Comentado por l, deLondon, el oct 16, 2009

Wow, I booked this as a surprise for our last night in Seville, from the moment we entered the main wooden, vaulted and tapestry lined vestibule I knew we were in the palace for dreams. After check-in and a polite and intriguing guided tour via the sunken spa areas and mosaic corridor to our roof top rooms with secret second stairwell uptp our nest ! ( a double with Spa bath) our eyes were still widening. The sheer variety of courtyards, antiquities, collections of oddities and eclectic furnishings with lifts at either end of the complex Casas is an artistic treat. We enjoyed the rooftop pool to ourselves with robes and sunset views. I was forced to venture into Seville city's Alcazar ( wow and more) and will return whenever i deserve to ( hint hint ) Very quiet in the later hours, for adults, for romantics, for dreamers, this is a seductive and quality place. And yes the breakfast is a highlight after all this too, recommend it ? i think id like to live here for good !

All the reviews were right! This hotel is wonderful. The location, the staff, the room, the myriad of patios and alleyways, the temperature in the room is perfect. There is even a pool on the roof for hot days. And the piano-bar is an unexpected but very enjoyable place.

Quirky hotel which oozes character and manages to maintain adequate levels of comfort. This is not your air conditioned box on a corridor but an individual room off an internal courtyard, or via subterranean walkways and two lifts or even all of the above. Nothing is level, everything creaks, weary in parts and it is air conditioned with beautiful linens and toiletries. It is a refreshing and different hotel in a great location and well worth a try. I suspect that there may be an element of lucky dip with the rooms as they are all so different. A few specifics, the beds by the pool are fabulous (but very few of them), the rooftop pool is fine, one hotel internet terminal, wi-fi in the bar for personal laptops. VERY difficult to find the hotel by car, parking in the nearby public car park is easier. The hotel does have an arrangement with the car park if you want the concierge to park it up for you but you will have to conquer the one way system to get to the front door. Didn't use the restaurant or other common areas, stayed room only as plenty of more interesting (and less expensive) places to dine. Final point, if you are staying June to September then Seville is super hot. The location and a pool are probably essentials.

Comentado por P, deManchester, el ago 23, 2009

We stayed 4 nights in Las Casas de la Juderia in August 2009. It is a series of small buildings around calm, quiet and shady court yards with a quite piano room serving snacks and drinks in the afternoon. There is a roof top pool, which although only small and really just for floating in rather than swimming was really welcoming after searing daytime temperatures, although most of the sunbeds were taken most of the time. Would definately reccomend this hotel it is in a great location with several bars and restaurants on its doorstep.

This was a return visit to this hotel as we had cut our previous trip a little short. Ideally placed for all the sights. Seville is a lovely city to wander around even in forty deg heat. We found a beautiful park where it was cool and quiet away from the heat and dust. The hotel is a delight and the breakfast is to die for with Bucks Fizz being the highlight for us. Parking is nearby and fifteen pounds per night. There is a small swimming pool and sunbathing area on the roof.

We wanted to stay in the Bario Santa Cruz and this was a great location...once we found it. Nothing is easy to find in Seville, so do your research before you go. We were able to walk to the Cathedral and the Alcazar. The hotel is full of charm and character, with hidden court yards and fountains and underground tunnels. Lots of tile work decorates the interior. It was extremely hot (107 F) while we were there. Thank goodness we had air-conditioning. We did not eat there as there were lots of tapas places to go to.

although the hotel looked great on the web-site, nothing prepared us for how great it was in reality. our room was perfect, the quaint 'street like' passages that linked all the buildings were so enjoyable to wander down, not sure what new nook you'd come across. Really enjoyed a few hours by the pool with colourful rooftop views. The only let down was we couldn't avail of any spa treatments as they only were offering water therapy those days. the location was great, really enjoyed wandering through the haphazard miniature cobbled streets towards the central bull ring area. I'm not an avid shopper but my friend loved what was on offer. Although it was mid July and very hot, it didnt seem so bad as the building heights coupled with narrow streets block much of the direct heat. I love Seville even more now that I've experienced this hotel.

After reading many varied reviews we decided upon this hotel and could'nt have been happier. The staff were so pleasant and helpful. Hotel was very clean, breakfast good. The style of the place was wonderful, loads of beautiful tranquil courtyards where all you could hear was water from the fountains and birds singing. Quirky underground corridors leading to the rooms steeped in history. The location was excellent right in the heart of Seville. The only reason we could not give this all five stars was the room was a little tired and had a cracked bidet.

