Kempinski Hotel Airport Munich - Neufahrn bei Freising

We had a quick stopover in Munich - arriving at 10pm and taking off the next morning at 8am - so the Kempinski Airport Hotel was quite convenient as it is located inside the airport. To be honest, if we hadn't gotten such a good rate on Hotels.com my wife and I wouldn't have stayed there because it can be quite expensive. But the convenience level was outstanding and the hotel itself is quite a place. It has a strikingly modern appearance and incredibly dramatic lighting in the vaulted all-glass lobby. The room was nice - the bathroom in particular was very well appointed. But I was surprised that even in a high-class joint like this we didn't have a true full or queen bed but two twins pushed together. We found this all over Europe and noted it as kind of odd, at least for an American. The only complaint - and this is truly not that big of a deal - is that there was a relatively small, old-fashioned picture tube tv instead of a more contemporary flat screen one. Just seemed out of place in such a style-conscious and hyper-modern hotel. Over all completely worth it if you have an overnight stopover in Munich, or just want to get to your flight in the morning with ease.

The Kempinski is convenient, clean, with excellent concegiere service, and comfortable rooms. The hotel is at the airport so you can't beat the convenience if you have an early flight. The large "outdoor" mall area is easy for access to food, entertainment (great band, Die Guten A-band) at downstairs beer garden.

My husband and I stayed at the Kempinski Hotel during a recent trip to Germany. It was amazingly convenient to get to from the airport as well as being only steps away from the the tram station to take us into Munich. The staff were extremely professional and friendly. The only thing we would have liked to have but was not offered was in-room coffee. Other than that, it was a great experience and we plan to stay again the next time we travel through Germany.

If you have a flight early in the morning, and still want to party in town, and have some cash, then take this one, as the free shuttle to the airport (all 2 minutes) is in a vw phaeton.

We stayed at the Hotel Kempinski in Munich the night before an early flight back to the US. From check-in to check-out everything was great. They provided a car to our gate the next morning and it was only 2 minutes away. There are plenty of restaurants and a great beer garden just a few feet away in the airport. It was quiet and we never heard any noise from the airport. Wish we could of stayed longer and been able to use the pool.

Hotel is located right at the Munich airport terminal but is very quiet - no airplane noise at all. Expensive food & drinks but well worth it.

A very fine hotel, certainly deserving of its 5* rating. Rooms were very spacious & comfy, location is perfect if you're flying through MUC in the near future, and service was excellent. Highly recommended. My only complaint is the extra ~£15/day surcharge for internet access. That's a pretty steep fee, and it only covers the wired ethernet in your room. C'mon guys, free wifi should be standard by now.

Absolutely the closest you can get to the Munich airport without sleeping in the terminal. This is a beautiful property, with a gleaming glass entryway and wide, nicely lighted hallways and rooms. I found it strange, though, that a five-star hotel didn't offer an in-room coffee- or teapot. Not a huge deal, since those of us shopping on hotels.com wouldn't mind walking a tiny bit over to the airport shops to get a cheaper bite to eat than this hotel offers on-site, but still, strange...

Location couldn't be better with respect to airport. Very well appointed. Great staff. Good value. Only complaint is relatively high charge for in-room internet.

The major plus for this hotel is being able to walk your Luggage Cart from the Baggage Claim in the Airport all the way into your room (the room doors are wide enough to take the Cart with suitcases sideways). I had arranged my flights coming in late at night and leaving the following morning and this worked perfectly. The down side is that the breakfast was not includded and I was not going to pay over $40 for breakfast (31 Euros). Also the High-Speed Internet costs 22 Euros ($30) which is exorbitant.

This was our second stay in 3 months. First time was fine. Second visit, we had troubles sleeping. Combination of very flat unsupported pillows, light coming in from the atrium and a generator humming throughout the night. Otherwise, services is excellent and property clean. I would classify the rooms a 4 star business hotel.

Walking convenience to airport (with luggage) is exceptional. Rooms very comfortable. Surrounding area leaves much to be desired, but your staying at an airport, so I had no expectations of such. Ideal for quick overnight stay before am flight!

