if your looking for somewhere to just sleep for the night this is ok. the continental b/fast was muffins and coffee on a shelf in the lobby !!! but you are just across the road from santa monica pier, and just around the corner from the pedestrianised area with all the shops and rsataurants..Parking was $10.

The Santa Monica Beach Travelodge is a great hotel for its location. This hotel is perfect for those who need a place to sleep and shower. The hotel is a bit old, but its location and friendly staff makeup for anything the hotel lacks in aesthetics. Its location is within walking distance of the beach, Santa Monica Pier, and Third Street Promenade. The rates of this hotel are much more affordable than many of the other chain and boutique hotels in the area. I would definitely recommend the Santa Monica Beach Travelodge.

Positives: The location is excellent as only 100 metres from the pier. The guys behind desk were very helpful. HOWEVER, this hotel is very poor on condition (sheets had holes an everything had seen better days) and cleaniness poor and comort poor (lumpy bed, noisy A/C and leaky windows so noises from outside etc. Swim pool very small and surrounds dirty and unkempt. Breakfast almost non-existent (muffins, coffee and OJ!).

Great location, cant be beat. for the price i paid, very worth it. every other hotel in that location was very pricey. this was a great hotel for its price. within walking distance to beach and promenade. would definitely go again!!!

The only two things that I can say good about this place was they did let us in at 3:30am when we finally arrived by plane. The other would be the great location. The room was nasty, smelled nasty, had bed bugs and they claimed they did not find them after we checked out. The breakfast was such a cry for help, we would pick something up when we left for the day at a local shop. When we visit again next year there is no way that we will stay there again!!!!!!

If all you need is a place to lay your head this is a great place. The Santa Monica Pier is only 1/2 block away and the 3rd Street Promenade is just a couple of blocks away, great place for dining and shopping,

The hotel wasn't great, the staff very friendly, but we came there to hang out at the beach, it was right across the street, prefect location.

The room was nice faced the ocean and about 3 min walk to Santa Monica Beach. Great for college students looking for a cheap place to stay a nice part of LA! The only thing was there were very little amount of parking but again it is Santa Monica and the locks did not work in the bathroom. The hotel manger was a very nice guys will stay there again just because of him.

This hotel should be torn down. Even though it's a Travelodge, don't expect super bed, or nice towels, this place should be torn down. It's filthy, the shower had no water presure at all, tub and tile on bathroom floor were worn out, dirty. Sheets on bed looked dirty, bed was wore out. The price was far too much for the condition of the hotel.

The location of this hotel is great. Right across the street from the Pier and beach. Two blocks from the Third Street Promenade. However the facility itself was nothing like the descripition online. The room carpets were so dirty that it turned the bottoms of our socks black when we walked on it. Someone had used a paint roller and painted the stains away in the bathtub(I know this because the paint was chipping and flaking off the whole time we were showering exsposing the actual finish under the paint). The pictures on the wall were actually hung with the imaged upside down. The pool looked like there could be something living in it. And to top that all off, there were prostitutes and other sketchy characters that seemed to live there. The friday we stayed there they were all up until 3:30 in the A.M. partying right outside our not so private room. Sorry Hotels.com, but you asked...

Do not stay here it is a dump. Filthy we bought our own bedding and the room stank. We stayed out as long as possible and left early.

This is the only budget based hotel on Ocean Blvd in Santa Monica, and unfortunately, IMO it should be knocked down and replaced with something more appropriate to the area. I am familiar with pretty much every other hotel on Ocean Blvd. in this city, having stayed everywhere from the Fairmont to the Shangri La (pre renovation) to Loews and everything else in between, and here it's definitely you get what you pay for. This Travelodge may have been a viable choice at one time years ago, but from the dingy front office and wireless user/pass that never came (hotel advertises free wireless) to the flat sheet being used as a fitted sheet on the bed (!!!), dirty/stained mattresses, the smell in the room (like it hadn't been deodorized/cleaned in years ... had to keep the window open on a cold night, to deal with it), chipped furnishings with nails sticking out of some of them (the table), stained upholstery (chairs) and questionable surfaces and raggedy old bath towels, it's amazing this place is still standing. I should have known better, but wanted to give this "discount" chain a chance. On Ocean Blvd in Santa Monica, it doesn't work and the place really needs to be replaced with something more habitable. It's waaaaay past its prime. The only plus was that the person manning the office did keep things open til we got there at almost midnight (drove up from Disneyland). I really appreciated the gesture. But really, I was happy to get my daughter out of that mess of a room the next morning, and regretted exposing her to such a shoddy place on her birthday trip!

This is the dirtiest and worst kept property I have ever seen. I would not offer this to my worst enemy.

This hotel is in a great location - between the Santa Monica Pier and the Third St. Promenade shopping district. Room was clean and facilities adequate for the money - although the linens were a little threadbare and could be replaced.

This motel offers a great location and is walking distance from every thing that most people go to Santa Monica for. One of the only drawbacks is its location also offers a lot of traffic noise but is not a deal closer. If you want to spend more money on food and fun, this is the place to stay.

Front staff was helpful, very convenient location, and good for the money. One thing about it was that the room I stayed smelled unpleasantly. I don't know what it was but did not appreciate it much.

This is an economy hotel in Santa Monica and in a great location near the beach. Outdoor noise and traffic are constant and as we experienced, late night party animals will wake you from a sound sleep. I had to promise my wife to never take her to such a hotel ever again. Never again.

The Santa Monica Beach Travelodge is not a fancy place at all but if you are going to visit the Santa Monica Pier and surounding area and you are not going just to stay in the hotel, this is the joint. We paid much less than $100 a night for a little room right across the street from the pier. There is great shopping, dining, bars and sightseeing all within walking distance of your room and they even give you muffins and OJ (it tasted more like Sunny D than oj) for breakfast each morning. This place is not modern or charming or whatever but we will certainly go again.

The hotel location was great as it was close to the Pier and good restaurants but it could use some clean up work.

Hotel location was great and from previous reviews we felt like we knew it wasn't going to be perfect. So, we save a couple of bucks and sacrificed luxury. We survived and had a great time.

Its a travel Lodge, don't go in expecting luxury. Its in walking distance to food, shopping and bars. It served its purpose for the night we stayed.

The Travelodge was a good value because it has a stellar location on Ocean Avenue across from the Pier and two short blocks to the 3rd Street Promenade. The front desk people were very professional and friendly. The quality of the condition of the rooms was low but to be expected for the price in this area.

Hotelet börjar bli slitet men fungerar luktade lite illa på toaletten ,troligtvis fuktskador.frukosten bestod av muffins och kaffe, juice. Men läget är mycket bra med gång avstånd till santa monica pir.

Det dårligste hotel vi besøgte i USA, det er møjbeskidt på værelserne.

Hard beds and a bathroom that has seen SO MUCH better days. Would not take a shower in it...