This hotel is a wellkept jewel, although not unknown! It has fatastic location, fantastic staff, beautiful rooftop swimming pool area with views over the old town. A feel of authentic andalusian character, with small patios and corridors protected from the sun. Great value for money! The only thing is that my room wason the ground floor and not very well isolated from the noise outside due to internal courtyard resonance... But really a minor problem...

Everything was great about the hotel expect for the pool. The interior of the hotel was unique, rooms were clean and large, and bathrooms were clean and large. Location was close to the barrio de santa cruz and cathedral. Right outside the hotel there were plenty of cafes and shops. I think the only disappointment was that the pool was a little dirty looking and there were minimal sections to hang out there.

This hotel is composed of several old mansions that have been beautifully restored. The mansions are connected by an underground maze filled with beautiful mozaics and with adjoining courtyards and fountains. While the lobby and piano bar have an old world charm, the rooms have all modern amenities including air conditioning which worked well (not common in many other hotels we've stayed at in Europe). Although breakfast was not included, we opted to eat at the hotel which provided an elaborate buffet. Excellent location, within easy walk of everything. Would highly recommend.

If you want UK or US 4 * quality bland hotel, this is not for you. However, if you are after something a bit unusual and interesting, book immediately! The hotel is ideally located with lots of bars and restaurants on the doorstep. There have been negative comments previously about the tunnels and little alleys leading to the rooms, but we found this one of the best bits about the hotel - it was unusual, fascinating and thoughtfully done. The room we had was quite basic (although the bathroom was great) but to be honest we didn't spend that long in it anyway! The beds were comfortable and the shower decent which is all we really used it for. The hotel is pricey for what you get but for two nights we found it interesting and fun.

We had trouble finding this hotel (we drove in from Granada and you can't really drive in the old city--and there is no real marking on the hotel telling you its name), but that was the only drawback. We found the entire hotel totally charming and we had a great experience. The way to your room is unique; the art along the way adds to the romance. The breakfast was more than adequate, and the service was superb. Enjoy! we travel a lot, and this is one of all-time favorites.

A higgledy-piggeldy arrangement of over 10 houses joined together by an underground corridor. They all have patios, and it's slap-bang in the middle of medieval Seville with its narrow streets and tapas bars. The service was courteous and fuss-free. The windows of the room were directly onto the street at eye-level and the room was dark and musty, the tv didn't work and the towels were damp when we arrived. Because of the size and non-uniform layout of the hotel, I think it must be hard to maintain quality control - so ask for a better room if it isn't any good. We saw cheaper hotels in Seville with patios just as nice.

This is a good value for a hotel of this quality. Very pleasant appointments, including large old fashion lounge with piano bar. Our room was nicely appointed and comfortable, if not large. Large variety breakfast with European and American choices of food. Great staff etc. A pleasant way to stay in Seville -- a hotel to match the beauty of the city -- and a perfect location for seeing the city.

After traveling around Spain for the last few of weeks I have to say that this was one of our favorite hotels. The one hesitation that we had before booking this hotel was the comments about how it was a maze trying to find your room, we thought that this was one of the charms of the hotel. The Hotel staff was very helpful and obliging and most speak some english. Our bead was squeaky and bathroom was small, but both were manageable. The only thing that was troubling was that my boyfriend and I both got horrible spider bites our second night there, but other than that our stay was great.

Way WAY over priced for the room. The room was dark and small and it took forever to find the room through a series of tunnel and stairs that you would need GPS to find each time. The air conditioner did not work and was not reparied in the three nights we were there. They claimed to be a non smoking hotel and there were cigarette butts in an ash tray on our Patio when we checked in. Their happy hour wasn't to happy either when we found out we had to pay $10.00 for each drink. Don't even think of eating in the resturant Prices high food poor and the ambiance stiffling. This Hotel is amust not stay

The hotel is located in a very busy area with very narrow labyrinth-like streets. Parking is valet and they only have 5 spots on property. It was difficult to leave the car near the hotel even for a couple of minutes whhile we went to the front desk to get the valet attendant. We had booked a double room and ended up with a beautiful room with two twin beds. We should have called the hotel after booking on hotels.com to verify that we needed one large bed for two. We were quickly reaccommodated to a room with a king size bed (room 428). Very pretty room, although the window looked out on a dim internal courtyard. The benefit of not looking out on the street was a super quiet room. We slept soundly and late every morning. The bathroom is small but very bright and includes a jacuzzi tub and a separate room with a walk in shower, a bidet and toilet. Excellent shower. We had some difficulty finding our building (the hotel is comprised of several buildings) and noticed a lot of people looking lost, map in hand...It is a bit of a maze but the hotel provides a map upon check-in. Overall the service was excellent, we felt very safe and the location was perfect for walking around and visiting the major sites.

