Marriott Edinburgh - Edimburgo

This was the first time I'd stayed in this hotel when in Edinburgh as I normally prefer city centre locations. However myself, two daughters and granddaughter really enjoyed staying here enormously. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were fantastic and the room (a big family room on the executive floor) was spotless, roomy and had the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in! Don't be put off by the location as there are masses of buses go right past the front gate and it takes about 25 minutes to get into the city

Nice Hotel, liked the health club facilities, good bus lines into the centre of town. Very comfortable room, let down by noisy air con in the room. Receptionist also forgot to mention £2.50 charge for using a Credit Card to settle the bar and restaurant bill (only noticed after I got home)

The location just outside of Edinburgh is perfect for day trips by car. Room was very comfortable and huge by European standards. The breakfast spread and service was excellent.

Good value for money. Away from the centre but there are lots of bus all the time (15 to 20 min by bus from the hotel to the city centre). Good breakfast. Very nice room with lots of comfort. Nice hotel bar but very small and withou capacity for many people. Staff not very friendly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - arrived in Edinburgh at 7.30 am and when we got to the hotel was able to check in, which was great because we had too small kids. Rooms lovely, food very good and staff very helpful - would definitely recommend for a stay. Only drawback - one shower in ladies changing room at pool area out of order!

This is an ok hotel but definately not 5 star. It's a little tired (highlighted by revolving doors that you have to fight your way through). Good size rooms that are clean and comfortable but the radiator was either on at a million degrees or off at -15, all at the hotel's discretion. Restaurant was understaffed and a big warning - don't have the coffee unless you like it VERY weak.

A colleague and I stayed for one night and chose this because it was close to the airport. All in all, it was suprisingly good. The rooms were pleasant and spacious, the bar food was good, the breakfast was excellent. The wine from the bar was a bit pricey for what it was but that's my only negative. So if you don't want/need to head into Edinburgh from the airport for the night then this is a perfectly good alternative.

15-20 minutes by bus into city centre - bus every 10 minutes - 100 bus to the airport - bus stop is right outside the hotel, also the 900 bus to Glasgow stops there, which is an excellent service and runs every 15 minutes - good leisure facilities (gym & massage etc.) - very comfortable clean room and good breakfast - pub food is good as well

The only downside of this hotel was that it was a bit of a trek from the night time bus stop to the hotel. Otherwise this was a great hotel to stay at and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Edinburgh.

Hotel was first class, very friendly staff. Lovely room with very comfortable bed. There was a great choice for breakfast. Dinner was a let down, but apart from that, we enjoyed our stay.

This was my first experience of Marriott hotels. For my family and I, people make or break an experience. It is inevitable that small problems occur in any hotel. What matters is how these problems are resolved. In this case the staff were perfect. I look forward to my next Marriott visit, probably for Christmas.

This hotel had everything to make sure the guest was made comfortable. The service was excellent and everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. Would certainly recommend it

Convienent to airport as well as bus to downtown Edinburgh for 1.10 pounds.

Good value for the money. My only complaint . . . and it is a minor one . . .is the rather high charge of 15 pounds sterling a day for internet access.

The hotel was very comfortable and clean. The staff were very helpful and polite. My only complaint would be that the drinks were very expensive. The hotel is a bit out of the way of the city but there is a very regular bus service which is situated adjacent to the hotel. Would consider again if looking for a relaxing short break.

We booked the hotel as a surprise birthday for my sister and at first we were a bit concerned as the hotel was not in the city centre but we had no need to worry1 The bus service from outside the hotel was brilliant, even on a bank holiday weekend, they still ran every few minutes @ £1.00 each. I flew into Edinburgh airport and the hotel supplied a courtesy bus to and from the airport which was really good. The hotel was lovely, made us of their swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna. All the staff were very helpful, couldn't do enough for you and were always very pleasant. I would have no hesitation in booking into this hotel again.

Very friendly and helpful staff, clean and modern building A/C system though functioning did not appear to respond to changes in the controls, no other faults seen

Although this hotel would be more accurately described as a 4 Star Hotel, it was nonetheless quite comfortable - and the two double beds (for me and my companion) certainly gave me a very good and restful night's sleep...The breakfast option is certainly worth it - as the hotel is in an outlying suburb (no restaurants or take-aways were noticed outside the hotel), and the selection is large and delicious...One thing I noticed was the very cosmopolitan staff - many of whom were very friendly and efficient...If, like me, you want to access the Internet (without a computer), you can buy an access card from Reception, for use in the hotel Business Centre...The hotel is convenient for the Airport, and if you don't mind travelling in and out of the City Centre, I would recommend this hotel for its good value...

Great hotel!! I highly recommend it. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The bed was very, very comfortable.
