the hallway. The valet service was quick ($28/day, no other parking) and Starbucks was a block down the hill. We loved the big pillows and the bed, and the wall mirror was a nice touch to the room.

Lovely decor, outstanding service and delicious food are the strenghths of the Chamberlain. It is located in a residential neighborhood, so it is very quiet, but at the same time convenient to all LA locations. The highlight of our stay (with three teenage kids) was the hotel's rooftop heated swimming pool; smallish, but with breathtaking views of LA.

A gem in the center of residential West Hollywood. Subdued elegance still exists. The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Very quiet, charming rooms with balconies and a fireplace. Returning there from a day of sightseeing was like returning home!

I have stayed at The Chamberlain many times over the last two years and been very happy. Unfortunately it seems to be declining. The cleanliness seems to be going downhill, both mornings my wake up calls did not come, they no longer asked if they could send up a pot of coffee as in the past in the morning, and so on... In these tough economic times, customer service is what will make or break businesses. Time for The Chamberlain to not get lazy and rest on it's laurels.

I would not stay here again because it was so noisy - bad insulation. I could hear every door close, the people walk around above me and the tv through the wall. My last night, the room above me had some kind of get together until 3AM - I called the front desk five times - three of which they never answered, to complain. I loved the bed and room but was too tired to enjoy it.