This was my favorite place that I stayed on my vacation. The hotel itself is entertaining to explore by itself, and the area it's in is close to all of the good sight seeing destinations. My only complaint is the room felt a little cramped, but it was very clean and comfortable.

I have to say that this was one of the best hotel's I've stayed in while in Europe. I have been living and traveling in Europe for the past 8 years and this was a great hotel to stay in. It is centrally located in town. Easy to get around and walking distance to allot of historical attaractions. Very friendly and helpful employees. Thank You

This place really added to our stay. It became part of our experience in the city. Large rooms. Helpful staff. Winding our way in and out of the tunnels and gardens was a joy too. The rooms are reasonably well kept, but there are issues that won't be OK for travelers who like things pristine and who are used to modern hotels. If a possible leaky sink drives you up the wall, find another. If you can't stand an antique chair that might sag a bit, find another. All these and more are small things for us, considering that we were lodged in an old palace and right in the thick of things for Seville. For us it was absolutely worth the experience. Plus, the place is quiet. We'd probably go back.

lovely hotel with quiet courtyards, great sunny rooftop pool area.centrally located. however, noise from drains, adjacent rooms and the corridor is unbelievable, don't expect to lie in during your stay. we had a room at the Patio San Clement, it's a small room with and well stocked ensuite that had a tiny shower cubicle, so we used the bath instead-we're not fat by the way! so for the money on a Room only basis, it's overpriced. woud stay again only if sound proofing was put in.

Las Casas was in a perfect location in Seville. The hotel was "quirky", with many different levels which were not easy to navigate. The walk to our room was through a maze like walkway which was modeled after ruins. We met more than one guest who got lost trying to find their room. However, the room was fine and I think a good value considering the location. The rooftop pool was strange as well. Lots of green turf, not many and not easy to get to.

This is a very unique hotel and it's in a great location near all the touristy spots. My only disappointment was that they only internet wireless service and do not have computers available for their patrons to use. Also, you can only get the wireless signal in their reception area or the library. Go to the roof and get the views, it's fabulous!

The Casas is a rambling, beautiful and historic hotel in a great location. The staff truly goes out of their way to provide a great experience. Our room though a bit narrow and dark, was very comfortable and well appointed and the bath modern and spotless. The meals were so excellent that we went no further afield to eat every night and became truly fond of our wait staff. The breakfast buffet was extraordinary. A Happy Hour "two for one" in the piano bar was great after a day of touring and standing in line. The only down side was that the air conditioner needed a new filter and caused my husband's mold allergy to flare up. Over all, the experience was very good.

Las Casas de la Juderia is in the historic area of Sevilla -- the Cathedral is a 5 minute walk -- and its entrance is down a narrow lane which is just wide enough for 1 not too large car. The "hotel" is made up of multiple buildings connected by beautiful courtyards with fountains and random ancient architectural pieces. There was no street noise; but in our room (#89), there was the loud noise of a door (upstairs?) opening and closing --somtimes at 4:30 am. The staff was pleasant and helpful and there's a good (reasonably priced) breakfast place across the street.

Las Casas de la Juderia is located in a great location with most of the main attractions within walking distance. And while the hotel tries to be unique, as can be seen in the hotel's wondering layout which is filled with several beautiful courtyards, where Las Casas de la Juderia excelled in ambiance and location, it lacked in service, cleanliness and 'the little things.' Most notably, we found several cockroaches in our room (both dead and alive), the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor, the TV controllers were taped together and a strong musty odor filled the room. Las Casas de la Juderia claims to be a four-star hotel, but in all I received better service from the two-star hotel I stayed in later in my trip. Again, it has a great location, but it's significantly overpriced.

This place is unlike any hotel I have ever stayed at. To get to your room you have to go threw this long underground labyrinth. It feels like an adventure that requires your leaving breadcrumbs to find your way back. The courtyards are very cool. Our one complaint was that the place has a bit of an old musty odor.

The hotel is impressive. They've obviously spent a great deal of money updating a beautiful palace. The room was luxurious and very clean. However, the room itself was hugely inconvenient. To get to our room from the lobby, you walked across a patio, took a specific elevator down to a basement level, walked through a cave, took another elevator a floor up, crossed another courtyard, took a half flight of stairs up, crossed another two courtyards, took another elevator a level up, then another half flight of stairs, and there's the room. The problem is that all the corridors and elevators look the same. It once took me fifty minutes to find the room from the elevator. They don't give a map at check in. If you have nowhere to be, and just want your room to have ambiance and be comfortable, this is the place for you.