The Kempinski Hotel Airport Munich is an excellent choice for people flying into or out of Munich. the airport is 45 minutes away from the Central Railroad Station while you can walk to the gate from the Kempinski. I would prefer that breakfast come with the room, but it does not. However, there is no problem in getting breakfast at the airport.

Between the two terminals and convenient to all airlines

While this hotel is a bit pricey, it is certainly first class. For a short layover in Munich it is an excellent option. It is located right at the airport - no need for a transfer, just walk with a luggage cart from the terminal to the hotel entrance. There is train station entrance about 50 meters from the hotel entrance, and the trains run with great frequency right to the center of Munich.

The location for getting to an early flight is great. However, no breakfast included in the high price and not even complementary coffee or tea available in the room or lobby for guest. Yoou could purhase of course at a very high price!

We travel for business through Europe and Nth America months per year. This hotel was extremely comfortable, clean and convenient but the reception staff (on three visits at different times of day) were indifferent, rude and condescending.

A world class luxury hotel in the midst of the Munich airport where you can almost roll out of bed into the chairs at your gate. Highest level of responsiveness from all staff, many languages available although all staff speak clear English if that's what you prefer or need. Bellman appears quickly to collect your luggage and drive you to your gate. Expensive but worth every Euro.

The hotel is an architectural wonder and located a short walk from the terminals and a great food and shopping court. The latter is good, because everything in the hotel is ultra-expensive. The room was very comfortable. Great bathtub.

Perfect way to end a vacation or business trip. Short walk with luggage to your terminal. Very nice BIER GARTEN located in shopping center between the terminals.

We enjoyed the Kempinski Hotel, location is just great to access an early flight. price is a bit high, but you get a very good room and service.

The hotel was fabulous and the rooms were large. I was concerned about noise since the hotel is connected to the airport terminal, but I did not hear a sound. The bathroom and bedroom were both very large and comfortable. Minibar items were exhorbitant, moreso than average (8 euros for a serving of wine).

Good location as you are but a 10 minute walk to the terminal. Has an excellent workout room with pool. Also has a spa. The in house restaurant is very expensive but you are but a 5 minute walk away from a typical German beer garden type restaurant that has much more reasonable prices. All in all good value for the money for an airport hotel.

We stayed at the Kempinski the night before an 11:30a flight out of Munich, and after a two week trip through Europe. The Kempinski costs a little more than other hotels that may be a little further away from the airport, but the incredible convenience and high quality of the hotel made it extremely well worth it. There is nothing like dropping off your rental car (or getting off the train) at the airport and walking 5 minutes to the hotel. The pool facilities were very nice, and they made for an extremely relaxing end to our trip. The Munich airport food court area (2 minutes away on foot) also has very nice food options if you don't feel like paying the cost of hotel food. But the biggest, nicest benefit -- the less than 5 minute walk from hotel room to ticket line the next morning for our flight. Rather than a 5 or 6 am hurried departure from a hotel that was further afield (and the accompanying cost of taxi or train), we were able to awake at 8a for our 11:30am flight, and walk out of our room at 9a -- arriving at the ticket counter minutes later.

An outstanding experience with five minute access to the train to downtown Munich, and the two terminals. This allowed a comfortable walk for a flight to Berlin from Terminal One and the USA from Terminal Two. The staff was exceedingly helpful! The best ever.

Very convenient, right at airport yet not noisy. Train station and shopping are there too.

The location of the Kempinski hotel is outstanding...a very short walk to the airport terminals. The decor and overall feeling of the hotel is very upscale and the price reflects that. However, the service was not great, especially at the bar (and the price we paid for a shot of Kettle One Vodka is almost obscene!). The room was modern and nice, but we had cleaner rooms in our stay in small family inns in Austria. So, if convenience is critical, this is the place for you..but I think better value can be found a littel further out.

Surprisingly affordable for a luxury hotel. Location in the airport is a definite asset since Munich airport is quite a distance from the city. Convenient access to the subway is a definite plus. Pool and sauna were excellent. Restaurants are unfortunately very limited in what they have to offer and quite pricey.

Very Nice Hotel. Clean, modern, large rooms. Biggest plus is its convenient location. It is a short walk to catch your flight.

Hotel is right between two terminals at Munich airport. It was quiet with very nice rooms and service. It made the early morning flight back to the United States so much easier.
