Manchester Marriott Victoria and Albert Hotel - Manchester

We stayed here recently and I must say it really is a fabulous hotel. The room was great, it was close to all the sites and the breakfast was fab. Most of the staff were helpful and polite. When we go back again we won't eat in the hotel restaurant tho...bit pricey for a family! Overall....fantastic :-D

The hotle was very nice and the staff where all fantastic,I will be taking my family back to this hotel. It was really close to the city centre and just over the road from coronation street so ideal for fans, also just a short walk to old trafford.

Stayed in this hotel to attend concert in Manchester with my wife. Was very pleased with comfort, service, quality of breakfast etc. Room was excellent and nice and quiet. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful as were bar staff, housekeeping. I am returning in two weeks with my son for another concert and can say I am looking forward to my stay.

This hotel is very well located for seeing the centre of Manchester, within walking distance of some excellent restaurants. Hotel staff are polite and freindly. The hotel is very nice and well furnished without being too formal or stuffy, which makes it relaxing and comfortable. The bar is very pleasant and prices of food and drinks fairly reasonable for 4 Star hotel. Valet parking was excellent and again, reasonalbly priced. Breakfast was very good, would definately stay here again.

A great experience, excellent service and superb location for our visit to Manchester United Game along with, ease of access to the City Centre. Beautiful property, will be visiting again.

Second visit to this hotel. Made to feel very welcome. Superb service (especially from the extremely friendly duty manager? - sorry forgot to look closely at his name badge) . Couldn't do enough for us. Unusual in this country to have such obliging staff...! As we needed a late checkout on the room to get ready for an evening function at the end of our stay and finding that the shower head had broken in our bathroom, there was no hesitation in allowing us to use another room for the rest of the day. The only disappointment was that our original room was above the kitchens and early in the morning we had wafts of cooking smells and noise presumably from the extractors, coming in through the window which we had to leave open because of the heat in the room. But we know that somebody has to go in the rooms on that side and it was only a small niggle on what was otherwise a very pleasant but too brief stay. The substitute room on the other side of the hotel was fantastic however.

We stayed at the V & A because of its location to the theatre and having stayed in hotels around the world it ranks highly on all services, the room was spacious and clean and the bed was excellent,as was the shower. Showers are a pet thing with me and believe me they seem to be very much overlooked by hotel management. We ate in the hotel restuarant before going to the theatre and the meal, and service was excellent. So where did it go wrong in the morning ? Everything about the breakfast was very disappointing. Tables were,nt cleared, there was no juice, no glasses, no bowls for cereals or fruit, everything on the cooked breakfast was luke warm when you took it and quickly went cold by the time you got it to the table. The dining room staff, who were the same staff who served the previous evening, just seemed to lack any direction and when we left the restaurant I noticed that there was still no juice. It did,nt spoil our stay at the V&A and when I complained when checking out they apologised and gave me a £25 voucher, which was appreciated but we would have much preferred that our stay would not have been blighted by the breakfast experience. Would we stay again ? Certainly, but I might be inclined to enquire about the breakfast service when we check in, lest they forget.

Stayed here for 1 night, only came across it by chance but was in a good location and close to everything. And a GREAT breakfast is served, especially if you get a deat over looking the river.

I chose this hotel simply for convenience as I was to attend a training course the following day and wished to arrive refreshed. I could not have made a better choice. I travelled to Manchester by train and alighted at Oxford Street station, as it was a pleasant evening I decided to take a stroll through the city streets to the hotel which took approximately 35 minutes at a leisurely pace taking in the surrounding hustle and bustle. The hotel is situated across the road from Granada studios and is impressive. Upon arrival the staff I found to be extremely helpful, informative and courteous. The room was beautiful and I must say the most comfortable I have stayed in - and I have stayed in quite a few. I ate lunch at the hotel the next day and again cannot fault the menu or quality. I was most disappointed to have to leave.

We stayed in the Mariott and Victoria Albert hotel for 3 nights. On arrival we were very impressed by the effort of staff to make us feel comfortable in our stay. Although staff of not of english nationality, there ability to relate and understand out queries was excellent. On entering our room we were overwhelmed by the cleanliness and quality for the small price payed. I would most definately recommend this hotel. Altough it is not situated in the main city centre, all essential shops are located very closely. Also another highlight og this hotel is that it is situated across the road from Granada Studios so a famous face is almost a guarntee. Go on, book your stay with Mariott, you wont be let down :)

We got an excellent deal on three nights at this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to return. The room with king size bed wasn't huge but perfectly adequate, and the bed was wonderful. One complaint was that the only item our fridge/minibar contained was a small jug of milk that had gone off. Housekeeping replaced this with fresh milk and I'm sure we could have asked for the minibar to be stocked had we wanted to use it. Hotel location is good for getting around town and the concierge was knowledgeable about local pubs and restaurants.

My fiancee and i had a very luxurious superior room at the hotel and had a fantastic romantic weekend. We were very relaxed the staff couldnt do enough for us and we felt like royalty! First class on all levels. The breakfast was fantastic, the bed very comfy and in general just brilliant!

booking in very efficent. conceirge could not do enought for us.Room was beautiful warm with a mini bar ,fanastic buffet breakfast served over three hours .If we return to manchaster would most certainly stay there again.

This hotel is situated on the river banks from the time you arrive and checkin you feel at home It is very well presented and the staff are very helpful any thing you need just ask the location of the hotel is great just far enough out of the main areas but just far enogh for a walk to manchester city center were all the shops are and night life The food is excellent with a good variety I would recommend this hotel to anyone for price quality and service regards Richard Davies

Everything about the hotel was excellent. It was very clean, anything you asked for was sorted out for you. Food was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were lovely and the mattress toppers were fantastic. We are hoping to stay for New Years Eve.

Lovely hotel, got upgraded and we got a good deal anyway £99 for Saturday to see Dolly Parton. The hotel of course is reletively expensive so here are a few of my own tips. Car parking £13 a night if you can park on Water Street outside hotel pay till 6pm and then its free till AM but if like us staying over on Saturday Ok all Sunday too. Walk up Quay St turn left down side of Opera house and lovely new area . Superb Italian cafe for that coffee livener or more. Wetherspoons on Deansgate, terrific value and quality. Lunch try China town the restaurant UNDERNEATH the Hong Kong opposite China town car park entrance, a superb buffet for £8-95,

Booked this hotel at short notice. The room was delightful and we were upgraded. The comfort of a modern hotel in an old building. It was ideal for our stay.

i recently went to manchester with a few of my friends for myhennight and stayed atthe marriot not one personcomplained about the weekend theyweresattisfied with the hotel ,the prices were good and we had lots of fun i will definatly begoing back to the marriot in a hurry

We were only in Manchester for 1 night. We had spent three months n Manchester i 2007 and wanted to spend a night dining and drinking at some of the countries best places as a little treat! This was not our first choice of hotel but was definately the best decision we have made all year! The hotel is clean and stylish. The staff are friendly and the concierge offers a greeting usually found in far more expensive establishments. The bar was relaxing and the room was perfect. Comfy bed!! The bathroom could probably do with a little u-grade but then again - it was probably the most 'to be expected' for the price part of the stay. Don't get me wrong - it's not dirty, it's just a little basic - with a shower that needs you to be 5ft tall to thoroughly enjoy! We also made the bathroom floor into aswimming pool...sorry to the maids...who despite the lock on the door tred to get in twice 50 minutes before check out to start the clean up. I would definately return. It's in a great location, has the Marriott quality you would expect and is ideal for a little get away at sensible prices... unless the company is paying...

Ce ne sont pas les bonnes adresses qui manquent à Manchester, mais celle-ci étant située au bord de l'eau. C'est un PLUS qui peut faire la différence. L'endroit est calme, bien qu'en ville.

Meget god pris i forhold til størrelse på rom. Frokosten er derimot altfor dyr, så den stod vi over. Hotellet ligger like ved en kanal, veldig sentralt i sør-Manchester, nærmeste trikkestopp var ca 1 km unna, men herfra var det bare fire stoppesteder til Old Trafford-banen.

laute zimmer, service mau- besonders der concierge wirkt völlig überfordert (die organisation für eine stadtbesichtigungstour wurde von den mitarbeitern einfach vergessen), einrichtung aber sehr stilvoll, tolles und sehr bequehmes kingsizebett, in citynähe gelegen- stadtkern ist zu fuss in 20 min erreichbar

Luxurious feeling with excellent staff at both front desk and restaurant. Very helpful with everything, also stored our luggage for free. Huge breakfast buffé where you can have anything you like! We ate a very tasty dinner in their restaurant and had a relaxing drink in the bar. You'll love it!
